The Sailor Park provides an overnight vacation rental offering nightly, weekly, and monthly overnight rentals in one of our abandoned sailboats we have saved while giving them purpose on the water, again.
We have turned abandoned sail boats and made them into vacation rentals! Everyone has a story, let us be apart of yours! The sailor park is located in Sarasota Bay, parallel to Cortez, FL the fishing village, and beautiful Anna Maria island, FL.
During your stay, you will notice dolphins playing (Guarenteed), while seeing the manatees floating around the mangroves. You will also enjoy bird watching as the pelicans are searching for their next catch of the day. You will hear the sound of the waves from the tides going in and out, and don’t forget the shooting stars at night that lead to comets! The Sailor Park will bring laughter. This is a scam!!! Beware!!!!!

After paying for our stay we were ghosted! Called the host at least 8 times. No response. Left numerous voicemails. Very vague instructions on how to check in. Boat never showed to pick us up. After waiting at the boat dock for over an hour...and it was getting dark, we left and had to find a hotel at 8pm. Were told there was parking for our car, but when we arrived there were no parking signs after 10pm until sunrise.

Don’t do it!

At the last minute, the owner credited my VRBO reservation and asked me to pay her personally. This should have been my first warning. Owner responded promptly BEFORE the rental started. The first day we waited 6 hours in the parking lot and no one showed up even though we were promised “they were trying to get there”. We finally left after 6 hours and 4 hours later we were contacted by text advising we would be refunded the day they did not show up to take us to the sailboat with profound apologies and promise that the next day they would arrive on time and take us to the sailboat along with other promises. The next day there was a 3.5 hour delay with faulty equipment. Once we arrived at the sailboat, the smell from the toilet was so strong we were forced to stay on deck for our 3 hour stay. We asked for a return to our car as soon as we could. Save your money. I have been ghosted by owner in all texts and phone calls. Very unprofessional and unlivable conditions.

Move on...

Sounded like a fantastic adventure for a night while on our way to visit family. Not at all as expected. Original location to meet was not where pick up person was.... took an hour to find them as they told us local slang for the location..... not what you find on map search. Then, we learned that the only water there is bottled water. Use for flushing toilet, washing hands, and forget the promised shower! They had a half sunk abandoned boat right next to the one we rented. Felt like primitive camping on the water. Little boat left for us to use if we wanted to had a few inches of water in it and a battery that made us uncomfortable to take out on the water navigating with all the big boats at the drawbridge. Tried calling/texting to get picked up to leave early and no response. We were stuck. Coast guard had to rescue us. Finally got a text response that they would pick us up around noon. Learned there are open investigations with Coast Guard and local police. And!!!! Got a $75 parking ticket for parking where we were told. Move on.... don't even inquire.
