The accommodations and location were amazing The views of the Assiniboine River Valley from the yard at the top of the hill cannot be explained or described . You have to experience it yourself. The house had everything and more to make my stay enjoyable. Mark and Cindy are fantastic people and great to visit with. I can't wait to visit again.
Mark and Cindy were wonderful hosts. Valleyview Farmhouse was clean, peaceful, spacious, and had all the amenities required for our family of four. We loved how even our dog was warmly welcomed. The view of the valley was beyond compare. The location was perfect for day trips to discover the numerous riches of Southwest Manitoba.Mark and Cindy were gracious enough to give us a tour of their working farm. It was quite the treat to see their crops and cows! We look forward to returning in the winter to try bobsledding down their twisty road!
Very clean place to stay the hosts were really good and they welcomed me and my dog when we got there. I would recommend people who are traveling to jump at a chance to stay here. It was really relaxing and we enjoyed getting a tour of there property's and my dog being included in the tour. I would definitely recommend it to you. Kitchen was spotless and was well equipped with all your needs. I like to give the hosts 10 stars because they deserve it.
This was definitely one of our top vacations yet! The hosts of the Farmhouse provided a beautiful, spacious and clean, comfortable property for us to enjoy our 10 day vacation from. At the end of the driveway, the view of the Assiniboine Valley was spectacular as were the sunrises that would slowly dissipate the fog that would accumulate in the valley through the night and into the morning at this time of year. While a little surprised as to the proximity to the Host’s own home, it became a non-issue once we met our accommodating hosts. They were at the same time, accessible, but also “invisible“; they did not interrupt or negatively affect our holiday stay at all. In fact, it was the opposite. As city slickers, my husband and I are were very interested in the workings of the wheat farm and were treated to interesting discussions about generations of farm life and the workings of the machinery. Our lodgings were modern and very comfortable, particularly the power reclining armchair in the living room for folks like myself with mobility problems. Our cat was warm and happy; thrilled with the opportunity to zoom around the spaciousness of the house. The kitchen was well stocked, bathroom clean, beds relaxing. The property is easily accessible to the town of Miniota down to Virden on the trans highway. There are some nice trails in the area to explore. Cell phone calling and email use is spotty, Mark and Cindy are clear about that in the ad. Otherwise, we plan to return ASAP!!
The property is beautiful, both the home and the grounds. Coupled with the kindness of the owners who also gave us a tour of the property, this place was paradise to us.
Exceptional hosts and communication with Mark. He made us feel right at home and gave us snowshoes in case we wanted to explore. Later brought us extra coffee which was thoughtful. It was nice they lived next door but also felt we had plenty of privacy. House was cozy and warm and we enjoyed cooking all of our meals on the island cook stove in the spacious kitchen. Everything was clean and organized too. We highly recommend an extended stay here!! You won’t be disappointed.Thank you so much!
This place is wonderful: private, quiet, and in a gorgeous setting. My dad and I found the beds to be comfortable, the kitchen to be well equipped, and the overall layout to be conducive to relaxing. Bonus points for the shower/tub, which had plenty of hot water with good pressure and a stopper that works. The dishwasher works great. Although we weren't there long enough to need the washer/dryer, those appeared modern and like they would also work well. I did hand wash some delicate items and hang them on the backyard clothesline. Mark and Cindy are delightful; they seemed like they would be fun people to be friends with. As hosts, they were great. Mark took us on an extended tour of his land and explained a lot about the area. Cindy responded to all our "where is this thing?" questions promptly and pleasantly. They were around when needed but mostly left us alone. Tips to future guests:1. As is typical at very rural farmhouses, the cell service and wifi are slow and sometimes nonexistent. Don't go there planning to catch up on your web design work! (Just as well... It was probably healthy to take a week's break from the computer.) 2. The bedrooms are pretty dark; I didn't need my eye mask, but a small amount of light peeps through during the day. 3. The Silver Bend Trail and Wakpa Tanka Lookout are about ten minutes away by car and worth checking out. 4. I didn't see a barbecue in the listing, but there's one in the garage that you can use.
This was a great place to visit! The views were amazing and the property was clean and calm and quiet and we can’t wait to return. Miniota is a great little town with a nice golf course and we enjoyed the Silver Bend trails. It’s worth the trip!
The home was perfect for our needs & we were pleased with everything. The communication was excellent. Also, it was really well equipped and a great place to stay. The views are spectacular! Thank you.
Overall, the stay was great. Stand alone home , in the country located in a farmyard. Host was friendly and accommodating. I e really had nothing negative to say.
We were very pleased to find this home to rent in the area near where we were visiting. We were five people in total and made use of the two queen bedrooms, plus the sofa bed and a cot that was set up for us in the living room. It was nice having the two bathrooms. There was lots of space, a fully equipped kitchen, easy access to the building and the host helped us promptly with a problem we had with the fridge which had been unplugged. Our only disappointment was the level of cleanliness in a few areas, which concerns we shared with the host.
We had a wonderful stay. The home was clean and comfortable. Mark and Cindy were very friendly, kind, and accommodating. We will definitely be spending more time at their rental in the future.
