Ended ended up, not even staying because the place was very unsafe. When getting out of the car there were homeless people whistling and cat calling my teenage daughter. We ended up leaving and never even going inside. Worst thing is the host is refusing to refund us any of the money

I completely understand that traveling can sometimes feel uncertain, but I wanted to reassure you again that the apartment and neighborhood are safe. Like many urban areas, you may see people passing through, but this does not reflect the safety or comfort of the property itself. The house is exactly as described and shown in the listing, and I take pride in keeping it clean and welcoming. Since the space was prepared for your stay and you didn't cancel, according to VRBO policy, you were not due any refund. In good VRBO customer value service, I refunded you for the cleaning and standard cost for the stay. Please be aware if you live in rural, or suburban areas, urban areas are different.
