About this space Built by the Amish for a Retired Air Force pilot that flew with Chuck Yeager, this was RJ’s summer retreat when he came to Ohio to visit his kids and grandkids. He was my neighbor for 20 years before he passed. A few of his pictures are up in the cabin. The house has 1 full (shower) and a half bath downstairs. A half bath is also upstairs with 2 bedrooms and a TV room. It is about 180 yards from the lake and my dock which I'll share with you. The down stairs is all kitchen and bath. The space BOTH the bedrooms are upstairs. The walk to the dock includes a hill. If mobility is an issue, this is not a good fit.
We can support 4 adults with one queen bed and two twins that can be pushed together to make a king-sized bed (Twin is the default but I can set it for a king if you let me know at booking). The futon in the upstairs TV room could be folded down to a full “bed” But the TV room does not have its own door.
The path to the lake has a hill, not a Norris Lake hill, but my parents get picked up at the lake gas station. From the front door it is a lasered 177 yards to the dock. You do not have a lake view (unless you join me on the dock in the morning). I have been making that trek about 20 years, but some people will find that much walking a chore, so I don’t want you surprised. Guest access The entire house and the left side of the dock (from shore) for a boat. Or just sit on the dock and watch the sun rise. Other things to note I host friends, family and the Boy Scouts on occasion at my house next door. They are great people; I hope you stop and say hello if we're around but that is up to you. If you are on your own agenda, just reach out if you need anything.
