Amma’s Place is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, within a 10-minute driving access to downtown DC . Walk a few blocks to neighborhood restaurants like Red Hen, Big Bear Cafe, DC City Smokehouse or a short Uber ride to the DC Wharf, U Street, or Union Market, or 7thStreet with many restaurants, like Beau Thai or Ambar (Balkan).
Whether traveling with a party of 8 or couples, this recently renovated four-bedroom, three and a half bath, 2,600 square feet townhome is well equipped with modern kitchen appliances and washer and dryer for your convenience. This home features a gourmet eat-in kitchen that leads to an open deck area for casual dining in nice weather. Parking is also available for up to two cars if needed. It is a quiet respite from a long day of sightseeing - well air conditioned for the summer and cozily heated during the winter. Streaming services are provided free for relaxing after dinner - on 2 smart TV’s. WiFi is also free!
The home has all you would comfortably need for relaxing after a busy day touring DC with family, or friends. We want your stay to be memorable. Please refer to the guide for house rules regarding use of the home. Also, in consideration of other neighbors and residents in the lower level we ask for quiet hours from 11 pm through 7:30 am. Exceptional townhouse in DC where our party of six stayed for a wedding weekend. Easy access to all places we needed - Capital Hill, Georgetown, Alexandria. Clean and spacious with all the amenities. I stayed here with my mom for our birthday weekend and we loved the neighborhood this property is in! A short walk down to Rhode Island Ave where there were a couple restaurants to choose from and close to Capital St. The unit itself was as advertised and was a great fit for us.

Couldn't have asked for more. Well stocked large updated kitchen, large comfortable living area, plenty of room in the second floor bedrooms with a large bathroom in the main bedroom as well as the third story bedroom. Very cute historical front and two parking areas in the back.

Perfect for a DC Getaway!

we had an incredible stay at this lovely rental just a mile from the U.S. Capitol! The location is perfect, complete with parking, with easy access to Howard University, great restaurants, and beautiful parks for exploring. The neighborhood is quiet yet conveniently close to everything you need, wonderful to just walk around and look at the beautiful homes. This apartment is absolutely ideal for families, offering plenty of privacy, space and comfort. The host was incredibly responsive and provided excellent communication throughout our stay. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Washington – I will definitely be back!

This was a beautiful property right in the heart of DC. The location was excellent and everything was in either walking distance or short drive or ride on the Metro. I'm a bit of a VRBO veteran at this point and this was easily the nicest property I've ever stayed at. Communication with the host Karen was excellent and I was always replied to in a matter of minutes. If your visiting the DC area anytime soon I highly recommend staying at this property. My Wife and I were in town with another couple to attend the Warped Tour concert festival. The property has plenty of room to accommodate 4 adults with plenty of rooms to spare. Stay here, you won't regret it.

I am a long-time DC resident and I recently started hosting and enjoy making others comfortable for their visit to a really unique destination that is DC. I really enjoyed meeting my h=guests from far and wide in 2024 and decided to expand the availability of the property to host more guests. I hope that 2025 continues to be as enlightening as the past year.

Why they chose this property

Bloomingdale DC is my home for over twenty years and I enjoy that it is easy to get to many downtown attractions either walking, biking or driving, while still being a quiet place away from the busier activities of a tourist destination. The neighborhood presents the other side of DC outside of the federal attractions/museums and entertainment areas.

What makes this property unique

The four-bedroom home is recently renovated -completed in December 2023 and I lived in the basement level as we renovated the upper level of the home. The home is furnished as we lived in it during 2024 while hosting our guests in the lower two-bedroom level. It has all new Samsung electric appliances and it is well equipped for all you may need for a short or longer stay. The WiFi is great! (Fios) and is free. On-site parking is available. Best of all you, can call on us if you need help with anything!
