This property is the polar opposite of the "apart-hotels" with their automated check ins and zero human interactions. It is unique and for that reason may not appeal to travelers who only want to enter a computer generated code to access their room. So if you want sterile and modern, this is not the place for you. But for us, it was our best stay in Spain. We were met at the house by the host, who then gave us a tour of the property including its very interesting history. The house dates from the 1900s and has recently been meticulously and carefully restored, with period furniture and authentic finishes. Our rooms were clean and beautiful, one looked out on the back garden and the other looked out on the side garden and very quiet street in front. There is a shared bathroom on the hall which was not a problem because we were a family group. (The bathroom was the only modern addition to the house. It was very tasteful and had a wonderful shower.) We volunteered to take our shoes off in order to not damage the floors. While our host indicated that we could keep them on if we wished, we removed them anyway. We did have to carry our bags up two flights of stairs to reach the bedroom level-- which was not a problem for us but may be for other guests. Our host was on site during our stay and gave us dinner and breakfast recommendations within walking distance. The small town is extremely peaceful and historic-- a true piece of old Spain. Highly recommend- would stay again.
