We had a great time at the Mayan Breeze Villa. We had 14 family members staying, 6 were kids 14 and under and they had a great time in the pool. It was a great pool for our family. The inside was big and spacious, very comfortable.
Villa Mayan Breeze was such a great experience for boys trip. There were 13 of us. The loungers and the vibe outside by the pool were immaculate and a short 2 min walk away from beach. Would recommend 10/10.
Kim communicated with me for months leading up to my stay. I had stayed in Playacar before and chose this house for several reasons. The other houses I had stayed at did not offer the shade and privacy. I did not want to have my outdoor experience at the house. Be extremely hot. This house has its own driveway and offered a great place for us to park the golf cart that we rented from Hardy Carts and Equipment. It has a huge second level balcony and your entire group can go sit out in the shade. The houses right on the beach are virtually unfordable and all of the houses in Playacar are in very easy proximity to the beach. This is within a gated community and very peaceful. The upstairs has two bedrooms with their own bathroom and plenty of seating to hang out upstairs along with the kitchen. The downstairs has three bedrooms, and only one of them has a built-in bathroom. The downstairs has its own living room and refrigerator. Overall, if I had a large enough group, I would rent the house again with no problems.
While the hosts were extremely kind, responsive, and accommodating, the house was really not up to par for what was advertised. It was a gorgeous location, much closer to the beautiful beach than we anticipated (across the street, two houses down), and on a safe and secluded street with security. But the actual house needed a ton of work. We would run out of hot water because the boiler stopped working multiple times, much of the wood was warped or crumbling, rendering the use of the bedroom patio doors useless (the doors only opened about 5” so we couldn’t get to the pool from the bedroom, we had to walk all the way around). There were no rugs or plants in the bedrooms like the pictures advertised, very barren. When we first arrived there were no rugs in the bathrooms either, nor enough bath mats, hand towels, dish towels, or washcloths. There was only one thin “towel” (like a bath towel-sized tea towel), and one thin beach blanket per person. When I brought this up to the host she had 3 large bags of regular towels, beach towels, and dish towels delivered that night which was MUCH better!! The bar in the downstairs are couldn’t be used because the sink was out of commission. The pool area had a small section of sidewalk missing, which was dangerous for my toddler, but also it exposed standing sewage water, which made the backyard/pool area smell bad. While the hosts were wonderful, this house was a major disappointment, especially for the price we paid.
