Where modern luxury meets old-world charm—and only minutes from the beach!
Nestled into the historic seaside village of Rocca San Giovanni, Casa Bramare boasts both modern amenities and all the charm you’d expect from a century-old home. The house was completely renovated in 2010 to create an open, airy feel and a sleek aesthetic. At the same time, you’ll find hints of its storied past in the vaulted brick ceilings and prime location within the village piazza.
We’ve gone all out to make sure Casa Bramare provides the utmost in luxury and comfort. The master bedroom features a European queen bed and Juliet balcony, while the second bedroom includes a European double bed, ample storage, and easy access to the terrace. One of the two full bathrooms features a walk-in shower, and the other, a deep soaker tub, both with heated towel racks. The house also includes a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove and convection oven, a washing machine, a cozy fireplace, two flat-screen TVs, a DVD player, and an iPod docking station. Our delightful, hands-on property manager is also on call throughout your stay. It’s like having a boutique hotel all to yourself!
One of the smaller villages on the Adriatic coastline, Rocca San Giovanni has been voted one of Italy’s most beautiful villages for its old world charm. Just outside Casa Bramare’s door, you'll find the heart of a village untouched by time. There’s always something going on in the historic piazza, whether it’s a jazz festival, community potluck, or the annual food and wine extravaganza. The local markettas stock everything you need to make a five-star meal at home, but there are plenty of exceptional restaurants in the surrounding area as well.
When it comes to access, Casa Bramare couldn't be better situated. The pristine local beaches have won several distinctions, including the Bandiere Blu and the First Beach of Abruzzo award in 2012. The Italian Apennine Mountain Chain (Gran Sasso d`Italia and the Majella Mountains) are less than an hour away, and a day trip to nearby Lake Bomba is a must for anyone who loves water sports. Casa Bramare is also only 30 minutes south of the Abruzzo International Airport in Pescara, making airport transportation a breeze.

Fabulous!!
The house was perfect for us. The bells took us by surprise the first day but grew on us. We actually missed hearing them after we went home. This is far from a resort town which is exactly what we were looking for. Even with our limited Italian we were able to communicate with everyone we encountered - although a few times we did resort to pantomime! We took trips out to castles, along the coast and had a truly amazing diner at Trabocco Punta Tufano, which was by far our favorite meal in the two+ weeks we spent in Italy. We would recommend this property and house to anyone looking for a quiet vacation in a beautiful region of Italy. A small piece of us would rather not recommend it since we would love to keep this place all to ourselves!

Thank you Michelle, we're so happy you enjoyed your stay - we'd be happy to welcome you back anytime! By the way, we've just installed beautiful track lighting in the living room / kitchen that highlights both the ceiling and the floors and a fabulous illuminated lucite fan in the master bedroom. So when you come back you'll have a even more to enjoy!

Proprietari fantastici e posti meravigliosi

Rocca San Giovanni: A GREAT LITTLE HIDE-AWAY PLACE
If you want to get away from the city and have a relaxing vacation in Italy, with peace and quiet, then CASA BRAMARE is the place to stay. With the beach only minutes away, and all the items one might need to make meals, everything was nearby. The apartment was well appointed; we had a wonderful working kitchen. The bedrooms, the bathrooms were all comfortable and clean. Lisa was always gracious to answer any questions about the area, or about the apartment. The cafes are nearby to have an Espresso, the butcher shop, a few grocery stores, farmacia and bank, all within walking distance. The apartment was as you see it in the photos. Loved the decor, Julie! A definite "come back" in the future!!!!

Three wonderful weeks ...
We fell in love with Casa Bramare at first sight , when we found this special place online nearly one year ago. When we finally arrived, our expectations were even beaten. The well appointed Casa Bramare with it's lovely and tasteful furnishings is not just a house , but a home.We could experience the hospitality and kindness of the people from Rocca San Giovanni many times and enjoyed the Italian lifestyle on the piazza with the concerts and shows( and the aperitivi in Bar Vittoria of course)
Spending our holidays between Mare and Monti meant for us a relaxing , eventful and inspiring time.
Every hint in the Welcome book was a safe bet (thanks) and helped us plan our days without any disappointment.
Lisa's friendly support was very helpful and pleasant . It is good to know that there is someone who cares, if you need advice. Tomorrow we have to leave to cold and rainy Germany, but surely the memories of our holidays will be still warming our hearts for a long time. Verena and Timo from Speyer . Germany

A Wonderful Home!
Casa Bramare is a home away from home nestled in the lovely town of Rocca San Giovanni. The house provided the comforts of home while enjoying the lifestyle of the Italian people. The location of the home was great with many conveniences right outside the front door. Forno Zulli next door was great for all our needs. The bakery across from the house and the butcher with the fresh porchetta were a treat on a weekly basis. My family and I had a wonderful time in this house enjoying the fantastic hospitality of the locals. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting to experience the splendours of Italy!!

This Casata Demands a Revisit!
Four days was not enough. What a wonderful place this is!
Casa Bramare was spotless, well-appointed and welcoming - it couldn't have been more comfortable. Lisa, the most excellent property manager, treated us as more than guests - we felt like we returning home. This is a truly special village, and it was a privilege to sample (even if so briefly) what makes Italian life so special there. We definately hope to return.

Perfect stay in a perfect house!!
Very nice and small village and in summer much activities with the local people. We enjoyed the food festival and tasted all kind of local food and live music. The house is very clean and complete with all you need. We rented many vacation houses in several years but this one is special and top. Very helpful and friendly owner and property manager! We can recommend this town home.

Fabulous time in Abruzzo
We had a fabulous stay in this fully-equipped town home in the small, hill-top village of Rocca San Giovanni. Lisa, the property manager, was incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. The location is close to several beautiful beaches, and many small towns worth visiting for their history or beauty. Our evening meal at one of the local trabbocchi was unforgettable! I highly recommend this apartment and location for anyone looking to get a good taste of coastal life Abruzzese style.

Generous owner, amazing village, great experience!
We, a family of 4 from Hamburg, Germany, stayed at Casa Bramare for two weeks in July 2012.
Rocca San Giovanni is a very special place. It´s a small village that seems to be fallen out of time. It´s a village for the Italians, it fills up with people mostly from Rome in the summer months; we haven´t seen any tourists from other countries during our stay. Rocca San Giovanni has an impressive church, two bars, a tiny butcher shop, hairdressers, a bank, a small supermarket that offers delicious pizza on weekends and, above all, a beautiful piazza that serves as a living room for the entire village after 9pm. Supermarkets are in the next village (Fossacesia) or at the next motorway exit (half-way to Lanciano).
Casa Bramare is located just beneath the piazza. We gladly confirm everything that has been written about the house. It´s comfortable, it´s well equipped, but apart from all its modern amenities the atmosphere is still that of an old village house where the bells of San Matteo church opposite the street set the hours. Casa Bramare is big enough for a party of 4, the two bathrooms are a definite plus. The traditional vault in the kitchen/living room adds to a very cozy feel; we´ve enjoyed our homemade dinners immensely.
The house is taken care of by a very nice american-italian lady who lives nearby. Generally, communication was excellent and very friendly.
Rocca San Giovanni is just a 10-minute-drive away from the coast where the „Cavallucio“ beach club is the place to go. The Cavallucio doubles as a restaurant which is very popular with locals. If you don´t want to spend money on hiring sunloungers and parasols every day, go to nearby Fossacesia Marina where you find a milelong pebble beach. The atmosphere is very much laidback and not comparable to the seaside ressorts around Pescara or south of Vasto. On weekends we recommend to avoid the (then busier) beaches and drive into the Abruzzo mountains instead. The village of Guardiagrele and the small town of Lanciano are particularly pleasant.
Julie, thank you for everything. We wish you and Casa Bramare lots of guests to share the experience. Auf Wiedersehen!

Our Vacation in Rocca San Giovanni
My husband and I rented this house for a month and had a great time. The property is newly decorated and has everything you need to be comfortable.
We felt being part of this small village enabled us to see the real Italy, its people are very friendly from the butcher accross the road, next to him there is the best hairdresser I have ever had around the corner are a grocers and a vegetable shop.
The house overlooks the Piazza, during the summer months they have all kinds of festivals you can watch from the balcony.
The village boasts a Medieval walk and is set in the Mountains with breath-taking views.
Close by are larger towns if you need Malls etc
We had a great time, we'd go back in a heartbeat.

About the host
Hosted by Julie Stante
I'm an easy going person who loves to travel, meet new people, learn new languages and experience different things. My passion is food, music, the arts and entertaining.
Forget the hotels, my favorite way to travel is to rent flats within my destinations so that I can experience the culture and lifestyle to the fullest degree. There is nothing finer then going to the local markets, buying fresh food and trying to duplicate the delicious meals I’ve appreciated in the local restaurants.
I also love the beach! It's so relaxing and in a way magical the way the sights and sounds of the water soothe the soul. So its no coincidence why the home is located near the beach.
Why they chose this property
I love Italy! I wanted to be close to the beach but also enjoy village life, where I would know the shopkeepers by name (Angelo, Nicola, Frank.....), and have my favorite coffee ready at the bar once the barista (Victoria) saw me crossing the piazza!
For me it had to be the 'Costa dei Trabocchi (the Trabocci coastline) of Abruzzo, with the sea in front of you and the mountains behind. It's central location meant that I would never be too far away too explore all that Italy has to offer.
What makes this property unique
I fell in love with it the moment I opened the door, from the exposed brick vaulted ceilings, the deep set fire place, the Juliette balcony and terraces to the two bathrooms with bidets and towel heated towel racks!
And then there is the village, Rocca San Giovanni and it's people. Kind, helpful and welcoming. There is something special walking through a village where time seems to have stood still, its refreshing and inspirational.
