Our visit to Henri’s home in Papeete was really nice. There are lots of places to rest and relax and our group enjoyed our day there immensely. The home met our needs perfectly. Henri communicates very well and assisted us in our planning. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay there!
Villa Vaiava was an exceptional experience! Beautifully appointed, very clean, easy to access and views that are beyond gorgeous! And, Henri was an amazing, accommodating and communicative host. Highly recommend staying at Villa Vaiava!!
The snorkeling and location are 10/10! Henri is so knowledgeable about the island and beyond - he was very quick to respond and helpful. Would love to come again!
The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved the pool and the sunsets and snorkeling were amazing. The yard was big and house very roomy and airy with option to open up to get plenty of fresh air.
Thank you Henri for your generosity for allowing us to check in early morning. The house is gorgeous!!! We have seen the best sunsets of our life time. We enjoyed the star fruit, bananas and mongos at the property. We also enjoyed the coconut ice cream at the park next door and the gorgeous beach walks daily. Hope we can come back again in the future!
We had a great stay at the ocean in Tahiti. The snorkeling in front of the house is incredible and the pool was a welcome way to cool off. Gorgeous sunsets. With our group of 10, we had to rearrange the sleeping arrangements as only three of the bedrooms had air conditioning and there were too many mosquitoes to sleep with the windows open. Also, the sofa bed in one bedroom was not functional. The communication with the owner was great and we truly appreciated the flexibility on check-in/check-out times! The kitchen set up was good with the ability to open to the patio area. Lots of room for everyone to sit and relax. Close to many grocery stores and the airport. Overall, a good time. Thanks Henri!
We loved this property for our family vacation. The kitchen that opened to the outdoors was a fun way to prepare and serve meals. We went snorkeling off the steps every day and were amazed by the color and varieties of fish and coral. The water was very warm and beautiful. The owner was very responsive and let us check into the property earlier in the day, which was greatly appreciated. A couple of things that could be improved: 1) having one FOB to get through the locked gate for 9 people was a challenge. There was a key pad on the outside to get in, which was helpful, but you could only get out with the FOB. A keypad or sensor on the inside would have helped greatly. The first day, before we knew we couldn't get out, I knocked on the door of the family member who lived closest to the gate, to ask if we could be let out. I surprised him and his scary dog and he wasn't happy to see me, but let me out. 2) there weren't any kitchen dish towels or cleaning rags. We learned that paper products like paper towels, napkins and plates, aren't used there as much because they're very expensive. So wash cloths and washable towels were needed. We had to use the bath towels as kitchen towels and keep washing them. 3) we had to buy extra toilet paper and garbage sacks after the first couple of days. You have to buy all your drinking water in gallon jugs so we had lots of recycling and garbage to deal with. Just a few tips if you're considering this property.
This property is located adjacent to the public Vaiava beach in Puna'auia. The entrance to the driveway is very difficult to find at night and its on a busy main road. There are several grocery markets nearby and also several gas stations. There is direct access from the property to the beach via a private gate and a shower with soap for the exit. The property also has an infinity edge swimming pool. The check-in instructions were very clear and we also were able to have an early check in and late check out. Henri the host was very responsive both before, during and after the rental. The house had initial supplies of basics like toilet roll, coffee, shampoo etc. An abundance of towels and beach towels. In addition, the lagoon was an excellent spot for snorkeling and several fins and masks, a boogie board and paddle board were also available. The kitchen was very well equipped and had an excellent wind up shutter to allow service inside and out. All appliances were almost new and were functional. There was no kettle to boil water for tea! The house had AC in 3 bedrooms but not in the 4th, fan only. There was no AC in the main house, just a small fan. There needs to be several fans to move the air. Main bedroom and living room had TV. A nice touch was the fully decorated Christmas Tree in the living room. There are tons of bugs and mosquitoes and there were some smoke rings to help but this is not adequate. We tried insect repellent etc. Not sure what the answer to this is.
