Beautiful Log Cottage is ideal for couples, small families, and quiet getaways with friends. It sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 sleeping spaces: a king bedroom, a queen bedroom, and a separate sleep cabin with a queen bed for added privacy. The main cottage features a bright great room with a wall of windows overlooking the lake, a full kitchen, one bathroom with shower, a sun porch, propane fireplace, Wi-Fi, Netflix, good cell service, and board games for relaxed evenings indoors.
Days here can be as active or as restful as you like. Swim, paddle, read in the shade, enjoy meals outdoors, barbecue with family, or roast marshmallows under a sky full of stars. The cottage offers the privacy and charm of a true Northern Ontario retreat while remaining close to the conveniences of town.
The Town of Mattawa is just 5 km away, with groceries, pharmacy services, hospital care, restaurants, golf, a museum, and friendly small-town hospitality. Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park and the surrounding area offer easy access to nature, local history, and outdoor adventure.
Guests consistently praise the cottage for its cleanliness, comfort, and relaxing waterfront setting. It is a favourite with repeat guests seeking swimming, paddling, and quiet time by the lake. Whether you are planning a summer holiday, a couples’ escape, a family stay, or simply a few peaceful days by the water, Beautiful Log Cottage offers an easy and memorable getaway in the Mattawa area of Northern Ontario.
Nearby Annual Events – Please Note When Booking
Anderson Event Park, located in the nearby Municipality of Papineau-Cameron, hosts several large annual events each year. Although the park is not visible from the cottage and is separated by the lake, other cottages, a road and trees, sound can carry across the water.
The principal annual events are: Thunder Valley – Black Fly Edition (May long weekend); Thunder Valley – Truck Rodeo (August long weekend); and Smoke ’N’ Spurs Festival (Labour Day weekend).
During these weekends, guests may hear amplified music, vehicles and other event-related activity, which can be significant at times. If you are looking for a very quiet cottage weekend, we recommend selecting different dates. If you are attending one of these events, the cottage may be an especially convenient accommodation option.
