About this property

NESTLED IN PRIME CAPITOL HILL LOCATION - STEPS AWAY TO EVERYTHING!

Prime Locale - Quiet, Convenient, Free Parking and More!

Built in 1850, this location offers modern craftsmanship and comfort while maintaining historic character and charm. Beautifully furnished and light-filled, we’re located right smack in the heart of Capitol Hill!

A lower staircase with a locked gated entrance will lead you into a very comfortable living room area with two couches, hardwood floors with oriental rugs, a fireplace, 50-inch flat-screen Smart HD TV, a work desk and a table for dining. The fully equipped kitchen includes all the amenities – oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc.

There are two (2) bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the second with a twin bed. Fresh linens, pillows, blankets and comforters are provided. We can also accommodate a fourth guest by placing an additional twin bed in the adjoining back insulated porch room area if you require this. Please notify us in advance. No extra fee will be charged.

There is one full bathroom equipped with fresh towels, shampoos/conditioners, shower gels, soap and a hairdryer. Please note - access to the bathroom is through the second twin bedroom.

Central air-conditioned. Free Wifi, Direct TV w/ HBO & Showtime, a washer/dryer and a FREE parking permit for street parking. Added bonus is the use of the gorgeous landscaped backyard which includes patio furniture and BBQ.

Conveniently located 3 blocks from the US Capitol Building, and 3 blocks to Eastern Market. Easy walking to 15+ area restaurants, supermarkets, liquor stores and area shops. 2 min walk to Bus Stops, Bike rentals & 7 min walk to either Capitol South or Eastern Market Metro subway stops.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Leave sheets and beds unmade. Our cleaning crew will strip the beds and attend to the laundry when they get here. Put all used towels in the shower.
Take out the garbage - remember cans/bottles/cardboard in the BLUE can and regular garbage in GREEN can. If a Parking Pass was provided, please return it & put it on the table in the front hallway.
Lock the doors and put the keys back in the Lockbox if I provided one during your stay. If I am at the house, text me when you depart so I can enter afterwards and lock the unit.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

This is a perfect location for visiting tourists. The Capitol building is just steps away and walking to the sites is easy. The host was great with us and the small apartment was clean. Strongly recommend.

I can’t say enough about our wonderful stay in D.C.. The property was the perfect selection for our family and the host was beyond helpful. She helped to keep me from getting a parking ticket due to street cleaning and offered some detergent instead of purchasing a jug of our own. The parking pass came in handy. We felt at home and our son loved every aspect of the trip. The location put us a short walk from The Capitol and the neighborhood is welcoming. We will absolutely stay here again when we visit D.C.. Thanks for everything!

The apartment was great, clean, and all ready for us. It's so close to everything and it was great to be able to walk everywhere we needed to go. Having the parking pass was a great plus also. The outside space was beautiful and was great to drink your morning coffee at. Nick the doggo was super sweet also, we were so happy we got to see him.

Wonderful little lower level apartment situated in a great, convenient location. It made it easy to get around with proximity to the Capital and metro stations. Close to many good restaurants and entertainment within Eastern Market. Host was responsive and had very good, clear communication.

We came only for 3 nights before we headed off to Virginia. There were 3 of us. (me, husband and teenage daughter). We came in around dinner time so we dropped our bags and walked to dinner. There are many options for food and everything was within walking distance. There is also a Trader Joe's that you can walk to. We knew we were coming in later so we brought our own coffee and creamer. If you need coffee in the morning know that the coffee pot takes the basket filters not the cones (small things that I like to know) We easily walked to the green market on Sunday. That was such a great treat. On Monday we walked to the Capital building. The house has an amazing location. There are 3 bedrooms and one you have to enter to get into the bathroom (so put your heavy sleeper in there) Our host Christie was amazing and so quick with answers to all our questions. The check in process was easy. I highly recommend this house!!!

The second bedroom fits a twin bed and nightstand, that’s it. Our 24 y.o. daughter slept on couch instead due to the proximity of her parents bed and the fact we would have to enter the bathroom through her room. Maybe okay for a young school-age child or toddler. Main bedroom tight on the far end of bed. Kitchen could have had creamers for coffee and fresh tea bags. Otherwise living areas were very nice, location terrific, and Christie pleasant and attentive.

The place is beautifully decorated. Everything was well organized and very clean. The location is close to the museums and restaurants. The host was excellent in every way.The one bad thing is that the area felt a bit dangerous. We were out late on the 4th of July, watching the fireworks, and on the way back there was one homeless man lying in the middle of the sidewalk, and another one who was lurking about and cursing at us. We put our heads down and walked past, praying that he would not follow.Coming in the gate from the sidewalk and down the cement steps in the dark and then two doors with two keys in a tight corner, was challenging.The apartment is partially underground. There is really just one bedroom with a queen bed. There is also a tiny room with a single bed in-between the bedroom and the bathroom. The host put another bed in another little side nook in case we brought guests. The living room has two nice big comfortable couches that are long and wide enough to sleep on also.A very nice perk is the parking space right in front of the apartment. The A/C feels great when you come in, (it was 100 degrees outside), but then after a while, we got chilly and there is no way to adjust the A/C. Overall, the property is great.

This property is a gem. It is closed to everything you want to see in DC. We had three adults in our party, and Christie was able to accommodate an extra twin bed in the laundry area, which worked for us. Very clean and quiet in a great neighborhood
