About this property

Great Place to Get Away to!

This cabin is very cozy, nicely decorated and feels like a dream mountain retreat. This is a beautiful and wonderful remote spot in the Idaho Mountains with fishing, snowmobiling, hiking and quading just waiting for you to expierience it. Anderson Ranch Reservoir is a few miles down the road with boating, fishing and swimming. There are also nature's hot pots (Baumgartner Hot Springs is up the road a bit and hot springs are also located along the river by the Johnson Bridge.
The outdoor fire pit is waiting for you to roast marshmallows and cook hot dogs. Roasting sticks are in the cabin. Maybe you'll be lucky and a beautiful buck or doe will come to see what you are up to. At dawn and dusk sometimes Deer and Elk wander by the cabin. It's fun to watch all of nature just out the front door.
In the winter there are miles and miles of groomed snowmobile trails. You can drive in and snowmobile out from our cabin. You can snowmobile north to Rocky Bar (a ghost town) and then head towards Atlanta or loop back past the Trinity Lakes at 9,000 ft in elevation. So many sites are breathtaking and a beauty to behold no matter the season. It's a wonderful place to use your photography skills and take family pictures to treasure forever.
If you don't have the 'toys' (i.e. quads, motorcycles, boats, wave runners, etc) there are many things to do and see close to home or if you like to explore further you can drive up past Rocky Bar to Atlanta or to the Trinity Lakes - or take a drive through the mountains to Sun Valley or Boise via the back roads. Try your luck at panning for gold in the rivers if you want to or have a picnic under the soft pines near the mountains and lakes.

Come and experience the mountains!

THEMED DECORATED ROOMS
Our cabin is decorated with items from around the world and near home in the mountains, things that make us feel at peace, calm and happy. Each of the main rooms (bedrooms and living areas) have themed decor, this makes for a fun and memorable experience

The Living Room is called 'THE FOUR SEASON RETREAT 'and is a comfortable place to gather with family and friends for talks and laughter around the warm and cozy wood stove. The couches are deep and soft with pictures and decorating items depicting nature in all its' seasons and wonder. There are battery lite candles for your ambiance in the deep window sills

The Family Room is a large Loft and and entertainment area and is called 'NATIVE VOICES' and a place to relax and chat or watch movies. This area makes a great teenage hangout and is decorated with Indian rugs and baskets. From Africa we have wall hangings and woven art and hats, there are lots of hand painted leather pillows and carvings in ebony and stone from Egypt along with a lot of personality. This is also where I exercise and there are many DVD's for that purpose.(This room also has 3 couches that can be made into hide-a-beds, there is 1 king, 1 queen and 1 twin size.)

The master bedroom is called 'SERENITY MOUNTAIN' and is decorated with tapestries with mountains and lakes and beautiful original art of the local mountain area. The colors and decor make this a peaceful retreat.

The upstairs bedroom 'BOHEMIAN WANDERINGS' has rich fabric and brightly colored bedspread with a woven wall hanging from a far land and the closet is covered with sheers and beads from top to floor. There are battery operated candles waiting to be used in the deep window sill and local art showing the beauties of nature near the cabin. There is currently a twin bed also in this room that could be used by a parent who needs their little one close at hand.

The last bedroom is a Large Loft area with two queen beds. This room is called 'WILDERNESS DREAMS' The bedspreads have bears and moose and friendly wild animals on them and are cozy and thick with down filling. There are 2 canoe shelves with fun items on them and a bright custom painted mirror. This is a inviting place for a anyone - adult to children to spend time with the people they love the most. Our married nieces and their children loved being up here together. We have also replaced three of our older mattresses this spring (2024).

About the host

We have been enjoying this area since before we were married. (That was shortly after the crust of the earth had cooled according to our children. . .) We had another cabin just two doors down where we had been coming for a respite from the world for over 30 years but sold that one to simplify our lives a bit. We have lived in the Timbuktu region of west Africa (Mali), Mississippi, Texas, Utah, Idaho and Arizona. This is our favorite spot out of all the places we have lived or visited.

Why they chose this property

Gary's family purchased the cabin in the 1980's. It has been a family treasure since that time. Our family moved quite a bit while the kids were growing up and they thought of the cabin more as home than where ever we were living. We have wonderful memories of the area and want to share them with you!

What makes this property unique

We have set the cabin up with themed rooms and have named them. The main living area is the Four Seasons Retreat, the master bedroom is the Serenity Mountain, the family area is Native Voices, the second bedroom is Bohemian Wanderings and the loft sleeping area is called Wilderness Dreams.

The two bedrooms have queen beds. The Wilderness Dreams loft has two queen beds and there is one queen bed in the Native Voices (front loft) area.
