About this property

Newly Renovated and Charming 1915 Farmhouse on the Ivy River

Step into beautiful Farmhouse Luxury just 20 minutes outside of downtown Asheville! Originally built in 1915, this comfortable home is a perfect country getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while staying conveniently close to town.

The Farmhouse is ideally situated on 6.5 lush acres with a close, unobstructed view of the Ivy River. It features brand new appliances, beds, pillows and linens, all while maintaining the appealing details and vintage charm of its origins such as the original interior doors and hardware. The original 3-way chimney, built by Chimney Bob at the turn of the century, has vintage mantles in 2 bedrooms and the main living space has remnants of the original brick fireplace. Although log fires can no longer be used in them, the charm, personality, and history they provide is preserved and very special.

Explore the Ivy River across the small country road on 2.5 acres of open meadow. Picnic, play, or fall asleep to the sounds of the river as you have full access to this
special slice of country heaven. Or you could simply enjoy the river from the wrap around deck, which is ideally positioned and comfortably furnished to view both sunrise and sunset in the beauty of the surrounding nature.

There is no light pollution to impede upon your nighttime star gazing. This country paradise is close to hiking and bike trails. Enjoy a country drive through the adjacent historic farmland and beautiful countryside. The home is also just a short distance from the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, known for being among the best for viewing the autumn foliage in the nation.

This comfortable and well-appointed Farmhouse features all the basics plus much more, to
make your stay as convenient and pleasant as possible. A full chefs kitchen with new appliances including a Nespresso coffee machine, and many extras.

There is full laundry on site, central air and heating, and the home has lounge chairs and beach towels for river activities. Blackout curtains and white noise machines are equipped in the bedrooms. You also have the option for the host to provide groceries prior to your arrival, so you can come home to a fully stocked refrigerator!

The owner lives on site a few acres away and is very happy to provide any needed extras on demand such as additional coffee pods, toothbrushes, blankets, or other potential last minutes items that may be needed. We want you to have everything you need to be free to enjoy your stay and get the most out of this gorgeous Appalachian Paradise!

Pets are welcome, and smoking is allowed only outside. Have a beautiful stay!

Time Warp Magical Mountain Farmhouse
Whoa! Cannot begin to explain the beauty of this newly renovated farmhouse. I stay in a lot of vacation rentals throughout the year and this, by far, is at the top of my list. The host did such a great job with updating the farmhouse, with still leaving its 1915s charm. The houses' decor is a boho whimsical dream! The rental is very well supplied: iron, blow dryer, laundry machines, shampoo/conditioner, espresso machine&&pods :), cleaning supplies, and my favorite part tons and tons of comfy blankets for that cool mountain air. We cooked there most nights and found the kitchen to have everything needed to complete/cook all our meals. The house has an electric fireplace to cozy up to in the living room as you watch a movie, highly recommend this. It is situated not too far (about 25 mins) to go visit Asheville, but also get away from all the hustle and have your own lil mountain oasis. Our dogs were welcome with open arms and had more than enough room to run around the property, which can be completely gated off. Only thing to note is the 3rd bedroom is a pretty small futon. A larger adult may have difficulty getting comfortable sleeping on this, but perfect for a smaller adult or child. Though our 5th guest found the couch to be more than perfect. Absolutely did not take away from our experience and the host is there for all and anything! She went above and beyond my expectations! Would certainly book again (truly wish I could live there full time!) and HIGHLY recommend!

About the host

Host profile image
Hello! I'm Renata Youngblood. I grew up in the mountains of northern Utah where we grew our own food and lived very in tune with nature. After 20 years of pursuing a music career in southern California, while also working as a chef and in various hospitality jobs, I bought this land in the Asheville area with the dream of raising my two sons in a similar way as to how I was raised. I am in my 3rd year here homesteading on the Ivy River with my boys and I've learned a lot! It took 2 years to renovate the old 1915 farmhouse on my land where I am so happy to now host y'all to come experience this slice of heaven we're curating here. Hospitality is my specialty but I also hope to someday host live music on the riverfront acreage and have talent from all over the world come and enjoy! Please enjoy your stay with us. Soon we will be offering a menu for those who wish to order food with some advanced notice to be delivered straight to your door from our farmhouse kitchen. Asheville also has so many great things to offer as well as the surrounding areas! Farms to visit, breweries galore, music, art, hikes, nature! Patrons are also welcome to camp on our land should you choose to pitch a tent by the river for a night or two of your stay and many other options in this vast wonderland of nature and farmhouse luxury. I am here for any and everything you may need during your stay. Please come join us for a much-deserved get-away!
