About this property

Lakefront Cottage Charlotte location, near White Water, Belmont, Airport

This 2 bedroom cottage style unit is on the second floor and there is a 1 bedroom unit below this one that is also available.
The building was built right on the water's edge and has an amazing view of the main channel. This in town location is close to everything. That being said there is a lot to do without leaving the property.
You can rent a pontoon boat right from your dock. If don't want to captain a boat a
tour service will pick you up from the dock and bring you back. If you are considering coming after April 2025 a new restaurant will be open and is just a short walk away.
Since this is a duplex guests should plan for a quite stay. In the common areas there is a hot tub, and outdoor shower, a boat dock and a large fire pit.
We have use guidelines that allow all guests to make sure all guests get a private use of these amenities.
A note to guests we do have a small family of feral cats that live on the property.
This place has had a long history of pets just showing up. We have found the owners of some and found homes for others. ( We have 2 dogs and 1 Cat at our home that came from there, Th cats are fixed and a feral cat organization comes by and makes sure they are healthy. We feed them and built them a home. They are mostly shy of people but you will see them around.

We had everything we needed. We loved cooking on the pellet grill, definitely buying one when we get back home. We loved the wild cats, we bought treats for them and they never were a bother. It's so quiet and peaceful. We ended up renting a boat on property and enjoying a day on the lake with our family. Our host Bob was fantastic and checked on us to make sure we were comfortable. The laundry area also was very convenient. We enjoyed our month stay.

Such a great place to stay for a girls trip, loved being able to hang out on the deck and dock by the water to relax. Very quiet setting, remote and beautiful. Would recommend staying at Bob’s place anytime you’re in the area!

My husband and I had a really nice stay. The house itself, stairs, and the decor could use a little maintenance and replacement, but overall good. It looks like they've maybe already started working on this issue. You can't beat the view!! The yard and dock are pretty. The neighborhood cats are friendly. If you are really tall the bathroom will feel too narrow, like your knees will touch the tub, but the shower/tub is big and relaxing. The hot tub outside is well maintained, but if you're on the upper floor just note that you need to walk down the front steps and around the house to the lower floor's porch. We will very likely return.

We are Bob and Kim and we are lake enthusiast. We own homes on several of the lakes in the area. We presently live on a lake close by and we love this place so much we spend many weekends here. We hope you will love it as we do.

Why they chose this property

We lived here at one time and knew we could never part with it. Mile View is not an investment for us. She is part of the family. We know that if you stay here and get to know Mountain Island Lake you will be 'hooked' too.
If you need to be in or around the city for any reason there is
no other lake front property available closer or more convenient. The airport is truly just 10 minutes away.
You would never guess that you were so close to everything
when you are at Mile View. The county has bought all but three
house to build a future 100+ acre lake front park. Rosella
is surrounded by the park and lake. There is a small vacation
home to the left that you can see. Other than that it is trees,
lake and sky!

What makes this property unique

Many of our guests come to experience the National Whitewater Center. If you come, we strongly suggest you visit there. It's a man made river rapids that you can kayak or do a guided raft run. This is the only man made Olympic qualifying rapids in the country.
There is vertical rock climbing, zip lining and a lot more outdoor adventures. If you don't feel quite that adventurous there is a riverside restaurant where you can get a great meal and a glass of wine while you watch crazy people careen down a wall of water and rocks. There are also summer concerts and island sunset parties. It costs just $5 to park and nothing to visit the center. You can drive from Rosella, park your car, and walk to the river's edge in less than 10 minutes.
