About this property

The Cove on Mille Lacs

Welcome to The Cove on Mille Lacs Lake! Cozy and scenic! Come and enjoy this charming home on Mille Lacs Lake. This space can comfortably host up to 10 people, has a kitchen with all basic necessities and a large deck to enjoy the sunrise/sunsets.

In addition to the home, there is 100 feet of lake shore located directly across the street (separated by HWY 169) for guests to enjoy. This beach is private to our guests and not public, however as a reminder, it is shared with our neighboring vacation rental that shares the driveway. **PLEASE ADVISE: HWY 169 is a busy road. We strongly encourage guests to take this into consideration, especially if you have children or pets joining you for your stay.**

Whether you're enjoying the spacious yard, or checking out the local restaurants/bars, this location is the ideal getaway.

In the entryway you will find a refrigerator/freezer, chairs for outdoor/campfire seating, charcoal and lighter, beach floaties, volleyball net and highchair. Guests are encouraged to use the supplies/amenities provided, but we ask that anything used is put back away prior to checking out.

Main floor: Large deck with picnic table and charcoal grill, kitchen with utensils, dinnerware, pots/pans and other kitchen basics. A refrigerator/freezer for food and beverages, small dining table, living room w/seating and TV w/Roku and DVD player with an assortment of movie options for a rainy day or quiet night in. Bedroom with a king, bedroom with a queen and a separate bathroom with tub.

Downstairs: Separate entrance to backyard, bedroom with queen, bedroom with king and bunk (double bed w/twin on top), TV with PlayStation and an attached bathroom with tub; this room also includes an assortment of kids' toys, pack n' play and space heaters/fans depending on the season and a washer/dryer.

Outside/exterior: Large deck with a gate at the top of the stairs. Also provided is a picnic table, outdoor table and chairs, charcoal grill (charcoal and lighter fluid provided), camp chairs, volleyball net w/ball and fire pit in the front yard. Please note, we do not provide firewood, but bundles can be purchased at nearby gas stations/stores.

Guests will have access to the entire house.

Owners are not on site, but guests can contact us directly via booking app or phone number provided. We will respond in a timely manner and work with guests to address any need before, during or after your stay.

Located about a mile north (on HWY 169) of the property is the public boat launch/lake access. In addition, this home is minutes away from the quaint town of Garrison. Grand Casino Mille Lacs is a short 7 miles away and Brainerd/Baxter is located about 25 minutes West with an abundance of restaurants, stores and more. Guests also enjoy the local state parks and other recreational activities.

There is plenty of space to park trucks, boats, and all the toys. FYI, Uber/Lyft is not often available; be prepared with alternate routes of transportation.

The driveway is shared with the property next door. Guests may park anywhere along the driveway or yard, but we ask that you keep vehicles on one-side (closest to the home). You may also park in the parking lot located at the Southwest intersection of Highway 169 and 26.

Summer: Enjoy the beach front located right across HWY 169, but please be careful when crossing the busy road. Boats, jet skis, kayaks and canoes are not provided, but feel free to bring your own as there is a public access point right up the road. Don't have your own watercraft? Check out the various rental companies nearby!
**In Northern Minnesota, Mayflies are known to appear near lakes approximately 1-2 times a year. Unfortunately, we can't predict when this may happen.**

Fall: We welcome guests to bring ATV's, bikes and more, however we ask that you respectfully do not ride these in our yard. Instead, checkout the nearby trails and surrounding areas. Looking for another outdoor activity? Bring your hiking boots to explore the state parks nearby.
**Most of the Minnesota bugs are no longer around, however you may want to check for ticks if you are in grassy or wooded areas.**

Winter: Mille Lacs Lake is a fantastic place for ice fishing! Bring your own gear or rent supplies nearby. Enjoy the winter but not into fishing? Bring your snowmobiles, snowshoes or other snow gear! The surrounding area offers plenty of options for all kinds of activities.
**Bring warm clothes, the weather can get cold rather quickly!**

**Check out our sister property (The Bay) right next door.**

Great view, busy road

We had a good time for 3 nights with 7 adults. I think there was just enough space for the 7 of us overall to lounge around. The couch is horrendous though. The road is very busy and not super easy to cross or enter onto, but the view of the lake is great. The AC worked well eventually but was not on when we arrived making it very hot inside. The host was very responsive. Great selection of movies for rainy days.

Deer camp upgrade

This was a really nice upgrade from our typical deer camp. There were plenty of beds and space for a group of hunters.

Cozy Lake Retreat

The kitchen was well stocked with necessary utensils for in cabin cooking. Two refrigerators was great. It was within reasonable driving distance for excellent dinning and unique shops. The lighting in the living needs improvement as it was pretty dim if you wanted to read.

Cozy Place

It is a nice cozy cabin that fits 10 people easily. We rented the place for our son and his friends to celebrate our son's 16th birthday. The boys had a blast. They had fun playing volleyball, walking on the frozen lake, playing games. Thank you for hosting!

May Mille Lacs stay

The house was super clean and had all the essentials anyone would ever need. It was decorated very cute. Dan (the host) was always available for questions through email which was very impressive. It was a perfect getaway minus the mayflies. We do not recommend vacationing while they are there. Which of course is completely out of the owners control. We had a great time otherwise.

The Cove

Everything was great. The only setback is the noise from traffic. They have a milllion dollar view.
