Located in Hnífsdalur just 5 km from Ísafjörður in the beautiful Westfjörds of Iceland. The area offers many attractions including hiking, fishing and exploring the natural beauty and unique scenery this area is famous for. We welcome you.
Our house is completely self service. We do not offer maid service. Linens and towels are provided as well as a well stocked kitchen. If you use our towels and linens you will need to wash them. Also guests must return the house clean and we kindly ask that you keep the house and surroundings tidy during your stay. All soaps and cleaning supplies are provided. The is a 7 kg washing machine and dryer on site.

Wonderful place very thoughtful hosts

Best place we booked. Our hosts thought of everything for all ages and we're most gracious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort and family living.

Just like home with amazing area

A vacation home you immediately feel at home in: superbly equipped, comfortable and cosy interior, quiet and a perfect location for exploring the western fjords. The owners are very attentive and give great advice on activities and restaurants. I can't wait to go back for longer!

A wonderful home base for exploring the Weatfjords

This is a lovely home—comfortable and spotlessly clean—in a beautiful location. It is in the perfect location for exploring the Westfjords. You can enjoy exploring the immediate vicinity or visit the bird cliffs of Látrabjarg for a day trip. Rikki and Judi are helpful and responsive hosts. We would definitely stay there again.

A great Westfjords location

The check in was very easy and our hosts were very communicative. The house was very clean and had plenty of space. Although, there were only two of us, there is plenty of room for a larger group. A great location close to town and easy access to many amazing sites/ hikes in the area. It is a Bit of a drive to the Westfjords, but well worth it. If you plan to visit the area this home is well worth it. Thanks!

Wonderful house in the Westfjords

We had an absolutely great time in Judiths House. It is spatious and has everything to feel like home, with love to every detail. We loved it there and love to visit Hnifsdalur again. In two nights we had a spectacular Northern lights show just behind the house!

A home away from home

We were pleasantly surprised with all the amenities at the house. Comfortable beds, couches, fully stocked kitchen and laundry and a great games room. What’s not to like? The outside decks were very nice as well. This was a wonderful quiet place to stay!

A great location and great property

We stayed for three nights at the house. This is exactly what we needed for the middle of our trip - quiet, secluded, and beautiful area. We felt right at home from the start. We had a group of three photography friends traveling together. The location was stunning and it was everything we were looking for to call home. The host was very responsive to our initial booking request and our questions along the way. From a house layout and cleanliness perspective, everything was great. I’d definitely stay here again.

We loved it!

These were truly wonderful hosts with good communication. It is a private and quiet home with beautiful hikes all around. Restaurants and groceries are nearby, about 4km away. The house has everything you need to cook at home too. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.

Feels like home.

It was the third time that we stayed in this cosy house in Hnifsdalur. That speaks for itself. We almost feel at home here. It got all we need, the house is comfortable, it is a good base camp for hikes and excursions. We will definitely come a fourth time.

The Perfect Escape

My husband and infant joined me for work in Iceland and we stayed at this property for a few days after I was finished on personal time. It was 6 hours from Reykjavik and an off road vehicle was definitely needed, but you felt like you were in a National Geographic show. Perfect scenery, perfect house, and perfect hosts. Every amenity we needed was available, more than enough space, and Judi was incredibly kind and responsive. Would stay here again and again. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Better than the pictures/description

Wished we could have stayed longer than 3 nights and enjoyed more of all that this home has to offer. The property and surroundings are beautiful (we enjoyed many hikes starting from the house). Loved the outdoor space, especially since the weather was unseasonably warm this summer. The pictures do not do it justice. Would be a great spot for a family or a place to work remotely.

Great stay at Hnifsdalur

This was one of our favorite places to stay in Iceland: spacious, clean, excellent value, close to Isafjordur with access to many West Fjord destinations. We enjoyed a beautiful hike up Hnifsdalur directly from the house and were pleasantly surprised by the trail network. Some of our favorite activities from the house: Sudureyri geothermal pool, Fosshestar horse riding, Tjoruhusid, Jon Siggurson museum at Hrafnseyri, Litlibaer, Dynjandi. There were many other activities that we look forward to on a future visit. We made good use of the clothes washer and dryer.There were many toys that kids would like too. The housekeeping arrangement worked well for us.

Perfect home base for exploration!

We had a fantastic experience at Judi and Rikki's property in Hnifsdalur! I had never stayed in a place that did not use a cleaning service and was a little worried, but the house was immaculate. It was incredibly clean, and they had lots of cleaning supplies, so we were able to leave it the same way when we left. We stayed with our dog, who loved the little yard. The house had everything we needed to cook, and the bed was very comfortable. We would highly recommend it to others! We will definitely stay there again if we come back to the Westfjords.

The perfect getaway!

This home was all and more than expected! Plenty of room to spread out, and so many amenities! The kitchen has about everything you could ever dream of needing. Bathroom huge, and a very comfortable living room with recliners! Bedrooms more than ample! There's a cute little deck outside the living room overlooking a valley that had numerous walkable trails! It was a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. It's a great anchor for exploring all of the Westfjords, far and near! Nothing but good things to say, and we would certainly stay here again!
