About this property

Downtown Bungalow in the Arts District

Summary:
Welcome to the Rodney Street Arts District in Historic Helena. This home is steps away from everything Helena has to offer. Enjoy the vibrant, colorful Rodney Street Arts District for some breakfast and head two blocks the other direction to experience all that downtown has to offer. Helena's best restaurants and breweries are within a quarter mile radius of this home. Best of all, you can access over 70 miles of trails from only a few minutes walk from the house.

The Space:
Built by a Montana pioneer during the Last Chance Gulch gold rush in 1866, this two bedroom one bathroom home has been thoughtfully and lovingly updated to maintain some of its quirks, charm, and original features. You can't get closer than this to all that Helena offers.

The South Hills Trail System, just a few minutes walk from the front door, boasts beautiful mountain views and views overlooking the city across its endless miles of trails for hiking, running, and mountain biking. For a night in, enjoy beautiful Montana sunsets from the private, fenced in backyard and patio.

Bedrooms:
Both bedrooms have comfortable queen beds. The first bedroom is on the main level of the home with direct access to the bathroom. There is plenty of storage with the original built in closets and drawers. The second bedroom is upstairs with a loft style low ceiling and a Smart TV. In the warm weather months, there is a portable AC unit installed in the upstairs bedroom window.

Kitchen:
The kitchen has been thoughtfully updated with a peaceful view of the private backyard. Help yourself to coffee, tea, and essential cooking ingredients.

Living and Dining:
Cozy up in the living room or gather for a meal or game night in the dining area that seats up to six guests. In the warm weather months, there is a portable AC unit installed in dining area window to allow airflow to both the dining, living, and even into the downstairs bedroom.

Office/Loft:
There is a dedicated workspace and reading corner in the loft space upstairs.

Laundry:
The washer and dryer are available to you in the mudroom.

Backyard:
Watch your step when coming in and out of the backdoor entrance. Enjoy the private patio, grill and large grassy area.

Guest Access:
You will have access to the entire home, parking space, and backyard. It's all yours!

The Neighborhood:
This is located just 2 blocks from downtown on a main street. Keep in mind that you may hear road noise, but you will be in a great location to access the best of Helena!

Getting Around:
There is one designated parking spot in the driveway. The driveway is narrow, so please be highly attentive when driving in and out, or feel free to utilize the free, unlimited time parking on the opposite side street curb.

Other Things to Note:
- Many of the windows are original to 1866. Please be gentle when opening and closing them. The windows in the living room do not open, but please feel free to make use of the windows that do open and the storm doors for airflow. There are two air conditioning units to help with the daytime heat.

- The driveway is narrow, so please be highly attentive when driving in and out, or feel free to utilize the free, unlimited time parking on the opposite side street curb.

Interaction with Guests:
We are just a message away if you need anything during your stay.
