This home overlooks the harbor, void of loud noises of the mainland you can take in the captivating nature that surrounds you. Listen to the wind, waves and birds off the two-story balcony.
Smith Island is a collection of three distinct communities. Tylerton, Rhodes Point and where you’ll be staying Ewell, Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay which borders the Maryland and Virginia territorial waters for seasonal crabbing and oyster trails. Located approximately 12 miles west of Crisfield, Maryland in Somerset County. Because it’s an island one might think there’s not much to do however adventure awaits the explorers and nature lovers and is an island playground.
Things to do on the island:
Kayak the inlets and marsh

On this island you will find residents live just like their ancestors did a hundred years ago. A community comprised of a welcoming atmosphere and good ole fashioned small town vibes.
Did you know that most people here make a living off the Maryland Blue Crab which are the most valuable commercial fishery? The annual catch from the Chesapeake Bay accounts for over 50 percent of the total landing. Without a doubt incredibly delicious freshly caught. Peak season is from April to the end of November. The biggest, heaviest crabs are typically harvested during the fall months September through November.
Please note that alcohol can not be purchased on the island you must bring your own. There is a general store for staple items however you may want to consider bringing a cooler of meats, produce and drinks. Binoculars are also awesome to have handy. You are surrounded by water so off spray and hat netting is nice to have in case you need it. Wi-Fi installation scheduled
