Built in 1850, this location offers modern craftsmanship and comfort while maintaining historic character and charm. Beautifully furnished and light-filled, we’re located right smack in the heart of Capitol Hill!

A lower staircase with a locked gated entrance will lead you into a very comfortable living room area with two couches, hardwood floors with oriental rugs, a fireplace, 50-inch flat-screen Smart HD TV, a work desk and a table for dining. The fully equipped kitchen includes all the amenities – oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc.

There are two (2) bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the second with a twin bed. Fresh linens, pillows, blankets and comforters are provided. We can also accommodate a fourth guest by placing an additional twin bed in the adjoining back insulated porch room area if you require this. Please notify us in advance. No extra fee will be charged.

There is one full bathroom equipped with fresh towels, shampoos/conditioners, shower gels, soap and a hairdryer. Please note - access to the bathroom is through the second twin bedroom.

Central air-conditioned. Free Wifi, Direct TV w/ HBO & Showtime, a washer/dryer and a FREE parking permit for street parking. Added bonus is the use of the gorgeous landscaped backyard which includes patio furniture and BBQ.

Conveniently located 3 blocks from the US Capitol Building, and 3 blocks to Eastern Market. Easy walking to 15+ area restaurants, supermarkets, liquor stores and area shops. 2 min walk to Bus Stops, Bike rentals & 7 min walk to either Capitol South or Eastern Market Metro subway stops.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Leave sheets and beds unmade. Our cleaning crew will strip the beds and attend to the laundry when they get here. Put all used towels in the shower.
Take out the garbage - remember cans/bottles/cardboard in the BLUE can and regular garbage in GREEN can. If a Parking Pass was provided, please return it & put it on the table in the front hallway.
Lock the doors and put the keys back in the Lockbox if I provided one during your stay. If I am at the house, text me when you depart so I can enter afterwards and lock the unit.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Fabulous Stay

Location location location, fabulous place to stay with walking access to so many historical sites and places (literally around the corner). Comfy place too with great amenities that make you feel at home. Host also gave great tips about the local area and in our case the Jazz scene. We'll be back and this will be where we'll want to stay!

A Nice Place to Land

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at Christie's garden apartment. The location was fantastic for all the activities we wanted to easily access. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable and we appreciated being able to pull the shades on all the windows to lengthen our morning sleep. We also enjoyed sitting in the shady backyard after our long days exploring. We didn't use the kitchen except for morning coffee. I'd stay here again!

Long weekends

Great Place to stay, so close to every thing. Nice to not be in a tourist area and see the local market and dining areas. The Host was wonderful. Will definitely stay there next time in DC

Lovely Apartment

Great Little Place to Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect for access to everything. Great location!

We took a quick trip to DC with family who were visiting from South-Africa and this location was absolutely perfect! It is close enough to walk (or a short ride share) to everything you would want to see in Washington DC and only blocks away from a bunch of restaurants. Christie was awesome and let us check in early to drop off our luggage, since we didn't rent a car. All was as advertised. We will definitely stay there again.

Comfortable clean and quiet in a great location

I hesitate to lead with saying this apt is in a great location because I don’t want to give the impression that’s all it has to offer. It was comfortable, clean, quiet and had a well equipped kitchen. Walking distance to nearby Metro and restaurants as well as to Capital Hill sites like the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and Capital building.

Awesome Location

My only warning to others is that the bathroom is located by walking through the small bedroom area where the single bed is located. It is fine for families and friends who don't mind the intrusion by others. But if you are with those whom can't be disturbed to get to the bathroom, this may not work for you.

Perfect DC Location

We had a perfect stay here in DC. This property is so comfortable and convenient. It was walking distance to Starbucks, Trader Joes, eateries and pubs as well as the Capitol Building. The owner lives upstairs and was so accommodating. The entrance is private and the street parking was available and easy. We will be back!!!

Great stay

The location of the apartment was perfect. Metro was close and a great variety of restaurants as well! Beds were comfortable. We bought food at the close Trader Joe’s market and utilized the kitchen to make breakfast in the mornings. The only downside was the location of the bathroom…. It was located in one of the spare rooms and the sliding door was pretty “squeaky”, so our son was disturbed frequently when he was resting or sleeping at night 😕 other than that- no complaints!

Capitol Hill Apartment

The property was as expected. Lovely location, in/out as expected. Dishes and silverware were not clean. I killed several ants in the bathroom that came out from under the vanity. Biggest negative was the gold coffee pot basket which was coated inside with old coffee grounds and a thick layer of mold. I didn’t wash it and didn’t use it so you could see for yourself what I observed. I would stay again but not without assurances that it was cleaner than this time. The queen mattress was not very firm and seemed not to be level, but it may have been the floor. But still a charming place. Needs a little love.

This property is a gem. It is closed to everything you want to see in DC. We had three adults in our party, and Christie was able to accommodate an extra twin bed in the laundry area, which worked for us. Very clean and quiet in a great neighborhood

Perfect DC Getaway Spot! We had a wonderful stay during our trip to Washington, DC. The property was clean, quiet, comfortable, and ideally located for exploring the city. We especially enjoyed visiting Eastern Market and renting bikes to explore the National Mall and all the monuments—it was such a fun and scenic way to take in the sights. Christie was a responsive and helpful host, making everything easy. Highy recommend!

Centrale ligging van het huisje, wel erg gehorig, je kan de bovenburen horen als ze in hun koffie kopje roeren (en de rest) Beetje lastig dat je via een andere slaapkamer alleen bij de toilet en douche kan komen. Verder mooi ruim huis.
