This two-bedroom, two-bath condo features an open floor plan, giving it a penthouse feel. The living room and kitchen are sunken, leading to a large, spacious deck with an unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. The upstairs bedroom is a large loft that overlooks the lower level, offering year-round sunsets. The unit is equipped with a king bed in the loft, a queen-size bed in the downstairs bedroom, a washer and dryer, and all the other furnishings our guests have come to expect and enjoy with Maui Lodging Properties. High-speed internet access is also available.

Maui (Lahaina) vacation 1-30 thru 2-6-2020

Excellent property. All the necessary amenities. Great location. The frequent visit by sea turtles to the property beach was a nice bonus. Will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful ocean view, quick replies from hosts. Unfortunately only 1 parking spot with no option to pay for a 2nd stall. Overall great stay though.

Spectacular location

We had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect, right on the beach. And a bonus to watch turtles and whales all week, with sunsets from the lanai at night. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for the week. A screen door on the front to allow air flow and different windows in the extra room to quiet the loud road noise would be my only suggestions.

Love this property, and think the on-site manager. Larry is outstanding. Roof leaked in 2nd bedroom on our 2nd day - water all over the floor. No follow up or compensation for the inconvenience. Can’t beat the view or the beach. Unit desperately needs an update in kitchen and bathrooms.

If you are an entitled 70+ year old, this is a place for you! Our family stayed at this property many years ago, and really enjoyed it so we returned. This time we were met with many of the condo owners, which happened to be elderly people who do not enjoy guests at ‘their’ property. We were treated so poorly and made to feel so uncomfortable it was hard to enjoy the property. We definitely won’t be returning and I regret having recommended Hale Mahina to people previously. Save yourself thousands of dollars and go someplace you’ll feel welcome!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this complex many times. This unit had many minor issues such as, cooktop not working, toilet running, lights not working, damaged washing machine, TV service worked intermittently, threadbare dining chairs, uncomfortable furniture. All minor inconveniences, but not something you want to deal with while on vacation. Property manager was great to work with.

Great location in need of updating

The location was a nice neighborhood and the view was amazing. The condo itself was dated and in need of a refresh. The sofa bed was uncomfortable and the sheets on it were dirty and stained. The couch itself was uncomfortable There was no comfortable seating in the entire place. The upstairs bedroom furniture was very old and worn. If you’re not planning to spend much time in the condo the place was good. We spent most of the time outside or away but when we were at the condo the place is old and tired and needs a refresh. The price should reflect the condition. There are other units on the same property for the same rate and are in much better condition.

Hidden Gem with Gorgeous Views

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at Hale Mahina, and our first (but not last) in this unit. It has everything I want in a vacation rental: 1) Nothing but water to see out the window (and all units face the ocean).2) Master bedroom that also faces the ocean.3) Swimmable, never crowded beach directly in front of the property.4) A truly private balcony (Bldg A only).5) Small, quiet complex.Can't beat a top floor unit with a loft master bedroom facing the ocean. You can see both the islands of Lanai and Molokai from the balcony. The unit was clean, and well stocked with kitchen necessities and beach items. Both real beds were comfortable, although the king size in the loft is incredibly high. The property is beautiful with a great sandy beach and sea turtles swimming by all day long. There is also a small pool that’s never crowded or noisy. This unit is perfect for a family with teens and small children. Something to note if you're planning to use the full occupancy of 6:As with pretty much all sleeper sofas, the one in this unit is unusable as a bed by an adult, and is also a pretty bad couch. (I wish more vacation rentals would just put in a futon couch.) Also, adults vacationing together might want to be aware that neither bedroom is truly private. The master is a loft open to the living room, and the second bedroom is open at the vaulted ceiling, and only has a shoji screen type door.That said, this unit is perfect for our family of 4. We loved staying here and will definitely be back on our next visit to Maui.

Great Location, Great Price

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for 11 nights in Hale Mahina A-403. We were two couples and the condo was great for us. The location is right on the beach, and the pool is in the center of the units. Because the complex is small (around 50 units) the pool, pool area, and beach were uncrowded - generally not more than a dozen or so within sight. We loved that the location of the pool allows you to see the ocean and sunsets from the pool, or the grassy area. The beach is small but perfect. There's a sandy area for ocean entry and swimming, and there are rocky and coral areas for snorkeling. When there were waves, surfing and boogie boarding is also right out front. EVERYTHING was right there. It was very hot the first couple of days. People said it was hotter than usual, but other locals said it's always hot in September. There is no AC in this condo, or in the complex, or in most condos in this area. There were fans, but we went to Longs and bought another. We were sleeping in the loft, and it was quite hot for the first couple of nights. It was hot every night, actually, but bearable with the fans and only a sheet. After the first couple of days, the tradewinds picked up and it was more comfortable. I'd dump the carpet in the bedrooms and just go with tile or wood. The living areas are tiled, which keeps it cleaner and cooler. The kitchen was well-equipped and we ate in a lot. We used the BBQs down by the pool. They require charcoal, but are cleaned each morning by Larry, the fabulous onsite manager. We loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat.

Home away from home

Perfect for family of 4: parents and 2 teens.Best part is being right on the beach. Full kitchen and BBQ in front of beach makes meal prep easy.Older teen boy getting bigger so roll out sofa not as comfortable as before but not a big complaint.Easy walk to coffee, bakery, general store, snorkel rentals. Excellent communication on part of owner/ manager. Very relaxed environment, no crowds.

Can’t Wait To Return

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay very much! Some of the previous reviews made us a little nervous, but our experience was wonderful! The unit itself met all of our needs, beds for everyone, fully equipped kitchen, and the view could not be beat, we enjoyed sunset from the balcony each night! The pool & beach were great as well. We enjoyed how laid back & kind everyone was & enjoyed the proximity to coffee, restaurants, etc. A couple minor things, we could have used more pillows specifically for the extra bed in living room, the toaster does not work well, and it would be very nice to have a screen door on the front door for airflow, but nothing that changed our experience drastically at all. We hope to return to Maui in the future & would love to stay here again. It was pure heaven on earth!

Vacation

The beauty of the view was the best thing sadly. This is my 14th time to the island and I’m sad to say this condo was the 1st one that I had stayed at that sadly has not put much back into their condo. For the price that is being charged it’s sad that an owner doesn’t invest a bit more into their place. All outside furniture was very unkept, glass top table was not cleaned, beach chairs rusted out and fabric completely tore on 1. Coffee pots were so so dirty and on the first brewed pot prior to us cleaning it was very bad taste. Tiles broke on entry stairs, missing tiles in main bathroom shower, floor upstairs right outside the bathroom had a pile of sand that was not cleaned up prior to our arrival, front bedroom had a roof leak that we reported and sadly the lack of communication that they even came and looked at the issue.

Wonderful Condo and Stay

Loved our stay in this location! When we arrived they had the TV's on with Hawaiian music playing and the windows opened for us to air the condo out and keep it cooler. This condo does not have AC. That didn't seem to bother us until the last two nights after the daytime temps had been a little higher and then the evening was a little more uncomfortable inside. We noticed other units had a steel screened door on the entryway which would be nice in this unit too because then you could get a nice cross breeze to keep it cooler inside. They provided everything we needed for our stay plus some which was such a lovely touch. We saw sea turtles everyday. We even saw whales for the first several days we were there which was incredible because it was towards the end of the season for them in this area. We brought our binoculars which made the whale and dolphin viewing much easier. The unit was pretty clean although the floors could have been cleaned a bit better and the garbage in the bathroom upstairs had never been emptied from the people before. The shower downstairs needs work because the stone tiles are coming up and I hope they repair it before someone cuts their feet on one. The beds are comfortable but the pillows are not. It was nice having the washer and dryer available in the unit but just keep in mind that running the dryer will make the unit feel warmer. The couch in the living area is extremely uncomfortable. Overall a wonderful stay and would stay again.

Amazing view! Outstanding location!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The place was exactly as listed. It was clean & had all the supplies we needed. We enjoyed watching the ocean from our balcony every night and morning. We enjoyed using the pool, hot tub, and charcoal grills. We played on the beach that is right there. Two of the days we had sea turtles up on the beach. Other days we saw them swimming. We loved the location. The stand fans were so nice to have so we didn't get too hot at night. We appreciated that there was dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, garbage bags, shampoo, soap, & conditioner. There were plenty of bath towels, and loved that there were beach towels too. The location was outstanding (so close to our favorite snorkeling beaches!!) We would definitely stay here again!!

Incredible location!!!

The view from this property was probably as good as one could hope for. Access to the pool and the little private beach was perfect! The only downside to the property was that there was no air conditioning, so we felt quite warm the majority of the time in the condo. Other than that, we loved it!!!
