About this property

Scandinavian HideOut in the Smokies

Escape to your own private oasis in the mountains at The HideOut, a stunning cabin that combines rustic charm with modern amenities. You'll love the surrounding nature and quick access to the National Park and tourist attractions of Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. Stay in and relax in a hammock or a hot tub, take a stroll along meandering path around the cabin, or a short drive away will take you to Cades Cove, Laurell Falls, Townsend, or fish trout at Metcalf Bottoms. You would love it here!
The space
The HideOut is a newly built cabin, completed in September, 2022.

We designed every little detail ourselves and hired a talented local builder to execute with environmentally conscious and family centric vision in mind. We are happy with the result and know that our guests will enjoy being here as a family, group of friends, or a couple of love birds looking to get away. Come experience the HideOut in the Wears Valley, Tennessee.

Location: The cabin is nestled in the woods off of Wears Valley Road. The road that connects you to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge for hours of entertainment on one side and quaint town of Townsend with access to National Park on the other. The Wears Valley road offers a plethora of fun and conveniences, like Heavenly Roast Coffee shop, XXX Moonshine distillery, Tennessee Mountain View Winery, several antique shops, and of course Elvira’s Cafe for excellent organic food, to Grandmothers Kitchen for a classic grits and gravy type of meal. Surrounded by the mountains and woods, this cabin is perfectly located to satisfy your every craving, be it nature, food, or entertainment.

Amenities: Beautiful modern lighting throughout with smart switches and dimming. Air conditioning and heating controlled by Nest thermostat, electric care-free fireplace to keep you feeling cozy and warm. Midcentury Modern decor with Eames chairs and beautiful sectional with tribal blankets throughout will keep you design spoiled and warm. Hot tub on a large deck, three sleeping areas with queen bed, sectional that converts to a full size bed, and a two tier trundle with single bed setups on each level. Modern shower with the lookout into the woods. The Fire Pit is also available just outside the deck. Please use every precaution when using the fire pit. Ceiling fans installed throughout.

Games: Board games like Jenga, dominos, foosball table, indoor/outdoor game of horseshoe, ring toss, and a modern reproduction of a vintage ATARI game set that allows for dual user gaming straight on the television screen. (Please make sure the console is off after each use, so to not drain the batteries.)

Appliances: Fully equipped modern kitchen with smart oven, top stove, microwave, drip coffee maker, food processor, dishwasher, washer/dryer in one, plentiful pots, pans, mixing bowls, baking trays, and utensils. The smart Roku TV in both nook and living room. The Vinyl player and a 15 vinyl collection of vintage and modern country music will keep you company on a cool rainy nights when you choose to sit by the fire and enjoy a glass of bourbon in the cabin.

Book with confidence, you will not be disappointed!
Guest access
All spaces are open for guests access, accept for crawlspace, and two storage containers in the laundry room.
Other things to note
WIFI:
The area is not covered by a cable provider like Spectrum, Infinity, or others; therefore the only option we could identify for the area is T-Mobile Home Internet at this time - apologies in advance. As we finding out, this provider could be spotty with speeds varying from 2mb - 7mb. Expect speeds to be slower during busy seasons in the area, as performance correlate to a size of the user base).

Heads up! Do feel free to restart the modem, however, refrain from moving it around as the spot it’s in is the best we have been able to identify for the cabin.

Water Well:
The cabin uses well water, please be cognizant how much of the water you use and if you might have a sensitive stomach for a hard water, in the event you choose to drink it. We have a top of the line system processing the water, but with the well water, there’s always some variability in the quality of it. We recommend using bottled water or boil water before drinking it.

Wildlife:
The area is full of wildlife. While its super awesome to observe, we do want you to be conscientious and careful when around it. We have a family of bears frequenting the area surrounding the cabin during the year, except for winter, when they hibernate. Please be aware that bears an open your car doors, as they hunt for food, snacks, or sweet drinks. Make sure to keep your car locked at all times and windows rolled up. The bears have an acute sense of smell and can open car doors without any problems. Please be aware of that and make sure you car and cabin doors are closed as you go in and out of the cabin on arrival or departure. If bears are encountered, use a whistle to make loud noise, or raise hands and make loud noises until they leave. Generally, use common sense and do not try to fight them or chase them out of the car if they are in. They will get what they need and leave. They are also quite the scaredy cats, and will likely not show up when you outside playing, using a fire pit, making noise and enjoying the outdoors. Be aware, but not afraid!

Spring getaway
The cabin is very new and clean. Loved the open area. Beautiful deck with comfortable seating. The host was very prompt to respond when we had a question regarding the smart lighting. Very relaxing area, close to the park entrance. I would recommend this cabin.

Great location!
So easy to get to Smoky Mountain National Park! The cabin was spotless, and had everything we needed to cook. The hot tub was great to relax in after a long hike.

Weekend getaway
The only thing that could make this place better is better internet or cell service. The owners could install a cell phone booster but that’s the only negative thing everything else was awesome
