Cozy Log Cabin

Everything our family needed for our first nights in Yukon, and we couldn't be more pleased with the property. Listing erroneously lists a hot tub, but this is a VRBO site error. Not the owners fault!

50th Birthday trip

I grew up in the Yukon and wanted to make it back with some friends for my 50th birthday. Haines Junction and Kluane National Park were places I could not miss. The Haven in the Willows was an amazing place to spend time at. It's a beautiful, spacious log cabin with comfortable beds. We cooked meals at the cabin and were amazed by the full array of items provided. There was everything we needed and it was all perfectly organized. Dan and Donna's communication was great. They gave a recommendation for a fishing guide which was a highlight of our trip. I don't think you could find better accommodation or hosts in Haines Junction!

Nestled among the Willows

My wife and I were most happy with our stay in Haines Junction. Though a small town, people were friendly and pleasant. The house was gorgeous and easy to make ourselves at home in, all as promised. Advice to travellers, there is only one small grocery store with limited stock (we bought the last container of milk on our first day and they never got more up to when we left) so might want to plan ahead a little. On the other hand, there is a wonderful bakery/deli/coffee shop which was amazing. Close to Kluane Park (also amazing). We’d recommend staying here and making sure to visit Kathleen Lake!! Crazy amount of wildlife on the drive up/back from Muncho Lake to Whitehorse! Donna was great to deal with and provided little subtleties for us and for little Ellie :)

Perfect Kluane stay

Hosts were accommodating and quick to respond to our requests. They added some thoughtful touches such as fudge and pancake mix for us to enjoy. The home was beautiful and very well appointed. A perfect place to spend some time exploring Kluane. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Solitude

Haven in the Willows is a beautiful home for those looking for a peaceful sojourn and gateway to one of the most spectacular national parks on the planet. The hosts are wonderfully kind and welcoming, providing us with everything we needed. When we arrived at their log home in the midnight sun, we found orange flowers and a package of artisan treats and local coffees on the kitchen table for us to enjoy. Every day spent in the home was a vacation. The home has everything.. The only regret is not being able to live in it full time; always hearing the sound of silence; and breathing in the solitude and the seclusion of a place so magical that it is hard to put into words.

Truly a haven

We had a wonderful time in this really comfortable cabin in a spectacular part of the world. We spent the week hiking and marveling at the wilderness. The cabin was perfect for exploring the area, with its beautiful landscapes and remote trails. Haines Junction itself has got a good selection of eateries (Village Bakery is a must) and a grocery store - all very convenient and very welcome after a day in the mountains. Dan and Donna were extremely helpful and responsive at all times. They made everything very easy. We would highly recommend this beautiful home for the perfect wilderness getaway!

Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing!

Haven in the Willows was everything we were looking for in a quiet week away. The cabin had all the comforts of home but was wonderfully private and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable, the place was very clean, and the photos don't do it justice - it is beautiful! The furnace kept us nice and warm, but we could have done with a couple more throw blankets for cuddling in the evening. We enjoyed a trip into Whitehorse for a day at the ski hill and then the Takhini Hot Springs, but other than that, stayed and enjoyed quiet time together as a family. We were hoping to see some nice Aurora displays from the back deck, but the conditions weren't quite right while we were here. Not much anyone can do about that though. We did have a couple evenings of nice star gazing. Thank you for such a great vacation!

Absolutely Beautiful!

Just upon arrival, we were impressed with how gorgeous the property was. I had been looking for a more "luxurious" cabin to stay in for part of our stay in Yukon. This property surpassed all of my expectations. It was comfortable and I felt totally at home right away. Dan and Donna have thought of everything and all of the details they've put into the place has made it just unforgettable. I can't give enough praise -- THIS is the place you want to stay while in Haines Junction. We will definitely be back! :)

Hard To Top This!!!!

This was our first time in the Yukon Territory and our first impression was a great one. The owners were very easy to get in touch with, communication back and forth was excellent, helpful and very informative. The location of this home was in an excellent location for easy access to Whitehorse and Kluane NP. The arrangement was well thought out and made for great comfort and down time. We haven't slept in a beds as cozy as these in what seemed like forever. The cleanliness and organization of the home was well above normal standards. My hats off to the owners for an amazing job well done. The area itself is absolutely beautiful and the wildlife is out there if you time it right. Saw many grizzly bears, dall sheep, a couple lynx and a few moose. In the end, we didn't want to leave. VERY much looking forward to our return and highly nominate this as one of the top places we've ever stayed in and recommend it without a doubt!!!!! Todd, Mary & Daughters Michigan, USA

Outstanding Accommodations in Haines Junction

Our group of 4 adults spent 8 nights at Haven in the Willows in mid-July. The cabin stands out as a unique, self-catering accommodation in Haines Junction, and is a great base for exploring the stunning and captivating scenery in the area. It is well-designed around an open and airy concept, is very functional and is nicely furnished. Dan and Donna are excellent hosts who take a sincere interest in the well-being of their guests, and obviously spend a fair bit of time, money and effort on this property to keep it maintained to a high standard. We highly recommend this rental for any couples, families or friends who may be considering a vacation in the Yukon. Thank you Dan and Donna for a wonderful stay; we certainly hope to return!

First-class home base for visiting Kluane National Park

Two senior married couples used Haven in the Willows as our "base camp" for 8 days of hiking, canoeing, flight seeing and wildlife viewing up and down Kluane. It was effect in every way. Beds were comfortable, kitchen and barbecue well equipped, views from the porch outstanding including watching the resident hares and grouse eating seeds knocked out of the restocked bird feeder by squires and other birds. Dan and Donna keep everything in top shape and are responsive to any needs and were helpful in our trip planning as well. We will be back.

Everything you could hope for!

This beautiful log home was everything we hoped for! The owner had left great instructions to find their property located in the picturesque town of Haines Junction. Various instructions were also left inside, so we didn't have to guess about anything! We spent a week in July exploring beautiful Kluane National Park, fishing in the babbling brooks and buying fresh-baked goods at the local bakery. Located only an hour and a half from Whitehorse, a day trip is very doable. It was a pleasure and a privilege to start and end our day at Haven in the Willows!
