We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and peaceful place. The house, the grounds, the view, and the amenities were all amazing. We couldn’t have picked a better place to hang out and visit with family.
The house and location were perfect for our group. The house had lots of room and was comfortable. The a/c was great and kept us comfortable in the warm weather. The only issue was the jacuzzi tub jets didn't work. I will definitely be looking to rent again.
Everything was great from check-in to check-out. There was room for the entire family, plus room to spare. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and trip! Thank you John for opening up your home to us!
Far from city bustle, this well furnished lodge was the perfect get away for 4 couples with lifelong friendships. Quiet, beautiful; birds everywhere, deer. Runs & walks on little traveled country roads, fishing at the nearby reservoir, great internet for staying in touch with the outside world or watching a movie, and the perfect place to talk and enjoy our friendship.
We had a really nice time over the weekend. The views and property were beautiful, peaceful and quiet.
The home is well taken care of and plenty of space for our kids. Starlink high speed internet, and super easy to pop into Heppner if anything needed.
Grateful we found with short notice for Memorial Day weekend. Thank you John the owner for having such a great place to stay!
Will return for another stay.
We enjoyed our 3-day stay at this large, comfortable country cabin. We especially loved the high-ceiling living room, open dining room and spacious, well-equipped kitchen. 2 of the bedrooms downstairs are co-joined so there is private space for up to 5 people. Good times!! We will return! Thanks.
We needed a last minute getaway for Father’s Day for a family of 6, plus pets. It was literally last minute. John was so communicative and helpful, and the home was lovely; everything we could have asked for. He even had recommendations for where we could fish. Being able to escape to the quiet and serenity was just what we needed, and we immediately started talking about when we could come back.
Great stargazing place. Fun, comfortable property. Dog friendly.
Us 3 ladies are all 50+ and had a great stay. Hosts were great, very communicative. Kitchen well equipped. Decor not for the faint of heart, but the critters on the walls didn't phase us. Owls on the drive in and a buck near the crossing. Doe and 2 youngsters on the hill. Coyotes, cows, a horse, dragonfly, butterfly, and some birds serenading us, maybe chuckers or pheasant, not from the Seattle area for sure. Definitely recommend for getting away from the city. Thank you!
This is the first time using a vacation rental and we had no idea what to expect. John was extremely communicative, we had no problem finding the cabin and it was spot on, there was even a slide off the deck for the toddler!
Its partially fenced, but far enough back from the main road that we didn't have to worry about the dogs or baby being unsafe. We saw pheasants, deer, and horses that came right up to the fence lines!
John had plenty of extra blankets, towels, fully equipped kitchen and awesome internet. We would love to come back!
Great house for a family get together. Good location for day trips to John Day Fossil beds and the town of Fossil. Close to town for groceries. Everything we needed at the house was there.
The people from heppner are friendly we went to the water park the grocery store was well stocked and the property was big enough for a good football and basketball game we loved it.
We had a lovely time, playing board games, cooking, watching the birds and the stars. The wildlife viewing was spectacular. It was also the perfect distance from home to make touring some of Eastern Oregon’s best attractions within a day trip distance with the baby.
We wanted a quiet get away and this was perfect! The owners were great and available if we needed them. The house had everything we needed or wanted! We would come again!
Beautiful area. Quiet and serene. Comfortable, well equipped house.

Everything was great.
Great place a lot of beds for family and friends. There’s a group of about 30 deer that make there way down to the alfalfa feilds next to the house every morning and night. The town is bigger then I thought it would be and there golf course was great for a little 9 hope course. Also met the bar tender Molly she was great and gave us a back story on the town and some folks in the town. Thanks again John
