We have three cabin rentals on 8 acres with the most beautiful park-like setting. Each cabin is privately situated with shared common areas; a community firepit, a Koi Pond and big fields to play outdoor games with your family, friends, or your dog.
Each cabin has its own picnic area complete with firepit, lawn chairs and picnic table. Our cabins are equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay with us. Fully equipped kitchens, linens, bath toiletries, BBQ’s, board games, books, cable TV, DVD player, shared hot tub, and the beautiful outdoors.
Living in the mountains can have challenges that should be expected by guests. In the event of inclement weather, we will do out best to keep the driveways and walkways clear of snow as quickly as possible. In case of a power outage, we have a generator to keep the well pump going so that the cabins will have running water until the power is restored. We do not have a generator to provide electricity to the cabins but each cabin has a wood stove and we will provide firewood in case of a power outage. We do not refund because of acts of nature including storms, air quality from forest fires, etc. that are out of our control. We will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Host was very communicative and the cabin was beautiful we had such a great time exploring the small town of Packwood. We had everything we needed and more in the cabin to have great meals and a great time in general. Will definitely be coming back.
Exceded our expectations in every way. The cabin was so clean and comfortable and we were the only guests on the property. We really enjoyed the hot tub after long days hiking trails in the nearby parks and wilderness areas. We saw elk in the field behind the cabin. We’ll definitely be back.
Beautiful property in a cute little town with a 30 min drive to the Mt Rainier National Park entrance. The hot tub was very nice and felt so good after a long hiking day!
Great quiet location and base for exploring the Mt Rainier National Park area. Comfortable for 2 people. Lighting maybe needs upgrading as it was quite dark inside. Other than perfect for a short stop off in the area
Cozy cabin. Hostess thinks of the little things you might need from bandaids to flip flops for the hot tub journey. Very clean. Quiet neighborhood. Perfect location for rainier visit.
The cabin is exactly as described. Very comfortable. Supermarket very close and a short drive to the Paradise entrance. To our surprise an awesome hot tub right next to the cabin. Highly recommend.
My husband and I enjoyed staying at the cabin. It was nice to have a place to spend time with him. Beautiful cabin and perfect setup to cook and whatnot.

We brought the property in 1979 and raised our three kids here. We later decided that with our close connection to nature and proximity to two magnificent volcanic mountains, we needed to share our piece of paradise. Moon Mountain is the result of many loving hearts and talents that shared our vision for a place-away. Our intention was to create a place where people could explore all the beauty and multitude of outdoor activities and come back "home". Moon Mountain is a pet-friendly, family-friendly eco-tourist's dream retreat.
We have always committed to being the best stewards of the land possible. We nurture the land and continue to share it with the resident wildlife. We have NEVER used pesticides in 40 years of ownership! Our cabins were both salvaged from another location and restored. The farmhouse was built in the 1940's and has been updated to reflect our commitment to restoration.
Our green practices include FSC certified flooring, zero-VOC paints, low-flow toilets, energy-efficient appliances, all natural cleaning products, recycling, and refillable toiletries.
Our guests often comment that this place is special.
Why they chose this property
This vacation rental was home when the kids were small. After they left home, we wanted to share our piece of Paradise. The house was renovated and the two cabins were moved from other locations. The eagles are back and there is nothing that beats waking up to here them singing. The resident elk eat everything we plant but they are one of the things we love best. The coyotes are rarely seen but we hear them. Had a bear in the tree this year...wow. The stars are the brightest anywhere.
What makes this property unique
Beautiful, peaceful mountain retreat. Enjoy exploring Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, skiing at White Pass and hiking the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
Our cabins and farmhouse have deluxe mattresses, down comforters, fully-equipped kitchens, wood stoves, beautiful views, and many more amenities.
