Gracious, lovely, thoughtful hosts! Beautiful area. Love the accommodations. Everything you need and more are provided. This is our second visit and we’ll be back.
This was the perfect location for us! We enjoyed hiking and fishing each day and some much needed R&R. The hosts were so kind. Would recommend to friends and family.
The Hideaway on the River is a very quiet and peaceful dwelling.
The fact that it is located on the river was very delightful. Getting up with my coffee, sitting on the deck with the river passing by, with all of the songbirds was very peaceful.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Thank You

Perfect Spot
This place was perfect. First of all, it's beautiful inside and out. The bathroom is beautiful, the kitchen is great, the bed is comfortable, and the view is amazing. Second, it's in a great location. Just far enough from everything, while still being close enough to everything you need. Perfect for a couple's retreat.
This is a beautiful place to relax and refuel. Everything exceeded our expectations. The inside was emasculate, yet comfortable. The view from the deck.. exquisite! Highly recommend..

Ellie and Bill were wonderful hosts! The unit was so nicely finished and completely stocked for our every need. Including a welcome basket of local beers, snacks, coffee and tea. Peaceful!
I am finally getting to my review. It may have been a while but the experience at the Hideaway was very memorable. It was the perfect spot for a romantic getaway with champagne and chocolate when we arrived. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sounds of the river while using the fire pit made it even more relaxing. We enjoyed every minute of our time here and would definitely come back again someday!
We flew into Bozeman and made the easy drive to this beautiful Hideaway on the Missouri River. The setting is totally peaceful as you watch the river flow by from the deck. The unit is sparkling clean and cozy. The Hosts, Ellie & Bill, are friendly and helpful, but also provide the feeling of total privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Truly a rare Jewell! Rating = A++
A very nice place to stay. Clean & upscale, nicely appointed and comfortable. Our stay was in mid July, so we had warm sunshine outside, most often with a cooling breeze. The yard is park like, with the view from the deck being the Missouri River, farmlands, and mountains in the distance. Oh yes, eagles, pelicans, ducks and other birds, plus deer, rabbits and chipmunks abound. Bill and Ellie were great hosts, available if desired, but otherwise giving us lots of privacy. We will return!
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the hideaway! The beautiful views from the back porch of the river and hills were lovelier every night we were there. We were able to watch a pair of eagles hunting on the rivers edge and many ducks and geese. There were also song birds just making their way home after wintering in the south. The house has everything you need to cook all your own meals and the tub and shower were just wonderful to enjoy! The bed was comfy and the fireplace was so nice sit by in the evenings. Such a great place to unplug and unwind!

Second Visit in 10 months!
This our favorite place to get away! My husband and I have stayed a The Hideaway twice in 10 months. Easy Drive from Minnesota and the perfect jumping off point for each days adventure. We got massages in Helena, soaked in the White Sulphur Hot Springs, bummed around Bozeman, dined in historic Three Rivers, drove to Big Sky, Livingston and hit Red Lodge in the way home (Not a direct route but beautiful). The accommodations are the highest quality, beautifully appointed and very clean. It has everything needed for a romantic, adventurous, or quiet get away. We feel blessed by Bill and Ellie's hospitality. We will most definitely make the Hideaway a vacation destination as often as possible!

Lovely property on the Missouri River - beautiful morning sun and evening sunsets
This is a very nicely appointed studio apartment. It is really new construction and all of the appliances are modern. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the gardening is very attractive. Ellie & Bill are extremely nice owners that will go the extra mile to help - Ellie did some great research for us regarding local fishing guides! We really enjoyed our extended stay at The Hideaway.
The firepit area is private and there is a really sweet deck located halfway down to the river that is wonderful for star gazing on a clear night.
Toston is not really a going concern these days, but Townsend and Three Forks are within a 20 minute drive. Three Forks is quite nice and Townsend also has all the services that you might need.
One caution, we were a bit surprised to find that this "Carriage House" is actually attached to the owner's home. They have done a good job of making it feel private but it was a bit of a surprise when we first arrived.

Best Romantic, Fun Get-a-Way EVER!!!!
My husband and I needed a last minute get-a-way! We e-mailed Ellie on a Thursday and arrived on Monday after a 13 hour drive from MN. Ellie graciously accommodated our early arrival. This was the best vaca in 16 years of marriage (and we have been fortunate to travel to many great vacation destinations)! Being in full-time ministry and having four kids can take a toll in a marriage, we had a vision of what this vaca needed to be for us. We would have been content sticking around the Hideway, reading and just being together. But instead we experienced 6 amazing day-long dates! We hiked in the foothills, had the best massages ever in Helena (arranged by Ellie), toured Micro-Brewerys, ran a 5K race in Ennis, dined at Willow Creek, had drinks at the Sac, and shopped quaint small mountain towns. Each day started with coffee in porch overlooking the river each night ended with a glass of wine. Bill and Ellie are incredible hosts and we consider them our "Montana friends". We will absolutely return to the "Hideaway"! SOON!!!!

A Great "Hideaway" From the Hustle and Bustle!
My husband and I have dreamt of taking a trip to Montana for years, and we are so glad we chose The Hideaway as the place to make our dreams come true! The Hideaway contributed to an unforgettable experience in Montana, and we cannot wait to make a return trip.
The location along the Missouri river is perfect, and the property is very well maintained. My husband and I felt right at home. The well-appointed kitchen along with the grill on the patio allowed for us to enjoy amazing meals at The Hideaway. The king sized bed was so comfy that it was sometimes hard to get out of bed to go enjoy the amazing state of Montana. Having a morning cup of coffee on the back patio while watching the train roll by in the distance across the river was very relaxing. The mountain ranges on each horizon made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Bill and Ellie were amazing hosts, and you can easily see the love and hard work they have put into making The Hideaway such a great place to stay. The suggestions they had for local sights and restaurants were extremely helpful.
My husband and I were able to use The Hideaway as a jumping off point to see the sights of southwestern Montana. The Lewis and Clark Caverns are a must see and they are only a short and very scenic drive away. Madison Buffalo Jump State Park is also nearby and is a very interesting piece of history. Yellowstone was amazing, and the drive to the northern entrance of Yellowstone Park from The Hideaway was beautiful. We took Ellie and Bill’s suggestion of going white water rafting on the Gallatin River with White Water Montana and had the most fun we have ever had in our lives! After rafting, we headed over to Norris Hot Springs for a relaxing soak in the mineral water.
The ribs at Willow Creek Café & Saloon are amazing! Penny’s Breakfast Station in Townsend is delicious, and the Bunk House in Toston has a pretty darn good burger. If you are a beer connoisseur, I beg of you to locate and try Cold Smoke beer by Kettle House Brewing. It is delicious, and only available in southwest Montana.
We can’t wait to return!
Wow! What a beautiful location. From the Missouri River 50 feet away to the pair of Bald Eagles watching my fly fishing. Unbelievably quiet and relaxing. Loved it!!
Ellie was great to communicate with us and make sure we had any information we would need, she and her husband Bill were fantastic hosts and the property was clean and nice and peaceful for a special getaway... I wish I could go back now.
Spectacular! Magnificent! Refreshing!! The quaint Hideaway had everything one could hope for in a getaway!! The view was breathtaking!! The gardens and landscaping impeccable! The Hideaway itself is unique with splashes of ellegance and so comfortable and inviting!! Our hosts, Bill and Ellie, were genuinely friendly and very accommodating.! They are a beautifully inviting dynamic couple!! We so appreciate their hospitality!! We would not change a thing! Our stay was spectacular!! Memorable!! We will never forget our time at the Hideaway!! We are already planning in our hearts our next escape at the Hideaway!! Thruly magnificent!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
