The space
Whether you relax by the fireplace, golf, hike, swim, snowboard or hit the slopes, there’s plenty of space and activities for everyone to enjoy year-round at The Homestead at Hidden Valley.
Guests enter the lower level into the Ski Room convenient for storing snow sports gear during the winter.
The second level is where the main living areas are located:
The kitchen boasts a large window overlooking the slopes and clock tower. Equipped with stainless steel appliances and everything you will need to cook a full course meal for just two of you or a larger group.
Off the kitchen you will find the dining area with a stone surround Franklin wood stove and seating for 8-10.
Grab a cuppa from our little café You’ll find a drip coffee maker, French press and electric tea kettle. Stocked with some coffee, tea, and hot chocolate as well creamers and sweeteners it’s a perfect place to jump start your day or wind down after a long adventure outside.
When you’re not outdoors skiing, golfing, boating, or hiking, relax and enjoy the spacious living area. Complete with vaulted ceilings, floor to ceiling wood burning stone fireplace and large windows overlooking the lake it is a wonderful place for friends and family to gather. Relax in our Buttery soft leather couches with a cozy throw. There is a flat screen television with streaming services as well as an old-style radio, Alexa and board games.
From the living room you access the front deck with plenty of space and beautiful views of Lakes George and Helen, the Lodge, and slopes. Equipped with a gas grill, dining table, chairs, built-in couch and a gas fire pit.
There are 4 bedrooms to choose from.
The Master Bedroom on the second level has a king bed, reading nook, plenty of closet space and a full bath. This room is bright and open with large windows with access to the deck. Flat screen TV with streaming device.
The Loft is a full-sized bedroom with a queen bed and full bath overlooking the living area, as well as a TV with streaming device.
On the lower level you’ll find another bedroom with a queen bed, overhead fan, TV with streaming device and easy access to the full bath across the hall.
A personal favorite is The Stone Room offering beautiful stone walls that bring the outdoors inside, a King bed, dedicated workspace, reading nook, en suite half bath, wood stove, and a library of classics and contemporary literature where you can curl up and spend quiet time reading. (This room is also nice for parents with small children as the two reading chairs fully recline and together form a twin bed.)
There is a full sized pull out sofa bed as well as a twin bed with trundle in the Snow Room to accommodate larger groups. A chest of drawers and double closet make for plenty of storage in this room.
The Homestead offers all new linens, a new front load washer and dryer, steamer. Iron, ironing board, and drying rack on the lower level for your convenience.
Why is 114 Imperial Drive called The Homestead?
The house was built in the early 1970’s by George and Helen Parke who owned the original land that Hidden Valley was built on. They lived in this house year-round. The Loft was the former master bedroom, and the house was heated with the same Franklin Stove that is still in the dining room. The deck and current Master bedroom were added on much later.
As Hidden Valley began to grow, George was the major real estate agent, selling his land to early homeowners. The Parkes sold 114 Imperial and built a home at the top of what is now Imperial ski slope. There are many landmarks in Hidden Valley named after them, so as you enjoy Lake George, Lake Helen and travel up the resort on Parke Drive, you can note that you are staying in THE ORIGINAL HOMESTEAD in Hidden Valley…nicely remodeled and redecorated for a more modern taste and for your comfort!
We look forward to helping you create your own lasting memories in this cozy mountain home.
