We wanted to take a moment to clarify the check-in experience you mentioned. When you arrived, the automated code was not delivered because the card provided for the reservation was declined. In situations like this, our system pauses code delivery for security reasons until payment is confirmed. We manually let you in immediately upon your arrival and reached out multiple times to help resolve the payment issue. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive a response until later — after we had to change the code as a precaution. We always strive to offer seamless communication and support, and in this case, the delay was due to the declined card and a gap in response time, not a lapse on our end. That said, we’re glad we could still get you in quickly and that your stay was enjoyable overall.

Thank you for acknowledging the home's great location, spacious layout, and suitability for your family. We are disappointed, however, by several serious claims in this review that we strongly dispute. From the beginning, we communicated extensively with this guest and, as a gesture of hospitality, even provided a discount before their stay began. Most concerning is the allegation of "mold in multiple areas" of the home. We take any claim involving mold extremely seriously, and we have found no evidence supporting the assertion that our home has a mold problem. It is also noteworthy that this guest documented and photographed numerous other items throughout the property for the purpose of supporting her complaints, yet provided no photograph showing the alleged mold she now describes as being visible in "multiple areas." Had obvious mold actually been present in several locations, one would reasonably expect it to have been among the extensively documented photographs submitted by the guest. Regarding the front door, there was a loose passage-style handle, which we acknowledge should have been tightened. However, that handle was not the home's locking mechanism. The door is secured by a completely separate deadbolt, which was functioning properly and securely. Characterizing the home as unsecured or suggesting that the front door could not be safely locked is simply inaccurate. What was especially troubling was what occurred afterward. Weeks after completing the stay, this guest attempted to dispute the charge through her bank and sought reimbursement for more than half of the reservation based largely on these allegations. This was after we had already provided her a discounted stay before the reservation even began. Taken together, the extensive documentation of relatively minor complaints, the absence of photographic evidence supporting the most serious allegation, and the subsequent attempt to recover more than half of the reservation cost left us with serious concerns about the motivation behind these claims. We work very hard to take care of our guests, address legitimate concerns, and maintain our home. We will always take genuine maintenance issues seriously, but we will also defend our property and our team when serious allegations are unsupported by the evidence and subsequently used in an effort to obtain a substantial post-stay refund.
