About the host
Hosted by Carrie Fundingsland

Our parents purchased this property in 1976 when I was three years old and my brother just a baby. Raised under the big sky of Western Montana on the Flathead Reservation, our childhood was shaped by the unique blend of rugged cowboy culture, sustainable living, and Native American traditions.
In 2003, as retirees, our parents converted our home into a bed and breakfast, then strictly as a vacation rental in 2008. We lost our dad in 2013 but our mum soldiered on. In spring of 2024, I left my home in California of 25 years and returned to the big sky to take over as host. The property is a work in a progress - a labor or love - and I'm enjoying being able to spend the time needed to do little updates here and there as time allows. The list is long, but we work hard to make your time here comfortable!

Why they chose this property
One of the most captivating aspects of living in the country is the natural beauty that surrounds you. From the expansive fields on the valley floor to the dense forests in the mountains behind our home, the countryside provides a picturesque backdrop that changes with the seasons. Sunrises and sunsets seem more vibrant, and stargazing on clear nights can't be beat!
What makes this property unique
We may be biased, but we feel we have one of the best views of the valley! With tribal land to the east and a conservation easement to the north, our property offers privacy without being too far from modern day necessities.
Our home's floor plan with three separate sleeping areas works perfectly for large families, friends traveling together, or as a hub for out of town guests attending a wedding.
