About this property
Elegant Chianti Classico Villa with Stunning Views + Starlink
Villa Adagio, in the compound of Casale Fornaci, is a magnificent country house inside the beautiful Tenuta of Arceno in the Chianti Classico.
Surrounded by a grove of olive trees atop lush green hillsides, this 13th-century restoration with its terracotta floors, wood-beamed ceilings, and stone walls is the perfect vacation villa for families and friends wanting to enjoy Tuscan life at its finest.
The location of Villa Adagio makes it easily accessible to the most beautiful destinations in Tuscany (20-60 min drives); Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, wineries, thermal baths.... It is decorated in an authentic and classic Tuscan style, furnished and equipped to the highest standards, and with NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES OR HIDDEN FEES.
Villa Adagio is the grandest of four properties on the Casale Adagio compound. We offer all the modern comforts one could want; air conditioning and heating, internet access, indoor and outdoor wifi, local, smart and satellite tv, DVD player, Bluetooth speaker and an extensive collection of movies.
We aim to make all your planning simple and pleasurable to ensure your stay with us is comfortable, stress-free and memorable.
YOUR ARRIVAL AT FORNACI
Our local representative will personally escort you to our Villa. You will be given a tour of the Villa and its features, an instruction booklet and a guide to the surrounding area and attractions. You can ask questions and request assistance arranging outings and booking chefs or cooking classes at home.
After a long day of travel, upon your arrival, your only thought should be to relax, so we provide our guests with a WELCOME BASKET filled with delicious, locally sourced essentials to carry you to breakfast the next day and beyond. Some items included in the basket; (white and red wine, water, fruit juice, pecorino, Parmigiano cheese, olive oil, bread and other staples like honey, jams, cereal, etc.).
We highly recommend that our guests have a car at their disposal. Three large covered parking spaces are reserved for our guests' exclusive use. We ask that you only use the parking spaces reserved for your use. In keeping with the rules of the Consortium of Villa Arceno, the roads, and all aspects of the estate, are maintained as they were in their original state centuries ago. As such, the surroundings are tranquil, and the unpaved roads allow for long, peaceful walks, cycling or jogging on the estate.
The main house has comfortable sleeping accommodations for six (6) guests. Should your family or party be larger, we can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests by taking advantage of the guest house (located within our private courtyard). These accommodations are exclusive to you and your guests.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The main floor features a large primary bedroom with an adjacent, luxurious bathroom, a library/lounge and a second full bathroom. The upper floor houses two bedrooms with double beds, wardrobe storage and another full bathroom.
The guest quarter (opened for parties over six guests or upon request) is located in the private courtyard and features a large room with two single beds that can be used as a double bed, a large wardrobe, a large bathroom and A/C.
If you travel in a large group, there won't be any fights for the showers!
The Villa's lower level features a spacious lounge and a walkout to the private courtyard. The primary and guest house both have AIR CONDITIONING.
EATING AND COOKING
For the enthusiast or professional cook, the Villa features a fully equipped kitchen, an open concept living/dining room with a vast original wood-burning fireplace and a dining table (in the style of a "fratina rinascimentale") that can seat 12.
Dine al fresco in the private courtyard while sipping wine from the vineyards on the grounds estate. Our courtyard also features an original, centuries-old wood-burning oven that has been skillfully restored and is now perfectly ready to make delicious pizza, porchetta or anything that may require a wood-burning oven!
You can enjoy a meal and BBQ in our privately owned and extensive gated park, to which only you have access. The grill set atop antique bricks and the sizeable white-stone table and benches will create the perfect setting for an outdoor lunch. How about a lamppost-lit dinner in the shadow of an ancient oak tree? You may choose to pack a picnic and enjoy the shade of our olive grove.
Should you not wish to cook, we can help to arrange for PRIVATE TUSCAN MEALS to be cooked at the house. We can also pre-arrange for a COOKING LESSON at the Villa, and it will be a meal to remember.
THE OUTDOORS OF VILLA ADAGIO
If you like to walk in the open air, the private park, accessed though iron gates, offers over 60 thousand square feet of land. The Villa's private landscaped garden is rich with cherry, walnut, pomegranate, fig, apricot and almond trees. Our 80-tree olive grove enjoys expansive countryside views, including the distant Monte Amiata. You can walk among our olive grove or sit and wait in silence to watch the deer and wild boars that, in the distance, cross the park in the hours of dawn and dusk while searching the sky for pheasants and falcons. Or take in the Tuscan air while enjoying our tree hung swing in the shaded part of the garden.
Read a book or sip a cocktail while taking in the breathtaking views from our Loggia, and should you be able to move from there, enjoy a dip in the outdoor salt water swimming pool. Equipped with loungers and umbrellas. Pool depth : 47" to 86". Pool dimensions : 44' x 19'. Please note that the pool, although rarely used, is shared by the guests and residents of the private Fornaci compound, and it is open from May 15 to Sep 15. Access to the pool area is allowed from sunrise to sunset, 8 am to 8 pm and in any case not beyond sunset.
The courtyard is furnished with a dining table, chairs and an umbrella, while the Loggia with cushioned lounge chairs and side tables.
THE ESTATE
Our villa Adagio within the Casale Fornaci compound, is comprised of four properties and is located on the Tenuta di Arceno estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico. The Consortium of Villa Arceno protects the estate, and the preservation of the natural and historical characteristics of the 1000+ acre property is of the utmost importance. As a result, the magnificent property looks today just as it did centuries ago.
Casale Fornaci is one of 30 Casali on the estate and is only 20 Km northeast of Siena, 8 Km near the quaint town of Castelnuovo Berardenga in the Chianti region and only 3 Km from the medieval Borghi of San Gusme' and Montebenichi. There are countless superb Tuscan restaurants and local farms selling oil and wine in the vicinity. Casale Fornaci is ideal for day trips into the Chianti area and cities such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Arezzo. Nearby you will also find thermal baths and horseback riding.
We encourage our guests to visit the outdoor market in Castelnuovo Berardenga, boasting local farms and their divine produce and products, open every Thursday.
Before your arrival, we'll share a digital house book with you, serving as your informative guide to the villa and nearby towns. It will contain contact details for arranging day trips, hiring an on-site chef or babysitter, and planning sightseeing activities. Suggestions for shopping and dining options will also be included. In the interest of your safety, all crucial emergency numbers are listed within. Rest assured, a physical copy of this house book will also be available in the villa.
We have a local representative who is always available to assist our guests during their stay. We are also available to address any questions or concerns via email. All emergency contact and services information is shared with our guests prior to their arrival. We take communication very seriously and ensure that someone is always ready to help to ensure a fun, safe and comfortable stay.

About the host
Hosted by Gino
I'm Gino, a proud Florentine. European football and travel are high on my list of passions. Villa Adagio has been a love affair for me—its beauty, its history, and the breathtaking views. Over 20 years of my life have been poured into this villa, ensuring that it's a true home away from home. I'm not doing this alone, though. My son Filippo and his wife Halina are helping me with managing the property, to share this slice of heaven with fellow travellers. We want you to experience the magic, the peacefulness, and the pure joy of Tuscany that we've cherished for years. So, join us at Villa Adagio. Can't wait to welcome you here!
