I loved this cabin. I will be staying again when I come back. The host was welcoming and friendly! The wildlife was amazing. We were able to feed ducks and the deer came right up to us.

Thanks for Staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay! come back and visit us again soon.
Our overall stay was nice. The location is beautiful. The creek & mountains are beautiful. I have the rating a 3 because of a safety concern. The second to the top stair is broken. Looks like it has patch repaired but not well. I kept having to tell my son to be careful. This should be repaired properly before the next gust arrives. The second issue was the king size bed was awful to sleep on. It was so hard & uncomfortable. My 15 year old son & I fought who was sleeping on the couch & who had to sleep on the bed.

Thank you for the review. Sorry your stay was not perfect. We were in Taos Friday and purchased the wood to repair the step. We use a high quality tuft and Needle mattress for the bed and haven't ever had any complaints, but we will take a look at it. Thanks again for staying with us.

Your host
Welcome! My name is Brian Waltz, and my wife Tawnya and I have been the managers for the Rio Colorado Cabins for the past 18 years and counting. We also have 2 sons Joshua and Zachary. Our goal for the last 18 years has been to provide exceptional customer care and to re-establish the Rio Colorado Cabins as a premier lodging facility in Red River, New Mexico. During our time as managers we’ve remodeled almost all of our cabins and have completed many other projects vital to the property. Another goal has been to continue to build our customer base, and we are so happy so many of our guests return year after year. We know we may not be the perfect fit for every vacationer, but we believe we are the best at what we do, providing a memorable experience a 5 star resort simply can’t offer. We offer the opportunity to connect to the things that matter most, with friends and family instead of expensive amenities that lack the character and rustic charm our cabins bring. We are the perfect fit for the do-it-yourself, adventurous vacationers! If this sounds like the experience you and your family have been searching for, and if you don’t mind Roughin’ it in Red River in Comfort, then we will look forward to seeing you very soon.
