5 Bedroom Cabin in Gatlinburg with Home Theater close to Rocky Top Sports comple

This is a 3600 square foot log cabin located in the Golf Creek area of Cobbly Nob in Gatlinburg,Tn. We have a fantastic view of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There is a creek at the edge of the property running through the golf course, providing a very relaxing sound. There are 3 decks for enjoying the views.

The top floor contains the kitchen, open living area, and two bedrooms (king and queen beds). All the bedrooms are separated for privacy and each has its own private bathroom. There is a 42' flat screen TV with HD and an electric fireplace in the living area. The are two dining tables, enough to seat 10-12 easily. The master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet and huge bathroom with jetted tub and shower. There is a flat screen 32' HD tv in master bedroom. The utility room contains a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board. The hot tub is on the front deck on this level.


The second floor is the deluxe game room containing a full size pool table, foosball, and ping pong (table tennis). There is an electric fireplace in the game room. There are two separated bedrooms, each with private baths. The king bedroom has an adjoining small bedroom with a full size bunk bed (full /full). This is great for families with children. New 32' flat screen tv in king bedroom. There is a balcony off the game room for your viewing pleasure.

The lower level is the theater. This 10' x 40' room has an 80' smart tv and DVD player. We have provided recliners for your viewing comfort. There is also a wet bar with microwave and full bathroom on this floor. A single log bed that sleeps 1 is on this level. There are two exit doors from the theater to the balcony.

LARGE ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE

We stayed at Something Special last week. There were 4 adults and 6 kids, 16 to 2. The home was large enough for everyone and there was plenty for everyone to do. There is a 'friendly' neighborhood bear who likes pop tarts...Just make sure you lock your car door ALWAYS as he comes back nightly to check on them! It's an easy drive into Gatlinburg and has a pizza place, BBQ joint and cafe 5 minutes away.

One of the pools in the neighborhood. The girls had fun until the thunder began and we had to leave.
We arrived and didn't lock the car when we first arrived. Before we could unload the car, the neighborhood BOO BOO the Bear decided to have a snack. Fortunately no damage to the car!

Something Special

The “cabin” was perfect for our needs/family. It was located East of downtown Gatlinburg but allowed us to be out of the hustle and bustle of town. The one thing I feel I was misled on is that the owner informed me that there was only a “starter kit” of paper products and trash bags, I had to supply them after they were used. There wasn’t a mention of this in the listing of amenities.

This cabin was everything and more! My family and I enjoyed ourselves so much. There was enough space in which my family and I didn’t feel crowded. The house is beautiful with so many immensely. 10 out of 10. I look forward to booking again!

Family trip

Great house for a large group

Beautiful 3 story cabin! Loved the open living room, the large dining room table, the jacuzzi and hot tub, and all ages from 7 to 62 enjoyed the pool and ping pong tables! Beautiful area with creeks, golf course and paved trails, we enjoyed walking every day!

Great holiday family gathering!

The house was perfectly suited for the gathering of our extended family for a rare few days when all of us could interact. The house was nicely decorated with a Christmas theme - just as we hoped it would be! There was something for everyone to do and places for everyone to gather or be alone.

Dollywood vacation

We had a great time at this cabin, which was perfect for a large extended family with children going to Dollywood for a couple days. Most of us went to Dollywood which was about a 35 min drive. We passed McDonald’s on the way for breakfast which was convenient. There were close local restaurants for easy pizza and other options for dinner. The house was great! Perfect amount of space for all of us, great views, and very clear communication with the host. We will definitely be back!

Cozy, spacious, amazing view!

We did a family trip with 11 people. The cabin was clean, spacious, cozy, and had a phenomenal view with the sound of a peaceful creek running just below. We enjoyed the spacious open concept of the kitchen and living room, and we also utilized the game area on the second floor, and watched a movie in the cinema as well. Each couple had their own bedroom/bathroom, which made it super convenient when getting ready to head to town. The cabin is off the beaten path, but just 15 short minutes to downtown Gatlinburg to enjoy the sites. Overall, the whole family had a blast and we would all recommend staying here!

Family Christmas

The house floor plan was great for our group of 12. Plenty of bedrooms and baths. And the great room was perfect for gatherings, Christmas morning fun, and game playing. And the large dining table allowed us to all eat together. The cabin was decorated for Christmas and was quite lovely. We did have a few problems. The grills were dirty and the gas grill only lit on one side. As this was listed as an amenity, we came prepared to grill out. And there was a few housecleaning issues.

2012 SPRING BREAK

Our week long stay in Something Special cabin was enjoyable. The cabin was very nice and was as the photos showed. We really enjoyed the theater room watching a movie every night. The kitchen came better equipped than others that we have stayed at. Hot tub worked perfectly. We understood that there was a game console in the theater room which we were never able to find a little of a disappointment for the 4 teenage boys but instead played air hockey and ping pong. All bathrooms did come equipped with towels but would suggest bringing your own. The distance to Gatlinburg was about a 15-20 minute drive. Overall our stay was a wonderful experience.

Perfect cabin for a large family

We could not have been happier with our rental! It had everything we needed and more! There was so much space! There were extra linens for the beds along with cribs and baby gates. The kids LOVED the theater room and the hot tub. The house was VERY clean and everything was in working order. We had a little trouble with wi-fi but who needs a signal when you're on vacation anyway? The games and puzzles on hand were a nice bonus. We were only minutes away from the Almost Heavn wedding venue where our daughter was getting married and the location was perfect. There were breathtaking views from our balcony and we loved hearing the sounds of the rushing "creek" down below. We would definitely stay here again. NOTE: we had to contact the owners twice- once for help using the code getting in and once for the wifi. Both times they got back to us in seconds and the problems were resolved.

Disappointed

I had a great time with my family but there were a few minor issues with cleanliness, but 2 major issues that I couldn’t get resolved, since I didn’t realize that the property owners stayed 3 hours away, which is what I was told after I reached out. The 1st was not being able to use the hot tub since it was locked upon arrival, and the next day once we got back from our time out, it was unlocked but there were no lights or bulbs in the lights so it was pitched dark on the porch and we couldn’t use the hot tub. The 2nd big issue was the toilet in the master bedroom that had the jetted bathtub it was broken and my guests and I had to flush it with our hand by reaching inside the back. The good news is because of these issues I was given a discount after check out. I was very disappointed, since I have been to a cabin in Gatlinburg before and was really expecting the whole experience with my family of being able to use the hot tub, we had our swimsuits and everything. This was a big deal for me since it was my 50th birthday celebration and my family traveled miles to be with me and experience it. I will definitely be returning to Gatlinburg but never to this location again! I will go directly through the website like we did in previous years and stay away from private owners. FYI, the upper parking is extremely steep which is expected but it should be fixed to be smoother coming down since it scraped the bottom of the SUV. It’s safer in the bottom parking area.

The cabin was very nice, however the parking wasn’t as the picture of the cabin represented. There needs to be newer photos put on the website. The whole front of the cabin is totally different. The tv in the living room didn’t work, however the owner did replace it the evening before we left. We made due though with games. The hot tub was awesome, everyone enjoyed it.It’s a little bit scary getting up to the cabin but that comes with the territory! lol We did get a taste of mountain life, the morning we were getting ready to leave, we had a visit from a bear, he sniffed around then scampered off. Makes for a lasting memory!

This house is great - very peaceful! Way bigger than we expected so our group of 12 had plenty of space. Also, very clean. We had plenty to do at the house - pool table, ping pong table, air hockey, books and a hot tub. Although we couldn't see the golf course due to the leaves on the trees, we did have beautiful views of the Smoky Mountains. We saw a mama bear with 2 cubs! She also helped herself to food left in an unlocked vehicle so heed the warning! No damage done. There are more trees than pictured, and a covered porch has been added to the front. We loved the tall ceilings, huge windows and spacious bedrooms. Even the bunk room was cozy. Location was great especially since most of us were there to golf. If you enjoy wading in a river and/or hiking, I highly recommend the Greenbrier Picnic area in the national park. There are several pull-offs with great areas to get in the river. Our favorite was the second pull-off on the left after the road turns to dirt. The drive up to the house, Andrew's Way, is typical for cabins in Gatlinburg - curvy, narrow in places and a little steep but not too steep that you need 4-wheel drive. The driveway is also doable, but the minivan scraped every time even with us turning around and going in, so we ended up parking it in the lower driveway which was so much easier. Two vehicles easily fit at the top and two at the bottom.The hosts are great! Quick to respond. Super easy check-in. Highly recommend booking your stay here!

We loved the location. The cabin is spacious and easily accomodated our party of 9. There is plenty of indoor and ourdoor seating. The owner gave us check in information ahead of time, which was helpful. Other communication was not as good. I had requested, but not expected to be allowed to check in early since our drive was shorter. Unfortunately, the property was not cleaned in time for our 4 pm check in, and we had to wait 1.5 hrs before gaining access. Upon entering, we found a dirty sock left behind, and one of the bedspreads smelled terrible. This cabin is older and in need of repair. Part of the deck is weathered and unsafe. Rather than fixing it, an additional rail was erected to prevent access. There are old boards and shingles under the front porch. The kitchen had a mix of pots/pans/utensils, etc. in various stages of their life.We were able to find what we needed to prepare meals. We did have to purchase wine glasses, as there were none. The refrigerator was supposed to have a water filter, but it was missing. The worst thing abiut this cabin was the humidity problem on the lower level. We needed all of the bedrooms for our family, which meant people were sleeping in the lower level, which also houses the theater. It was very humid in there, even with dehumidifiers running constantly. The dehumidifiers could not keep up, and are not self draining. The couple sleeping there had to get up at least twice each night to empty them when they alarmed.
