We arrived at the property and could not get into the building. Despite messaging the owner numerous times there was no reply. We had no idea what number or floor the flat was on. People in the building and nearby were extremely kind bringing us water as it was 42 degrees outside and we had no way of getting in the flat. When it was finally discovered which flat it was, it was already occupied. After 4 hours in the heat we had to go to the nearest hotel as we had no other choice. It was extremely disappointing as it was a 5 room apt and my son was going to join me. In the end I had to pay for another room for him in the hotel. Although it was very disappointing and quite stressful the team at Vrbo were amazing. My son in the UK spoke to them and they reimbursed us and also offered us a 800 compensation which we are still waiting for. I hope it will come through as smoothly as the reimbursement did. We felt that you tried your utmost to support us in an unfortunate situation and we thank you for that
