Rustic 2 BR, 1 Bath Cottage With Private Association Beach Access To Lake Huron

Thank you for your time to leave a review. As I let you know we have one more rental and the cottage will be taken off Vrbo. People have zero clue on what it takes to do this. I will gleefully enjoy my cottage and all it’s flaws moving forward;)

I am so sorry, it is right across m25. I will make it a point to leave instructions at the cottage and not just assume people will reach out to me if they need anything.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience. However, I feel it’s important to provide context for future guests. This rental has clear rules regarding occupancy, parking, and use of the property—rules that are in place to ensure safety, compliance with local regulations, and consideration for neighbors. Unfortunately, during your stay, those guidelines were repeatedly disregarded. There were significantly more vehicles (8) and visitors (20)than permitted, and it appeared the home was being used as a gathering spot for people not listed on the reservation. I reached out several times to address these concerns respectfully and remind you of the rental agreement. At no point were you harassed or threatened. In fact, after ongoing violations, VRBO support urged me to contact local authorities and have your group escorted from the property around 10:00 PM. I chose not to take that step because I didn’t want to leave your family without a place to stay for the night. Unfortunately, after allowing you to remain, the situation escalated. A bonfire was started and the group continued partying into the early morning hours. We have video evidence of unregistered guests stumbling around the property at 2 a.m., which raised serious safety and liability concerns. I take pride in offering a peaceful, respectful environment for all guests. While I regret that this was not a good fit, I have a responsibility to enforce the house rules and protect the property, neighbors, and future guests.

Thank you for letting us know about the stove. I will get it repaired or replaced right away. I am sorry that the minute drive to the water was too far. We enjoy being on the other side of m25. It allows us the keep the prices for your stay down and we really like the privacy.

This was text message between this guest and myself… I understand that you're upset. So am I. Your original date was in June. You tried to back out, I said sorry no refunds but out of my own kindness I let you reschedule for no extra fee to a prime part of the following month. You came, you saw, you left 14hrs early and you want a refund??? Was I hard to get ahold of. Did I miss a phone call. Listen renting cottages isn't for everyone. This quest is someone you should stay away from at all cost.

Nasty person who tried to extort a free stay for a good review. When we didn’t go along with it she tried to get vrbo to close this account, that didn’t work either.

Thank you for letting me know about your concerns. The fireplace is actually a heater/furnace, once the room is at temperature it kicks off. I would of been happy to show you how to adjust it if you would of let me know while you were there. As far as the other items they will either be repaired or replaced immediately.
