Tobermory is a picturesque harbour village located at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. Surrounded by crystal-clear waters and dramatic limestone formations, the village is known for its natural beauty, maritime history, and relaxed coastal atmosphere. Tobermory serves as a gateway to some of the province’s most iconic outdoor experiences.
Just southeast of the village lies Bruce Peninsula National Park, home to rugged sections of the Niagara Escarpment and the famous Bruce Trail, Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath. One of the park’s most celebrated features is the Grotto, a wave-carved limestone cave with striking turquoise water that draws visitors from around the world.
Adjacent to the village is Fathom Five National Marine Park, Canada’s first national marine park. The area is renowned for its clear water, historic shipwrecks, and unique underwater geology. Boat tours and ferries depart from Tobermory to Flowerpot Island, famous for its towering limestone sea stacks, caves, scenic hiking trails, and 19th-century lighthouses.
With its lively harbour, local shops and restaurants, outdoor adventures, and easy access to protected natural areas, Tobermory offers a perfect blend of exploration and relaxation. Whether hiking cliffside trails, paddling along the shoreline, or discovering the region’s rich marine history, Tobermory is one of Ontario’s most unforgettable destinations.

The property was old and poorly maintained. The exterior was not clean, most electrical outlets were non‑functional, and there was no cooling system. The dishwasher was inoperative, and the yard was not usable in the condition it was presented, contrary to the photos provided.
Loved the space, would love to use Vrbo in the future. If I could change anything it would be the stove and dishwasher being pretty outdated. They took a while to heat and clean respectively. The hosts were wonderfully quick to respond to any questions I had.I will definitely recommend the space!

Great location in downtown Tobermory and launching pad for us to explore the nearby sights. We liked the layout, with lots of natural light, a large living area, and huge deck. My young kids loved the hammock.
We had a wonderful vacation in Tobermory. This property was spacious, clean and provided many necessities. The management company was very efficient and responded to all of my inquiries with prompt courtesy. We were close to some nice little spots, including the port where you could indulge on icecream. Thank you

Grey Bruce Cottages
Other than having an issue finding the place. It was wonderful. Spacious, clean well stocked. Everyone loved it.. not one of us had a complaint. Great value.
The property overall was good but there are a few exeptions. The bottom oven element did not work. The 1 bedroom with a queen size bed was placed that the cupboards were very difficult to access this made the bedroom very uncomfortable
Overall, the cottage was wonderful. The host communicated very well and responded promptly to any questions we had. The location was perfect we enjoyed family walks two to three times a day and were able to walk to all the local restaurants in the evenings, as well as make frequent trips for ice cream. The cottage was also extremely clean, which we appreciated. My only feedback would be to address a few minor repairs around the home, as there were some damages likely caused by previous guests. Otherwise, I would have rated this property a perfect five. That said, I would have no hesitation returning, even with the minor issues.

Not as advertised
Everything starting from booking was not as expected and harder than it needed to be. Host tried to bypass VRBO by communicating by message that there is an extra charge for pets AFTER we booked and already disclosed we were bringing a pet at the time of booking. After complaining to VRBO was able to resolve. Then again via message only sent very long legal agreements for us to sign before booking. Then again by message told us we need to pay outside of VRBO for the booking. When we contacted VRBO they confirmed the host was authorized but if this is the case what is the use of VRBO? VRBO provides no service and the host sets all their own rules that we must subscribe to have the reservation be cancelled. When we arrived Cabin was not as advertised. It was meant to have both hot tub and sauna. No hot tub was available. The outdoor area clearly is not being kept as there are beer bottles and bottle caps in many places. Indoors generally clean except the bathroom had vomit in and around the toilet and on the toilet paper holder. Totally disgusting.Unfortunately would not recommend this property and would not recommend VRBO after this experience.

The property is fine, but all the room smells of dampness and mould. There are few things which were not working and the host is just AI driven. Nothing was resolved. They kept on saying that someone will be there shortly, but nobody actually came or any solution was provided, their chat is just AI and no Humane is actually available to talk to in short disappointed and would never come back again here.
I have a well documented file of the long list of problems..from amenities not working ( sauna, hammock broken, dishwasher broken, dryer not working properly, door handle missing) and photos of the filth and debris left from previous guests ..this is all before we even discuss how poorly stocked the home was for a family of 7 staying there (eg. no kleenex, dryer sheet bis empty, no laundry soap, only 4 teaspoons etc etc ) there is a lengthy and daily thread of communication on file .I would strongly deter anyone from staying here or even be cautious with doing business with Grey Bruce cottages or VRBO..I will stick with air b&B..I have rented alot over the years and never have come across something of this magnitude ..I can provide any needed further clarification if needed as well as photos
