Welcome to Santa Teresa's Barefoot Oceanfront House set on over an acre of tropical gardens stepping onto a white sand beach which stretches miles in both directions.

Casa Salina has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a kitchens with a dinning area. All four bedrooms are more than spacious, detailed custom and high ceilings. Two of the master suites have their own bathroom and one of them a bathtub.
A dining area that seats ten. Large patio and a private pool with custom made teak patio furniture for your outside living enjoyment. The house is all opened up to enjoy the outside elements and all the rooms closed to enjoy the air conditioned. You couldn't get any closer to the sounds, smells and feel of the blue Pacific Ocean. Unlimited surfing right out your front gate. This beach has been rated #5 in the world for the most consistent waves. A surfer’s paradise. Please note, we do not rent to separate parties at the same time.

Comes with full staff to cater to all your needs, including security company 6pm to 6am every night exclusive to our property only, gardener/caretaker, housekeeper, and manager/concierge. The grounds could be described as a 'park-like' setting, lush and beautiful with a variety of trees and plants. Howler monkeys during the day and fireflies at night. We are walking distance to markets and great restaurants. Located right in the prestigious area of Santa Teresa. Private yoga classes, massages, gourmet chefs, can be brought to you in the comforts of your own home. Enjoy your favorite meals while tipping your toes in the sand.

Great house in great location

Great Week!

We enjoyed this house with two other families. It was great. Santa Teresa is a wonderful corner of the world. Beautiful things to see and kind people abound. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful Christmas stay

We spent a week here over Christmas with my sister and family. The location is amazing...right on the beach and the sunsets are out of this world! Marciel, the house manager, is wonderful and very responsive. Our only big disappointment is that the master bungalow was not available when we arrived. When two families are traveling together, it was important to have 2 “ masters” which we didnt have. Otherwise, our stay was great. Howler monkeys in the yard, walk to Playa Hermosa and short drive to town on ATVs. Would highly recommend!!

Paradise Found!

I can't say enough good things about the wonderful week we spent at Casa Kalafken. The compound (because it was so much more than a house) was amazing and the pool beautifuly designed with ample shade and beautiful views. We were 3 families who came to Santa Teresa to surf and quickly discovered we landed in the perfect spot. Playa Hermosa was just up the beach and Pranamar Yoga Retreat Hotel was close by with a great restaurant, yoga classes and spa services. Our hosts went out of their way to help us so that the week went smoothly - from airport shuttles to nature tours and restaurant reservations - they couldn't do enough to make sure we had a fabulous week. Now that we're back home, the only problem I can think of is how soon can we return!

Amazing family vacation- we will be back!

We just returned from a week in paradise at Casa Kalafken! Bettina was so helpful in planning and great communicating with us both before and during our trip. Maricel came to check on us every morning and assisted us in planning activities like zip lining in Montezuma. The pictures are completely accurate and it is beautiful! We had family staying down the road who came over for dinner a few nights but it is also so close to town that we enjoyed all that the area had to offer. There are great tide pools for the kids to the left and the amazing Playa Hermosa to the right. We surfed and boogie boarded with the kids everyday. The housekeeping was perfect! The views and grounds are amazing. Thank you Bettina for a vacation we won't forget and can't wait to repeat!

One of my most favorite houses we have ever vacationed at!!

Can't say enough good things about this house and our experience. Bettina was so nice to deal with when we booked the house & Maricel took great care of us all once we got to the house. The house itself is just gorgeous! We really enjoyed the open air living room and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped for anything you may need to cook while you are there. The pool was our favorite part of the house for sure. We loved being right on the water. Spent alot of time in the tide pools right in front of the house. Prana Mar is steps from the house if you want to go out for dinner or cocktails. Maricel arranged groceries delivered right to the house. She also arranged massages & a great horseback riding trip. For animal lovers there was also a "house dog" on the premises who also watched over us...miss you Pepito!!! We will be back for sure!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!!!

Great location, beautiful, but odd layout

Enjoyed the stay but the layout is odd. Seems like 4 one bedrooms, two with a shared bath. There is no comfortable common space to hang out together i.e. couches, TV's, lounge area. Was tough to socialize as group. Very limited/basic outdoor albeit covered kitchen. No oven, dishwasher... Only three loungers by the pool. Pool is small and cold so we basically never used it. Master bed is floor above outdoor master bath. Property is spaceous, lots of natural shade, but underutilized. Tourists come on property regularly from beach looking for street access which was annoying, largely due to no private signs and after dark, ineffective token security. Overall we enjoyed it, location is amazing, beach and sunsets amazing, but not for everyone.

Lovely location, great concierge but a huge building site right next door that starts banging at 6am

The house is in a fantastic location, a great design and good feel. The concierge goes beyond the call of duty, but... We paid peak season prices for the property and the owner neglected to tell us that there is a huge VERY noisy building site next door. With only limited holiday time, this vacation we were woken up at 6am daily. At times it was so loud, you could not have a conversation in the living area. Aside from the site it is a nice house, albeit a bit tired and not that clean. The outdoor bathrooms are a lovely touch but a not so practical. They have bats at night that pee and poo everywhere. They are also infested with ants - one can certainly not sit on the loo as they tend to congregate there. Most of the outside furniture was very stained, it did get washed when I complained. In terms of location, design and the lovely concierge it is a 5star property. Cleanliness maybe a 3 star. We approached the owner about the building site ( which certainly did not spring up last minute- it has been there for a while and will continue for a while) and they offered us to come back and stay when the building is done. A kind gesture, but given we traveled for 14 hours to experience tranquility, I wish she had alerted us before as we would have gone to the hotel further down the beach - spotless, quiet and cheaper...

Amazing Location and Property!

Casa Salina was a perfect destination for our trip to Santa Teresa. It's located right in the heart of Santa Teresa, near all the restaurants and bars you'll want to go to. And it's also beachfront, one of the best waterfront properties in the town. The house is ideal for a group of guests with many different spots to gather and to have your private space, from the open air kitchen and dining area, to pool, to decks. The property is huge with hammocks, seats, and reclining chairs. You walk right onto the beach, and at low tide, the pools between the rocks become like hot tubs. The staff here is great — the rooms and common spaces are cleaned daily, as are the pool and the whole property is raked every morning. Laundry is available and the house manager and staff help you with everything including booking spa appointments (to come to the house!), babysitters, etc. We will definitely stay here again!

This property is even more beautiful in person. We had an amazing week. Everyone was helpful, the rooms were clean, and the pool and yard were absolutely breathtaking. I would highly recommend staying here. The kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils making eating at home easy. The local food was amazing too! We couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We hope to return soon!

Magical

I highly recommend this house for your next vacation. I have stayed in Santa Teresa 10+ times and below is my unbiased unpaid thoughts: 1) Being on the beach is better than a beach view from the mountains. The ability to simply walk to the sand had us enjoying nature far more often than the wonderful houses we've stayed in on the mountain over the last decade; 2) The view of the ocean through palm trees with monkeys in them is hard to explain in words. Of our 8 guests nobody read a single page from their books. Intoxicatingly magical as we often just talked and watched the waves and sunsets; 3) The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and the guard keeps you secure. This helps when in an area unknown to many travelers. Always made to feel as though nothing was too hard for them to accommodate; 4) The area is super quiet. And in busy season (Feb for us) we saw a few people near us on the beach as far as you could see for our week. Once we heard a neighbor. Very private; 5) The rooms are nice. I won't bother describing everything because we spend our time sleeping in the room and 90% of our time outside. 6) The house requires a car to get to town, which is maybe a mile or so down the single road. 7) Plenty of restaurants, one on the beach just 2 doors down (yoga retreat). Quiet and nice to be able to walk for dinner. In summary, those that joined us on this trip said it was the most beautiful place they have ever stayed. If you are thinking of coming to ST I highly recommend this for families/romance/nature.

MY FAMILY AND ME LOVED CASA KALAFKEN! THANK YOU

Hi everyone! My name is Belen, from Argentina. We stayed in Casa Kalafken 15 days with my entire family. We loved everything about it. Its just perfect for us. You know in Costa Rica is Hot! So, this house has amazing trees and a beautiful pool to hang out all the time. Its so Costa Rica's style. With its rooms private and cool baths, all rooms are different so it work out perfect for all our needs. My sister had a baby so she had a comfort room near the common area. My parents when for the tent experience, and loved it. People working at the house where super nice and helpful, They actually help up getting fresh fish and with everything we need. Just imagine that the only cons I can say about the house is that it need need speakers haha! We loved casa kalafken. We are going back next year~!!!

This property was just as beautiful as the pictures.

This house was perfect for our vacation. The staff was extremely helpful and great to work with. They kept the property immaculate every day we were there. There was a little road noise but that is how beachfront properties are in Santa Teresa. We have traveled to Costa Rica several times and this is our favorite location. It is such a fun little beach town with great beginner surfing. This house is in a perfect location. It is private and just a short walk from the greatest beach ever.

Best Home in Playa Hermosa/Santa Teresa!

This is quite possibly the best place to stay in Playa Hermosa/Santa Teresa! The space is amazing with three very separate villas that provide tons of privacy when needed and great common area when you want to be together. Our days consisted of morning yoga (5 minute walk down the beach), lounging by the pool drinking beers, hanging out in the large tide pool just out front, surfing, a couple trips into town and watching every sunset on a lounge chair on the beach. The staff was great and very responsive. Maricel was able to help us with anything that we needed, from taxis to fresh fish deliveries, she was very helpful! Before arriving Betina was wonderful to work with. Would love to come back here again! Helpful Hints: The property is just outside of Santa Teresa so having a car or renting an ATV would be a good idea if you are wanting to spend a lot of time in town. Taxis each way are about $12 so if you are making a lot of trips an ATV or car might be best.

Paradise.

If you are looking for the perfect place to really relax and recharge your batteries; look no further. This amazing property has a feel of being completely remote and isolated while still being close to town for dining and shopping. Every day is perfect at Casa Kalafken! Wake up and enjoy fresh fruit and domestic coffee, go for a walk on the beach, a swim or surf in the ocean. Refuel your body in the open air kitchen/dining/chill area. Have a siesta by the pool then wake up and practice some yoga or a workout. Enjoy a sunset from the pool, the beach or the quiet tiki bar just 200 meters north along the beach (great pina coladas!) Also the properties staff, caretakers and concierge are happy to provide as much or as little as is required to make your stay exactly what you need it to be. Whatever you dream of as a perfect tropical vacation Casa Kalafken is the place where you can realize the dream! Probably the best place I have ever vacationed.

Always dreamed of the perfect place for sunsets

Can't believe I finally found what I would call paradise. Was very sad to leave such an amazing piece of property but now I'm inspired by the ocean and perfect water and beach right out front of our door. I could spend a month here and enjoy a meal at Pranamar after sunset twice a week. Nothing like a relaxing meal with a delicious fruity drink after a long hot day enjoying the ocean The staff was excellent and Franklin and his dog friend are a great addition seemed like Bettina really has a smooth running retreat at the edge of paradise. Might have been most beautiful place I've ever played frisbee too. Thanks for the soul recharge
