Property was clean and very close to Mammoth Spring with a view of Spring River. The tv is all streaming and sometimes would pause or spin. We discovered though that we didn’t seem to have that problem if we were on Netflix. There is a dvd player so you might want to bring some movies with you. The bed downstairs is the one we chose because the one upstairs I just pushed on it with my hand and it was a very squeaky noisy bed that would have drove me crazy every time one of us moved. The bed downstairs was comfortable but too soft for us but it was ok. The kitchen had adequate dishes. We cooked scrambled eggs a couple of times. There aren’t a whole lot of restaurants in Mammoth Spring or Thayer. Hardy has several. Our favorites were The Bluff steakhouse in Hardy on 63, and Cielito Lindo in Thayer. There’s also not a whole lot to do in the area. We were there for 4 nights. We went to Grand Gulf State Park, Mammoth Spring, Hardy shops on Main Street, and the shops in Mammoth Spring. Since it was so hot while we were there, we came back to the house each afternoon to cool off then went back out for dinner. Also if your cell service is through T-Mobile be prepared to not have any service in Thayer or Mammoth Spring. Other than that it was a nice extended weekend getaway.
We loved it! Great space in the living room with the open floor plan. It was clean and neat. Definitely will plan another fishing trip and stay at this same location.
The cabin was as described. They have min-splits in the LR, and both bedrooms.
The unit was not preheated at all so a bit chilly until the units were working for a while.
There was supposed to be internet but it wasn't woking properly and caused major issues with work I needed to get done.
There were mouse traps in the kitchen, one actually on the counter. Kudos to the host for working on the issue but somewhat disconcerting to see it actually on the counter (was behind the microwave).
Upstairs bedroom bed wasn't very comfortable, started there as waking up to seeing the river through the sliding doors was an attractive thought. Also there was only 1 outlet which was taken up by the internet box. No sidetable lamp.
Unfortunately the beaming light indicator on the split, coupled with the thin blinds in the doors and the flashing streetlight (it kept going on and off) made sleep impossible, even with a mask.
Moved downstairs to that bedroom which had blackout curtains and a softer bed. Didn't realize until I stripped the bed that the sheets had worn holes in them. Had sufficient outlets.
Would recommend additional curtainsnin the top bedroom, new mattresses and better internet level/connection.
Bathroom heated with a portable space heater and had good, immeduate hot water, luscious towels.
Washer and dryer in bathroom which had 4 outlets.
