Horrible Home, Do Not Stay

This is advertised as a million dollar mansion with spectacular views but it is an absolute dump. The house was disgusting and filthy. The floors made your feet black, the sheets had stains on them, and their was dust everywhere. The pictures of the home make it seem that is well put together. In reality, there are dirt on the wall, holes in the floor, ceilings, and walls. When an area is touched up with paint, it is done with a different color so the overall house looks run down and old. The host did a horrible job setting up the home for our stay. It was not cleaned before so I had to call and have a cleaner come back again. There were only 4 rolls of toilet paper for the entire house. We did not have cleaning supplies to do our dishes but if you didn't do them it would be a $50 charge. It was advertised as a 6 bedroom but one bedroom downstairs had a sign on it that said do not enter. It was a nice room but we never received an answer to why we could not use it. When we brought these concerns to the host, she was rude and never wanted to help us. After I spoke with her the first day, I followed up several times with additional requests and she never returned my chats or calls. Simply ignored me. Please do not stay here. You will thank me for it.

Please do not stay here. They do not deserve your money, time or energy

Can we talk ADA, Real Estate code violations, or safety issues with this VRBO rental home? There is only one smoke alarm in the entire house. There are no carbon monoxide sensors anywhere. California Building codes state smoke alarms are required in every bedroom and within 6 feet of bedroom doors in the hallways. Carbon monoxide sensors should be placed on each floor's ceiling in open areas. Changes in flooring type and heights run rampant throughout the house causing tripping hazards all around. Loose and missing parts of tile and laminate lifting abound. Stair treads and risers are all building code violations at riser heights of over 10 inches in places up to 15 inches! Stair railings defy building codes with no ballisters allowing for anyone to fall off the staircase. Shower heads in baths with broken support hooks that create a hazard and they fall on your head while bathing. Scalding water temperatures which are difficult-at-best to change only switching to a freezing temperature when attempting to modify it exists in multiple bathrooms. What constitutes a cleaned house? I took pictures of the gross negligence this property manager/owner allows even though a cleaning fee is charged. Besides the filthy black-scum floors, messy light plate switches, doorknobs and stair railings, toilets, sinks, and bathtubs having dead cockroaches, wasps and water beetles in them, there's sticky unsanitary stair handrails.
