Other things to note
Elevation
Aspen Tree Lodge is located at 9,000 feet elevation. While a getaway in the mountains is rejuvenating altitude sickness is quite the opposite. If you are visiting from a lower elevation we encourage you to begin hydrating a few days prior to your stay. Become informed on altitude sickness signs and symptoms. Founded here in Colorado to support travelers adjusting to high altitude, the lodge is stocked with Acli-Mate electrolyte vitamin packets should you need them.
2023 Fishing
Aspen Tree Lodge is located just around the corner from private permit-only fishing! This is a unique and rare opportunity in this area. If you would like to enjoy the lake during your stay simply notify us and we will provide you with up to 6 permits. We ask that you read and follow the community guidelines below while fishing. Please bring your own rods, reels, and flies as they are not provided. Enjoy!
* All people (all ages) fishing must be visibly wearing a permit.
* Please fish only during daylight hours.
* Limit two fish daily.
* No taking of grass carp.
* Trout are fragile. Please be informed of catch and release.
* Pack out all trash.
Animals
Living in the mountains, animals such as deer, bears, and mountain lions are native to the area. Deer are most common and at times seen daily although it is possible for other animals to be around during your stay. Please keep a thoughtful distance from all animals, do not feed them, and be bear-aware.
Winter Season 2023-2024
Wintertime in the mountains is majestic. We want to make sure while you relish in the memories you come prepared. The lodge is located on a dirt road that includes a few uphill, windy narrow turns. While the road is well maintained at times it can become slippery and icy during snow. We ask you to drive slowly and cautiously when making your way to the lodge during the snow season.
