About this property

Welcome to the Garland House, lovingly and historically maintained since it was built in 1821.

Fully furnished with antique touches like braided rugs, hubbard chairs, low ceilings, wide plank floors, cozy hand made quilts, paned glass windows, and flag stone steps. Four bedrooms, 2 bath, full kitchen, dining area, living room, porch and deck to lawn and forest views, with frequent hawk and deer visits.

Free strong signal wifi, summer AC in bedrooms and on porch. We are on rural road surrounded by classic New England stone walls, big maples, ample outdoor space, nature trails, and wild pocket gardens.

Just off the beaten path, you are still only a 10 minute drive to beaches, and a 20 minute drive to Portsmouth, offering a plethora of restaurants, entertainment, music, historical spots, shopping, cultural events, and a wide variety of diversions and excursions.

Little more than an hour out for hiking or skiing in the White Mountains, a day in Boston or Salem MA, or an excursion to Portland ME. We are a good midstop if onway to Acadia Park, VT, or one of rhe southern NE states. Oh you’ll have so many options to explore!
