A very romantic space! The perfect atmosphere for the writer or artist. The large, open great room is inviting for yoga and exercise practice. A former church, this renovation has maintained a peaceful and meditative quality.A good place to make or listen to music. .Small back porch with a table and chairs.,Dogs are very welcome and the back porch area has a fenced in area they seem to like!!!!.Pretty bathroom with shower. The kitchen counter was once the counter in the old country store in the village of Lawsonham. The woodwork is beautiful and the high ceilings give one the feeling of freedom .The many windows invite the outside in. Come and rest a while, create, enjoy! So very close to the Lawsonham Rails to Trails entrance.Great opportunity for hiking and bicycling.!

This amazing place was exactly what I needed. I had a long weekend "silent solo retreat" and all I did was play with all my neglected art supplies. It was a beautiful and peaceful place and I'm so glad I found it. I am looking forward to coming back.
We love staying in this church! It’s great for a long weekend. We cook, we hike, we laugh, we solve puzzles! And we refresh. I can’t say enough about this place! We love it!
Everything about our stay was outstanding! The house was unique, comfortable, well-equipped and relaxing. The location is quiet and relatively secluded, with friendly little towns and great food just a short hop in any direction. Just an all-around great experience!
Mary was an excellent host and the sweetest woman. She called us before our arrival so she could meet us there and let us in, then called again just as we were about to leave to wish us safe travels. The entire property is gorgeous and well kept. Will definitely book this one again.
The church is delightful. We loved the feeling of time and history there. The space has a wonderful feel to it, and the outside spaces are delightful as well. The stone circle is also great. I got some wonderful pictures of one of the dogs in the stone circle and both dogs on the nearby trail playing in the creek. It was a short but wonderful stay!
We've stayed here before, and it's our first choice for coming back to. If you're looking for a large, quiet, well-appointed place isolated from a lot of the rest of the world - there is a road nearby, this place is for you.

just what we wanted
The place was delightful, and just what we were looking for - quiet, reasonably secluded, and in a good location. There's plenty around for nature lovers to explore.
This is such a unique and clearly loved property. Lots of interesting furniture and art, but not in a stuffy way! It was extremely comfortable and cozy for my husband and I and our pup! Highly recommend.
This little renovated church is perfection. It is by far the best VRBO I have stayed at! The well stocked kitchen makes for easy cooking and the small library has a fun selection! Wi-Fi is spot on and fast for this rural location. I can’t wait to go back!
We had so much fun it reminded us of our separate childhoods. The grounds and pathways behind the church were straight out of a storybook. Absolutely incredible untouched piece of heaven. We came on a beautiful week where the sun was shining and the grass was green. Mary was wonderful and showed us her Incredible art collection. 75/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The property is beautifully remodeled by Mary and her brother, and their personal touches throughout the property are unique and creative. The location is within a short drive of great hiking spots and local restaurants in the area. The only feedback we have relates to the mattress in the main bedroom; it would be worthwhile to upgrade the bed to be more comfortable and less "springy" with noise.
This is our second time staying at this lovely, place. Mary is so welcoming to her absolutely beautiful property. The entire vibe to the building, the surrounding grounds, the various towns a few miles down the road feels like home. The only downside is that it isn’t closer for us to get to more often. Our pups enjoy being”country dogs” for a few days too. We cannot speak more highly of our time here. It’s just simply good for the heart, mind and the soul.
Loved the way the church redone to be living quarters. Airy and spacious. We don't have dogs but there is a small fenced yard if you do. House in right on the road but there is little traffic. Very close to the Redbank Valley trail. Enjoyed the views of the woods and watching the deer and birds. We stayed here to be within a much more reasonable driving distance to see the eclipse (which was amazing, btw) and to keep some distance from crowds. We enjoyed hiking the nearby trail (12.6 miles total) and want to come stay again to explore more of the trails around the area.
My husband and I along with our pups stayed at this absolutely beautiful property. Mary was welcoming and knowledgeable. Basics were available, the check in process could not have been easier. Stores were only a few minutes down the road. Nearby restaurants were good, clean and friendly. The nature walks and hikes were lovely and peaceful. This was our first time using this platform and at the property. We absolutely recommend this location and plan to come back. Just book, you’ll be so happy that you did!

Perfect place!
This place is wonderful. We came out for an isolated weekend and spent our time in the quiet, drinking coffee and reading.
The house is beautiful, comfortable, and warm (its 16 degrees outside). Our dog was welcomed and really seemed to enjoy the open floor plan.
I honestly can’t say an unkind word about the place. I found it to be calming an supremely restful.
I have every intention of returning in the spring for some fishing or any time I need to really rest.
Also, the ownership was super friendly and genuinely concerned that we enjoy ourselves. Very nice people.
This was quite a find and we enjoyed our stay very much. So much history that is preserved. Our host, Mary, was so nice. She left treats for the dogs, which they enjoyed and a pumpkin for us. The fenced in yard is wonderful for the dogs. Things we didn't think of to bring were there already. Such a comfy place. I enjoyed sitting with blanket and dog in my lap reading. I sat at the desk in the study to start writting a sermon for next month. Very relaxing and enjoyable couple of days. Thank you!
Serene rural area just around the corner from a trailhead for hiking with your dog (ours loved it). The home is an art museum crossed with a cozy log cabin, and had all of the amenities needed. The land is gorgeous. It was nice to open the windows and run the fans to bring in the fresh, country air. The silence and solitude of the location was a tremendous diversion from suburban life. The main room of the property was terrific for recording songs on acoustic guitar. Ideal getaway for someone starting work on a novel. Hope to return!
