Safari house is 'home away from home' while you explore Zanzibar's indian ocean white seashores and the Island's unique attractions.

The apartment as well as its equipment and decorations are a mix of Zanzibari tradition and modern items. It is an ideal place for individuals or families who are visiting. Karibu sana (welcome in Swahili).

The space
Safari house is on the ground floor of a 2-floors building. It has a spacious living room, 3 air-conditioned bedrooms with mosquito nets, an equipped kitchen, a dining area and an external space (open to sunlight through the roof) accessible only to you, and where you and your friends can sit and relax. The apartment has its own dedicated entrance.

The apartment is located in a very safe and accessible area of Stone town, is less than 7 minutes from the main road and is a 3 minutes walk from two famous landmarks of Stone town (the famous Lukmaan Zanzabri restaurant and the Global Hospital). It is also close to shops, a market and an area from where you can get a taxi ride.

Guest access
The apartment has its own dedicated area and main door to access it. If you book the entire apartment, you will have access to all the areas the apartment has. If you book just a room, you will have access to your room (which you can lock when you are not around), as well as areas like the living room, parlor, kitchen, which you will have to share with the guests who booked the other rooms.

Other things to note
Safari House is eager to host you! The apartment has an area with books you can read. For long stays, cleaning services are included in the fee paid, every 3 days. We can also help guests at an affordable fee, with their laundry.

We organize on request and at a small additional fee, airport pick-up and drop-off as well affordable tours for you and your friends in Stone town and other parts of Zanzibar.

Why they chose this property

Safari House is located in Stone Town, a UNESCO Heritage site and an area full of lots of historical sites. The apartment is 5 minutes away from a taxi stop where you can pick a taxi or be dropped off. It is also 5 minutes away from the main road that links Zanzibar's international airport to Stone Town. The apartment is 10 minutes away on foot from the beach and walking distance to other touristic attractions of Stone Town as well as shops and markets where you can get souvenirs or restaurants where you can get good food.

From the International airport, it takes you 15 minutes (when there is no traffic) to get to the apartment and about 25-30 minutes when traffic is slow (something rare in Zanzibar). Also note that the apartment is 15 minutes away on foot from a large port from which you can get modern ferries to take you to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania's economic capital.

Safari House is a mix of modern and traditional Zanzabari architecture and decorations. The building is a renovated building built in 1951. During the time you will spend at the apartment (no matter how short), you and the friend(s) or family, traveling with you, will have the opportunity to experience living in a house built in the 1950's but which has a modern touch added to it!
