Being a lakefront house has wonderful benefits...just a short walk to the dock and a short walk to the Marina, where you can play in the sand, swim, play volleyball, order ice cream and other goodies, as well as rent boats. We've gone the extra mile to get super-fast business internet service and a whole-house generator for power outages.

One of the unique aspects of our home is that there are so many special places for people to retreat to for privacy. Although your family or group may be large, one can get away to all the nooks of our home/property from the two living rooms, family room, hall game area, the two small private decks as well as the large deck, the patio area, and the dock deck, the loft, the window bench seat, and the dock itself. We also live on a quiet one-way road off the main road, which makes a large circle perfect for a good, solid walk up some hills and back down - another way to grab some quiet time. Being with family and friends is important and rewarding, but having some separation can also allow for small, meaningful talks and times of reflection while being with those you care about the most.

For those with special needs:
The Main Floor, featuring the Main Living Room, Kitchen/Dining Area, Bathroom, Two Bedrooms, and Main Deck, is just one step from the driveway for those with disabilities or special needs.

Available tours:
We also offer Guided Yosemite Group Tours, Hikes, Sightseeing, Fly Fishing, Backpacking, Snowshoeing, Rafting, and more. The Tours can be for a day or several days, depending on the time of year. We can arrange the following adventures: In Groveland: Historic Groveland Happy Hour Walk; In Yosemite: Yosemite Valley Group Nature Walk, Vista Hike, Summit Hike, Gaint Sequoia Hike, Valley Tour, Valley Discovery Tour, Valley Tour with BBQ, "Just One Day" Hike and Sightseeing; Snowshoeing: Vernal Falls, Dewey Point, Mirror Lake, Gaint Sequoia; Fly Fishing: Solo Angler's Adventure, Experienced Angler's Adventure, High Country Adventure, Tuolumne Adventure; and more (please ask for more information).

Beds/Cleaning:
Our Signature Clean Bed Policy - Unlike many hotels and especially vacation home rentals which don't wash the duvets/comforters and blankets very often, if at all (most don't even put blankets or top sheets on the bed), we wash ALL sheets, blankets, and duvets IN BETWEEN EACH AND EVERY GUEST STAY and all mattress toppers, comforters, and pillow protectors regularly. Yes, this creates an enormous amount of laundry and time spent making beds, but we firmly believe that clean, comfortable beds and quality linens are an absolute requirement. Our motto is - if we want that for our vacation, then we provide that for your vacation.

Please ask about pets.

NO SMOKING, PLEASE - This is a smoke-free home. If you smoke, please do so outside and ensure that the smoke doesn't flow back into the house through open sliders.

Property and Community
Pine Mt Lake is a gated private community with many full-time residents. Pine Mt Lake is gated and has 24-hour security and security patrols. Pine Mountain Lake offers a variety of amenities, including a clubhouse and grill, a golf course, a driving range, tennis courts, a pool, a lake, beaches, a marina, an equestrian center, pickleball courts, an archery range, a shooting range, and even an airport. Pine Mt Lake Association collects a one-time fee for each vehicle at the gate to help offset expenses. The lake is private, and only guests and owners are allowed to use the lake and its facilities. It's a somewhat protected island. We want our guests to have a good stay. We ask guests to be respectful of our home and the community, just as you would in your own home.

Hosts
April and Bill are available by phone anytime and in person for emergencies. We have been in the community since 1980, so we have access to many friends, neighbors, and tradesmen in the area who can assist us with any issues or concerns. We are a 3.5-hour drive away and come up frequently between reservations to clean and maintain our home. We are often available in the summer when guests check in or out, so we can help you with any questions. If you arrive at a time we can't be there or it's late in the evening, there is a combination lock on the front door that you will have access to once your reservation is confirmed.

We followers of Christ, first and foremost, second...everything else--a Mom, teacher, wife, helper, worker, cleaner, gardener, and whatever else God wants me to do. Bill, my husband, is busy working on our farm day and night and keeping the home fires burning.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in our family since 1977 and was designed by my husband, Bill. He attended a small engineering school that also offered degrees in architecture. Bill bought the lot back in 1977 and built the house. He picked it because the property was on a private lake, was within a few hours' drive, and was just below the snowline, which meant that we could drive to it without having to put on chains or have snow tires.

We updated and added two stories over the garage with two bedrooms, an additional bathroom, and a loft. We have children, and when we come and they bring friends, we need some extra room and bedrooms to accommodate our family. It feels like a little-known treasure, as many people still don't know about Pine Mountain Lake. It is especially lovely in the fall, winter, and spring, as Yosemite Park is quiet, all the summer tourists are gone, and it feels like the park is in our pocket, in our backyard. It's the best time to go. Then, after a day at the park, we love to come up to PML, a tranquil place during the fall, winter, and spring. We feel like the only ones on the lake. Summer is fun too for family gatherings. The kids love all the action, the swimming, fishing, and deck barbecues.

What makes this property unique

One of my favorite things about this house is all the places I can go to for privacy, even though my family is large and we have such a full house. I also love sitting on the swing bench on the back deck and looking at the lake. Waking up in the Master Bedroom, listening to the geese, and seeing the sun peek through the pine trees, with the water twinkling in the sunrise, is so renewing for my spirit. Life slows down when we go to PML. We have great memories there with our children, and we look forward to creating more. We hope you can do the same.
