Beautiful property. Beautiful rivers and fun to play in although hard to access especially for the more mature visitors. Home was beatiful as well. Coffee maker could have used a cleaning and some of the shower curtains could be replaced. If you are looking to unplug for quiet rest and seclusion. This is your place. The home is lovely with all of the rustic antiques. It's very warm and cozy feeling. We want to visit during each of the seasons. Definitely a do over. Look for the Junction Park mailbox for your turn. Google GPS not very accurate on that.

Beautiful and secluded...

Awesome place! Beautiful and secluded yet close to Marbury - where we needed to be. We greatly enjoyed our stay and the nice, warm, fireplace. We'll have to come back when the weather is warmer to explore the grounds more.

Great escape and breathtaking scenery

We are repeat guests at this wonderful property. We couldnt stay the whole time due to a family emergency but as expected having stayed before, it was a great escape. From the beautiful landscaping to the river that flows and brings you to your peaceful place. The antiques and decor take you back in time and makes us feel right at home. Wonderful place to get away from the day to day and relax and enjoy nature.

A breath of fresh air!

This hidden gem is phenomenal and brings back memories of yesteryears. The layout of the house is cozy, inviting, warm, and open. The acreage is amazing and wonderful (I imagine) year round. Our 7 yr old boy loved riding his bike on our evening walks up the driveway and around the gardens and creeks. A must stay if you're looking for a retreat from the world.

Will come back time and time again!

This place has captured my family's heart! Second time staying and will be back many times to come. Had an unexpected opportunity to meet the owners; Jan and her husband are the most kind, friendly, and hospitable people. Their property is for the avid outdoorsman as well as those who like a leisurely stroll. The ambiance of running water which surrounds the property is the most alluring factor - in both winter and summer. If you want to disconnect and take a digital break from the world and support local businesses, enjoy this charming chateau when you can!

Beautiful Place

This was a wonderful place. However, some confusion over whether pets were allowed. The Vrbo listing said Yes, but the notebook at the house said NO. We were confused. Also, be prepared to be UNPLUGGED! If you are addicted to your phone, this is probably not the place for you. Otherwise, It was beautiful, the gardens and the creeks were so relaxing. Loved it.

A magical trip back in time!

I don’t think there are words to describe the absolutely amazing experience. We had here! It was a trip to a museum curated with love, a step back in time to a simpler life, and being wrapped up in your grandma’s arms, one more time❤️❤️ I can’t say enough about the property, it was gorgeous😳 all of the antiques! The kindness, extended by our host was above and beyond anything that could be expected or even hoped for. If you get to have one trip in a lifetime to disconnect from a crazy fast-paced world and reconnect with simple, spiritual joy and feel like you’ve stayed in a place where you’re loved this is the trip for you. I can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful Property & Exquisite Chalet-Style House!

Junction Park is an absolutely beautiful place to stay! From the moment you punch in the code at the electronic gate, and wind your way down the quarter mile private driveway, you know this is a special place. The chalet style house sets in postcard-perfect natural beauty that features gardens, trees, and rustic decor, all in view of a canyon where two wide streams meet. The sound of the water is the first thing you hear in the morning the morning and the last thing you hear at night. The beautiful home is fabulously decorated in unique antiques, while boasting every modern convenience. Steve & Jan Thomas stocked their well appointed home with everything you need, from soap to coffee, and even left cinnamon rolls on the counter for us. I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one by far is the best. I was grateful to stay at Junction Park for 4 days and hated leaving. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends, or to stay there again!

Slice of Heaven

I cannot say enough things about this property! It was PERFECT, and I was so sad to leave! Pictures cannot do it justice! You have to be there and completely submersed in the atmosphere to truly see how amazing it is! We booked as a place to stay for a state ball tournament just a bit north, and it turned into my FAVORITE getaway! We walked, spent a ton of time outside enjoying the sounds, the porch, the roaring creek, the garden. The inside decor with all the antiques was mesmerizing (as I'm such an antique lover!) We cannot wait to go back!

We can’t wait to go back

The home and property are beautiful. The sounds of the river and creek are so peaceful. There is a railway nearby and we enjoyed the sounds of the trains as well. We spent the majority of our time on the covered porch. The thing I enjoyed most was the fireflies. I haven’t seen any in years so it was a special treat.

Great getaway in the woods!

If this doesn't tie you to nature in a cozy setting - I don't know what will. Setup to disconnect and go back in time 50 years to a simpler life... something that is needed in the techno notification & distraction society we live in today. Thank you Janice!

Beautiful home and property!

Of all of the places that we have stayed, this was by far the most beautiful and peaceful place that I've visited. The view from the large wrap around porch is simple breath-taking! I love all of the decor in the interior. Every time i turned around i was spotting something else to admire. I'm looking forward to visiting again and maybe staying longer. Thank you!!

Antiques Galore

Loved that the owners are recreating the beauty of the original homestead especially after reading all about the woman who previously spent her life there. The antiques are amazing and discovered not only in the house but throughout the surrounding acres. Would love to see the gardens in the spring. The beauty of the two joining creeks are picture perfect. While hiking and driving in and out we saw deer, rabbits, squirrels, birds and one eagle. Perfect way to end one year and start a new one.

We loved Junction Park

The setting of the house was beautiful! We loved the creek so much, it was fun and very beautiful. Two creeks intersected at this house so there was a lot to explore. We had fun walking on the rocks through the creek. It would have been nice if there were some trails to explore since it is on so many acres, although I did not reach out to ask about this. We kept our walks along the driveway and down to the creek, which was fine. We had everything we needed at the house and it was comfortable. Only suggestion would be to wash the pillow shams and comforters along with the sheets. My impression is that they are not washed after each guest. Not having internet was difficult but we were expecting this. We would definitely return to Junction Park.

My wife and I are retired and enjoy spending time with our two dobermans, Angus and Chloe. We enjoy antiquing, history, and nature. We put all these things together and came up with Junction Park. It has been a labor of love for us and I hope you will love it too.

Why they chose this property

Verbena is a great little town and we fell in love with the property's natural beauty and privacy. It is conveniently located to the interstate and bigger town attractions, but still has the 'get away' appeal. Clanton has a golf course, dining, antiques and open flea market twice a week, and the famous Peach Park. Two large lakes are close to the property.

What makes this property unique

You can take your shoes off and walk down the running stream, have a picnic on the wrap around porch, or find yourself a secluded spot in the woods to listen to the birds and wildlife. You can ride your bicycle down the quarter mile driveway or take a nature hike in the woods and never leave the property. A privacy gate keeps the grounds secluded. A large BBQ grill is available if you are in the grilling mood with several dining tables available on the porch. There is a flower garden in back of house with arbors and sittings areas for your enjoyment. You might want to enjoy a bath in one of the large antique claw foot tubs and just relax.
