This lovely, yet comfortable home in Redding is perfect for families looking for a private getaway. The large kitchen/great room has multiple windows and atrium doors looking out at the beautifully landscaped in-ground pool, and the lovely woods beyond. Tucked away at the back of the property is a private tennis court surrounded by oak and maple trees.

There are 4 comfortable bedrooms, three upstairs, and one on the ground floor. There is also a full bath on the ground floor which is convenient if anyone in your party has difficulty with stairs. Nature lovers will enjoy the assortment of birds attracted by the many flowers in the gardens. Deer, rabbits and fox may be spotted crossing the property if you happen to be watching at the right time.

Just 54 miles from New York City, and 15 minutes north of the Merritt Parkway, you will find all the modern day comforts in rural Redding. The four-bedroom home is seated on 2.5 acres and has 2500 square foot living space, 3 full baths, and a dining room that seats 8 comfortably. There is cable tv and wifi. The back of the house opens to the private, fenced in pool area with lounge chairs, a gas grill, and a outdoor table that seats 8. There is a second, smaller table that seats 5.

The hosts are experienced and committed to providing great stays for guests. Host lives on the property in attached apartment and is available to answer questions 24/7. He cleans and services the pool early each morning.

Relax at the pool

Fantastic property for a relaxing family vacation. The pool was great for cooling off and swimming some laps. The poolside flowers attracted colorful butterflies, goldfinches and hummingbirds to add to the enjoyment. The young kids loved using the tennis/basketball court to ride their scooters while the older members shot baskets. Wendy and Todd are gracious hosts, and everything we needed for the week was available. The welcoming homebaked cookies were a real treat! We used the outdoor grill a few nights and enjoyed both take-out and dine-in at some local restaurants in Redding, Bethel and Monroe. The scenic drives to other towns are through hilly woods and rural farmlands and no one is in a rush on the sparsely traveled roads. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet while the house is very clean and nicely furnished. We highly recommend this home for a get away vacation in rural Connecticut. Be sure to stop at Dr. Mike's Ice Cream parlor in Bethel while you are there for some incredible ice cream!

Great VRBO!

This rural property is beautifully kept, with fall zinnias and sunflowers flourishing. The pool was spotless and the owners willing to heat if needed. We did not use the tennis court but enjoyed the rope swing and stunning hilly yard. Parking is more than adequate. The owners live on site but worked successfully to respect our privacy, and we had absolutely no issues during our week - plus stay. Their presence would have been a benefit if we had needed anything special, but both Todd and Wendy responded to texts immediately anyway. My whole family enjoyed our stay and really felt welcome by the owners. Highly recommend!

Better than the Pics - special spot!

Agree with other reviewers: the property was a delightful getaway for the family and better than expected from the listing pics. Todd and Wendy were so warm and friendly- added to the experience. The kids loved the tennis/basketball courts, swings and swimming pool. The go-cart and surprise shark, dinosaur and water table toys that would arrive poolside every morning for our sons were an added treat. For us parents, the homemade cookies, granola, flowers and milk/eggs/oj to get us started was perfect. Would definitely come again.

Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay! The kids loved the pool, the tennis / basketball court, and the tree swing. Todd laid out new pool toys each day and the kids loved to wake up and see what was left out. My daughter (4yo) was particularly thrilled with the Barbie boat and Barbie’s. Todd and Wendy are very friendly and super responsive. Kitchen had everything we needed. They even stocked with eggs, milk, and OJ. Lots of little thoughtful details. We would love to stay here again. And the cookies are 💯!

Wonderful Vacation Home

This home was exactly what my family needed for our visit to Connecticut! We had 6 adults, 2 toddlers and one baby and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. The pool was absolutely gorgeous and so well maintained. The owners cleaned it every day and even put out new floats and toys each morning. The boys loved the sharks and dinosaurs! We will definitely stay with Todd and Wanda again!

Fantastic Property

We had the most wonderful time at Todd and Wendy's beautiful home. One could not ask for nicer hosts . Upon our arrival, we were greeted w homemade cookies and granola. Every morning we woke up to find the grounds cleaned to perfection-flowers cut, pool cleaned, and they even left different floaties for our kids every day. We felt like we were at a resort. Truly a magical place. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay at this house.

Incredible oasis!!!!

The most gracious hosts who shared their beautiful home, complete with pool, tree swing, and tennis court with basketball hoop. This was the perfect vacation for our family. Beds were super comfortable. Fresh homemade cookies welcomed us on the first day. And every morning our hosts cleaned the pool and set out new pool toys for our kids. Considerate, kind, generous, and hospitable...we need more adjectives! Nestled on a quiet street, this home became our private spa vacation. Looking forward to returning as a family and considering a friend retreat too!!!

More to offer than the pictures

The property is stunning, pics don’t do justice. The couple Todd and Wendy stay on the property (separately) and that’s a great help for items that come up. The house is super clean, renovated and very thoughtfully done. The tennis courts even for avid tennis players, is professional quality. The pool is one of the best pools - hotel quality. We are definitely going back.

Picturesque house in Redding

Big clean house with plenty of space, fully stocked with all necessities. Best part of house was the immaculate grounds which were maintained every day by owners. Owners were very friendly, supplied us with fresh flowers and homemade cookies!

FABULOUS REDDING HOME

We were extremely satisfied with our stay in this beautiful Redding home. The hosts are extremely gracious and friendly; and very responsive to any questions. The house is super clean (COVID clean) and not at all cluttered. The open kitchen area is well appointed with utensils, dishes, etc. and allowed us to be able to cook indoors or BBQ outdoors. The backyard is beautiful, surrounded by gorgeous flowers, plants and trees. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, which was maintained daily; the tennis court and walking in the area. Would do it again without any hesitation!

Fabulous and fun

Lovely and very functional house with a lot of outdoor activities right on the property - there is basketball;Tennis;pool;a swing that kids will love. Hosts are very helpful and despite being on the property give you complete privacy.And even though the house is located in a quiet neighborhood - Uber works and towns of Greenwich and Westport are 30-35mins while NYC is 75-90mins away.Excellent all around experience.

Bucolic setting

We stayed here for a week with our grandsons, age 11 & 6, and my daughter. The setting is beautiful. A pool surrounded by flowers, large private yard on a quiet dead end street. The kids had a great time in pool, on the swing and fooling around on a semi useful tennis court. Todd was available and very gracious. We would consider staying there again if we go back to this area in the future.

Review of Redding, CT property

Property is spacious and in a very beautiful and peaceful setting. It's isolated though that's just what we wanted and nearby Bethel and Danbury are easily accessed We had a day in New Haven with a tour of Yale which is excellent. We also had a great time swimming and kayaking at nearby Topstone Park. Todd could not have been more helpful ahead of the visit or hospitable during our stay and we're very grateful to him for a terrific vacation.

More beautiful than described!

We had a wonderful family vacation last week at the house. The hosts were available for whatever we needed, and at the same time gave us privacy to enjoy the house all on our own. The house has a great pool, BBQ and two tables with shade umbrellas, all set to the backdrop of a lovely wooded and botanical landscape. Other than for groceries, we didn't need to leave the house all week! Both kids and adults had fun in the pool and in the grass. It's also close to NYC via metro north. We definitely recommend staying here!

Perfect Holiday

The warm and friendly welcome from Wendy and Todd set the tone for our 12-day holiday. Their comfortable, well equipped and spacious family home is ideal for all ages. The down stair bedroom and full bathroom was a must for our 89- year dad. The house is situated in a quiet cul de sac and the secluded and extensive garden is a delight for wildlife enthusiasts and a paradise for children. The pool area is secure and the pool itself is well maintained ~ a real treat for those hot sultry days. Todd dealt with all our queries promptly and professionally and we would love to return when in the area again.

Wonderful country home, great for family!

This country home is everything described and more! My husband and I stayed for an extended visit to be with our children and grandchildren. The home is very spacious with a large dinning, kitchen and living room. The owners were more than gracious helping us with any needs and questions we had. The home itself is decorated very nicely with lovely pottery and artwork. It is a very family friendly home with some toys, books for children and a lovely tire swing outside as well as pool. The countryside is beautiful with many hiking areas nearby. We would definitely come here again and would not hesitate to recommend it to any of our friends and family.

A Warm Redding Retreat

Wonderful, relaxing home

We enjoyed the spotless and well-equipped home as well as the location that offered some wonderful walks. It was close enough to NYC to allow us to enjoy a day in the city. I'd highly recommend this comfortable home.
