This was a very nice house. Jay was great at getting back to us timely. The theatre room was nice to have on our rainy day. Overall a great house with lots of stuff to do.
Inviting lakeside home with all the amenities! Our family absolutely loved this property and we’ve been to quite a few VRBO’s. The space was fully equipped for fun family time!
Everyone enjoyed their stay at this beautiful property and location.

We held a small family reunion (10 adults) and everyone loved the accommodations. The house was a perfect size. The dining area was comfortable for large group dinnersand
We totally enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room to spread out and dining seating to accommodate our large group. Gazebo, firepit, game room, movie room, pontoon and fishing were great fun.
Great property for large extended family. Description of house, amenities, supplies, etc. are accurate. Host Jay is very responsive to messages. Fishing is great once you figure out the lake. Groceries and supplies are nearby.
This place was so fun for our extended family to be able to gather and have enough space to enjoy spending time together. The views, fun toys, and wildlife were amazing not to mention very comfortable beds to sleep in at night! Would definitely like to return some day.

Disliked: Cleanliness
The owner was exceptionally responsive and one of the best hosts we’ve worked with. Communication before and during our stay was outstanding, and whenever an issue came up, he responded quickly and genuinely tried to make it right. Unfortunately, the condition of the property did not match our expectations for the price. We are seasoned VRBO/Home renters and from the price and the description, we expected a clean, well-maintained home, but found the overall cleanliness disappointing. Some bed sheets were not washed, there were crumbs on the tables and kitchen counters, there were visible dust and cobwebs, and several areas of the home simply did not feel well cared for. The host mentioned he was implementing a new checklist system for his cleaners. The pontoon also needed significant cleaning and maintenance (moldy seats, front door didn't close, etc) There was plenty for the kids to enjoy, and we had a wonderful family vacation. Caught many fish! Northern's, Bass, Dogfish, Crappies, Misc Panfish. However, I think it’s important for future renters to understand that this is a very rustic property. If that’s what you’re looking for, it may be a good fit. We simply felt the condition of the home did not reflect its premium price. Again, the host was exceptionally communicative.

Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed review. I’m very glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay, had a great family vacation, and especially that you were able to catch so many fish! I also truly appreciate your kind comments about my communication and responsiveness as a host.
I’m disappointed that the cleanliness and condition of the property did not meet your expectations. I take that feedback seriously, and I agree that the home and outdoor amenities should be presented and maintained to the standard our guests expect.
As I mentioned during your stay, I had already identified some shortcomings with my cleaning process and was in the process of implementing a more detailed cleaning and inspection checklist. Your experience reinforced the importance of that change, and I have taken additional steps to improve the cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of the house, the pontoon boat, and the outdoor spaces.
Thank you again for staying with us and for the positive feedback about your experience as guests. I’m glad your family was able to enjoy the lake, the fishing, and everything the property has to offer, and I hope the improvements I’ve made will provide future guests with the experience they deserve.
Sincerely, your host Jay
A great house in a great location. The house is very well equipped in all areas especially the kitchen & has a plethora of entertainment options. The lake is just the right size, and quieter than the bigger lakes. We had plenty of room for our extended family.
11 of us stayed at this beautiful lake home. It was well stocked with all the necessities, dish soap, laundry soap, toilet paper, ect. The pontoon was great fun, as were the kyaks. An outdoor fire pit was great for a campfire with lots of chairs available. We have a great time.
Excellent Property for All Ages! It really has it all, from the A/C in each bedroom, movie theatre and TV's throughout. Pontoon, kayaks, paddleboards, life vests and a full game room and in the garage! You will not be board staying here! House was very clean check in/out was seamless. We will definitely add this place to the last to return to in the future!
Overall, it was a nice stay. There was a lot to keep the kids busy from swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking to the game room in the garage. The cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood so it was peaceful! We took many walks, such a beautiful area and loved hearing the loons each day as well as seeing a bald eagle that would perch it’s self in a tree above the cabin! We had 13 people staying at the cabin and it was nice to all have a bed and to be able to spread out, the theater room was a huge plus!! Would definitely stay here again!!
This place had everything you could ask for. The garage game room, movie theater, pontoon, kayaks and so much more. We stayed for 3 nights and there was so much left to do, it was hard to leave. Beds were very comfortable and the AC worked well - you just had to go into each room and turn them on high and open the doors for the house to cool down.
Would be happy to come back again.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The house was set up well for the large group we had with 4 sets of adults and kids ranging from age 1 to 16. The house is older but everything was working as needed. The yard was a good space but the landscaping could use some work, lots of weeds and overgrown areas, especially down by the dock where it would've been nice to have a less weedy area. Floating dock was broken. Kayaks and paddle boards were nice to have. Pontoon worked great. Lake is very weedy throughout and not very deep but we were able to catch some northerns and other small fish.
This property's biggest draw for our family was its variety of activities: swimming (although a weedy lake, our kids didn't mind), fishing--both off the dock and on the pontoon; use of the pontoon whenever we wanted; amazing game room in the garage with ping pong, pool, air hockey, skeet ball machine, croquet, and badminton; tether ball; a large lot for just running around and game playing;and a movie room that was amazing. The neighborhood is quiet but we were close enough to town to run in for any supplies needed. The house is well-stocked with basic supplies This property worked so well for our extended family of 14--in fact, the little ones didn't want to leave!
Our group of 9 ladies have been doing an annual getaway at different VRBOs for a few years. This is the first time we have already decided to return next year to this one. The Sanctuary is unique in the amenities and extras it provides. It is clean, well stocked with a huge variety of outside recreation equipment and yard games. Linens, beddings, towels were great quality and kitchen had everything. Even two refrigerators available for those of us who bring WAY TOO MUCH FOOD. Jay was a great host who answered all questions. We had such a fun time and were so very comfortable here. Definitely consider this house!!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. While we did have a few maintenance and cleaning issues, Jay addressed them quickly and did everything he could to make it right. There was a great selection of activities for all of the ages in our group from the 5yr old kids to the 65yr old grandparents. Very relaxing spot to spend with family.
The proximity to golf courses and the lake access made this house a perfect location for four couples to relax and have fun. The kitchen was well-equipped and there were plenty of dishes and glassware. We enjoyed a nightly bonfire after a leisurely pontoon ride. We even got in a couple of games of pool and air hockey!
The gas grill, pontoon and kayaks could use a good cleaning but the interior was spotless and well maintained.
While there really isn’t a beach area, the yard was large and patio area sufficient for our needs. The sunsets over the lake were a beautiful orange due to the smoky haze.
This house would be perfect for 3-4 couples or large families who don’t mind sharing bathrooms as there are plenty of sleeping spots - especially the comfy theater recliners!

Thank you Ted, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay - it was my pleasure hosting your group. Thank you for your feedback on the boats and grill - I will be adding an additional outdoor space caretaker to the mix to help with the maintenance of those amenities. I will also be adding more sand to the beach this fall to widen it as much as the DNR allows. Thanks again, and I hope to see you again at Sanctuary at Norway Lake, or one of my other vacation rental properties.
