Amazing house, great hosts, and a fun area for a quick getaway!
My wife and I were looking for a quick weekend getaway from NOLA in Bay St. Louis and found this property - we couldn't be happier with our stay. The home is beautiful and thoughtfully put together with all the amenities you need and plenty of space. Recently renovated, the bedrooms were very comfy and the bathrooms were modern and clean. There is a large backyard to hang out in, that my two year old had a great time exploring, and a swing on the front porch which was perfect for enjoying the coastal air and reading a book. Our favorite part though was the expansive kitchen with plenty of room to cook, hang out, and enjoy a good meal. The house is really close to all the fun of downtown Bay St Louis. We went to the Mockingbird cafe for coffee (so good) and bought some records at the local record store. Luckily the house also had a record player which was a nice touch! We will definitely be going back to stay again. The hosts were very responsive and provided details every step of the way from check-in/check-out to the history of the home and tons of great suggestions on things to do in the area. It's also a quick 25 min drive to the Children's Discovery Center and the Train/Lego Museum in Gulfport which I highly recommend if you have kids!

A spectacular mix of a historic home with modern conveniences
A magnificent eclectic mix of an historic home with modern conveniences. The house is loaded with personality, from the creak of hundred year old floors, to the preserved transoms above every window, it truly is a step back in time. Make certain to be in the front of the house to soak in the morning light or sit on the front porch during the sunrise. After arrival we found the turntable in the living room and put on a copy of Simon and Garfunkel. What a great way to start some R and R. At night we were able to transition from the nostalgia of vinyl to the modern convenience of streaming some great shows in the living room. My wife and I knew we chose the right house. Throughout the house is a wide variety of local and distant art. Have fun spotting the themes. We counted 21 parrots and a clear connection with New Orleans and Hawaii. The location is wonderful with a short walk to the beach or great casual meals. The people of Bay St Louis were constantly warm and friendly. Fortunately for us this home is only an hour away but it feels so much further. We have decided to make a trip to Bay Saint Louis an annual event and this is where we will stay.

We're from New Orleans and have been coming to the Bay for 20+ years. We enjoy living life, and spend all of our spare time on historic renovation, travel, music, dining, and hunting for vintage treasures.

Why they chose this property

You're a stone's throw to the beach, a tennis/pickleball court, restaurants...and a short walk away from the loud but fun! downtown scene. The block has many old restored homes including our old shotgun sandcastle.

What makes this property unique

Our home was just 100% renovated, is super spacious with tall ceilings and big rooms, and has all the modern amenities you expect nestled inside a historic home with beautiful old original features.
