owner has no communication skills

There were no railings on the stairs. The concrete stairs and pad were cracked with holes in it. The porch light over the door was broken. The lamp was broken in the left upper bedroom (no knob), the night stand drawer had no pull on it. The hand towel rack kept pulling off the wall. The cleaner wasn't done when we checked in at 4. There were no welcoming snacks or amenities, bare bones. As far away from a super host as can be. Very disappointing.

The communication with the property manager was cumbersome and annoying. We’ve used VRBO for years and I’ve never had someone request a picture of my ID, while within his rights it started my stay off with a red flag. We booked this due to our daughter being at childrens mercy, it was the opposite of a stress free experience. Every piece of furniture in the place is particle board, which is fine if you don’t have small children. If your kids are under 8 just go somewhere else. There’s no baby gate and it’s a split level. Pretty sure someone associated with the property slept outside with their car running for the duration of my stay, solidly creepy. Said person also took a picture of my husband when he went outside to smoke. Speaking of outside the driveway and porch were not shoveled or salted. The “shovel” in the garage is toddler sized. The dumpster out back was overflowing and there was trash and trash bags on the ground. Just stay in a cheap motel.
