In the Trees

The property was just as described. Clean, in the treetops, with local art in the home. We saw four rainbow toucans each morning from the breakfast table. Had great tours of MonteVerde and were able to drive to town (5 minutes away) for great meals. Lovely stay.

Probably best for 12-15 young adults who just want to sleep there. No bathroom on main floor where there are 5 beds. All bathrooms should have towels, soap & trash cans. Kitchen supplies in poor shape.

thank you Toby for your review. As you pointed out we have 2 and 1/2 bathrooms on 3 floors. The house is inner-connected between the floors, so all bathrooms are accessible from the bedrooms. We leave the towel on the beds as well as trash cans in each room, hand soap and dish washing soap as well as kitchen towels are provided. Kitchen supplies you will encounter as listed. The 3 floors we are renting on this listing is for a maximum of 10 persons only.

A Rustic Stay in Monteverde

Overall the TreeTop House met our needs. We are a family of 7 traveling together and wanted to spend a few days in Monteverde. The Treetop House was able to sleep all of us easily. The pros of this property are its relatively inexpensive price for the number of people it can sleep. The one major drawback was that there was no place for everyone to sit together other than the kitchen area (i.e., there is no living room type of area for seven people to sit down as the place is configured to use every sq. ft. for sleeping.If you need an inexpensive place to sleep a lot of people in Monteverde, this is a good choice.

Thank you Fred for pointing this out. We are offering plenty to sleeping options in different settings and bed numbers per room. Many of our guest are appreciating this due to the reason that there are so many nice activities in the area to do that sometimes having a great sleep is just the most important factor. The upper part with the kitchenette unit sits 10 persons in 2 rooms that are open to each other. Depending how you prefer to eat it is great to have the kids hang out at a different table than the adults or having 2 smaller groups engaged in different conversations. Or even some play games and the other table reading or having conversations. This review might help future guests figuring their most important needs before booking.

Very unique

This house is very unique and interesting. However, it was very difficult for my mother to get around with all the uneven stairs. The pictures are accurate, there is not a large room to gather and the chairs/stools are uncomfortable. The middle floor with the bedrooms doesn't have a bathroom, so you have to go outside to change floor levels and this involves needing a key. The house moves with the wind and and is one of a kind in every way.

The TreeTop House makes your experience unique with its special spaces and open connections in the house and between floors. Many of our guests enjoy these qualities. Anyone reading this should be encouraged to study the pictures in the listing and value the needs during vacation for their family before booking to avoid disappointment.

As advertised, quaint and nearby but out of the noise.

Stayed at the treehouse March 9-11 2025. We enjoyed our stay, and but for one of my daughters (afraid of anything with 4 legs), I think we’d all be happy to stay there again. Details:Kitchen is exactly as the images. Bedrooms for THIS UNIT (see below) are as follows:- 1 dbl bed through a doorway from the kitchen- 2 dbl beds on the floor below in a nice room. - 1 ? dbl ? bed on same floor, its own room. - 2 dbls and a single in a room under that floor (all accessible by stairs as in photos). Nice sitting area in kitchen (4 stools) and 1 off of it (4 seats) for dining. Fridge is functional and clean. Several seating areas on the two lower levels outside, really nice views across the small valley above Santa Elena - nice toucan viewing for us. We liked the kitschy house for what it was. Advertised honestly and felt like a funky cabin - perfect for us. NOTE: there is at least 1 unit beneath the 1 we stayed in; no idea if ever rented out to other parties at the same time, but vacant for our whole trip. Worth a question to the host. Host Sabine exceptionally responsive and helpful. If she owned other properties (again, no idea) I’d seek them out for that reason alone. Things that could have been better? Listen, this isn’t a casita de lujo. It’s on the side of a mountain up from 3 other homes but secluded. Yes, there are critters. Found a scorpion one evening but hey, you’re in the jungle. But honestly no gripes. Truthfully advertised and worth it!
