About this property
Wilderness Beech Cabin on Private Lake
Goudy Pond offers a place to get away from it all. Located in CNY, our cabins offer an oasis from the demands of modern life. Its tranquil natural beauty provides a place to relax and recharge. Goudy Pond is a 22 acre private lake fed by natural springs and surrounded by wilderness and acres of a wetlands teaming with wildlife. Kayaks, canoes, paddle boats are provided. Enjoy swimming, hiking, fishing. No electricity, however there are flush toilets, hot shower, propane for lights and cooking.
The space
These are wilderness cabins! If you are looking for TV, WiFi, electricity - this is not the place for you. NO ELECTRICITY. Loud parties are not tolerated. If you are looking to get away in a beautiful place with peace and tranquility, swimming, boating, hiking, fishing and camp fires - this is the place for you. There is a propane light in main living area, propane stove, gas grill on deck, firewood available for purchase, free use of boats. There are 3 cabins on the lake, but with enough distance between them to ensure privacy. Each cabin is next to the lake with private access.. You will need to bring your own bedding and flashlights for bedrooms and outside. There is no refrigerator, but we do provide a cooler on the deck. You will want to bring ice and perhaps another cooler if you have a lot to keep cold. Some drinking water is provided, but you will want to bring some of your own depending on your needs. This cabin has the best views of the lake and the marsh area. The sound of the running water trickling off the water wheel at the nearby is wonderful and soothing here. It is at the end of the access road, so no cars will travel by this cabin. There is a shared beach area for swimming and boating and this is close to this cabin. Therefore during the day, you may see and hear other renters at the beach area. This cabin may work well for families that want to hang out at the beach a lot.
Guest access
There are 3 cabins on our lake that we list on Aribnb. All cabins are spaced for privacy (you can not see another cabin from your cabin). This cabin has the best views of the lake and the marsh area. The sound of the running water is wonderful here. It is at the end of the access road, so no cars will travel by this cabin. There is a shared beach area for swimming and boating and this is close to this cabin. Therefore during the day, you may see and hear other renters at the beach area.
Other things to note
We do allow pets, but we charge a $25 pet fee for first, $10 each additional per pet (per stay, not per night), payable in cash on arrival. We ask that dogs keep off the furniture and that barking does not disturb the peace and tranquility of Goudy Pond.
