This is a 31-day vacation rental. Perfect for a snowbird. You don’t need to go very far to enjoy the sun and surf. One block from the beach, located off of East Cliff Drive between Capitola and Yacht Harbor. This hideaway is ideal for a couple. This is not student housing. This second-story, one-bedroom, one-bath unit is warm, comfortable, and inviting. The gourmet kitchen and great room overlook an outdoor deck. The outside deck allows you to BBQ and check out the waves at the beach, along with a view of the lagoon. This 700 sqft unit is adjacent to the Hawaiian Style Beach House VRBO #123636 and shares no common walls or access to hot water, and is very private.
Mid-month cleaning is included.
Includes all linens, towels, and bedding along with wireless internet access and an LCD HDTV.
To save you time getting to the beach, we provide beach chairs, towels, and a couple of boogie boards for your use during your stay at Hale Nalu.

It is a beautiful beach, ideal for long walks and various beach activities. The beach is not crowded and is reserved for locals in the area. The house itself is perfect for guests who prefer to spend the night at home, complete with a BBQ on the outside deck, a plasma TV, and a gourmet kitchen. Alternatively, if you'd like to go out at night, the house is located 2 miles from Capitola, a beach town offering numerous restaurants and shops. The Santa Cruz Boardwalk is located 3 miles away and has activities for all generations. The entire Monterrey Bay has a significant number of things to see and do. You could take day trips to see the Monterey Bay Aquarium and to Carmel. The benefits of staying at this guesthouse include its location and the renovations, which provide a very comfortable stay.
What activities are close to the house? Beach Activities: The ocean is just one block from the house and offers a wealth of activities. There is surfing, boogie boarding, skimboarding, swimming, and an excellent beach for long walks. Don’t miss the tide pools in the rocks and great boogie boarding at Sunny Cove, located to the far right side of the beach and around the corner.
Surfing: One of the best surfing beaches in all of California is just a mile south. Pleasure Point begins at 33rd Avenue and extends to 41st Avenue. Another good beginner break is Cowell’s Beach, which is just north of the Santa Cruz wharf, 3 miles away. For big waves, especially in the winter months, there is Steamer Lane, which is a little further north along West Cliff Drive at Lighthouse Point. This is also a great place to watch some of California’s best surfers. Most surf shops offer rentals, and several outfitters that offer lessons are listed below.

The cozy apartment is very functional in terms of the nice kitchen, BBQ, and spacious living room but the location is the best part! The one-block to one of the nicest beaches we have ever seen, it was a treat to walk and search for beach glass. Great restaurants, hiking, urban walks - we will be back!

The Hideaway was comfortable and had everything we needed. The deck faced the ocean, and while it's not beachfront, we could watch sailboats in the evening, and muted sunsets. It's very walkable (short block to the beach) to coffee and a few restaurants, and an easy drive to lots of good hiking spots. It's was exactly the getaway we hoped for.
This is a gorgeous apartment, super clean and modern, with a nice layout including a deck with a view of the ocean, and located a block away from the beach. With friendly and responsive hosts -- Lori is among the best we’ve stayed with.
This was our second visit, the first time we stayed for two months and we couldn’t have chosen a nicer spot. The modern kitchen with beautiful granite countertops had everything we needed; two types of coffee maker (pods and drip), nice glassware and dishware, all the kitchen tools and equipment to cook at home.
We especially appreciated the location a block away from Corcoran beach. The beaches are quieter on this side of Santa Cruz, unlike the packed busier beach on the boardwalk side, and we loved the peaceful vibe. Also nearby is great walking, running, or bicycling along the coastline – E Cliff Drive and coastal nature reserves.
Thoughtful extra amenities, too - backpack beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie board. Often in the afternoons we’d walk 5 minutes with the chairs and umbrella to the beach along with a few cold drinks and enjoy the sunset. Morning coffee on the deck was a favorite of ours, too.
The apartment's décor has lovely Hawaiian touches, which added to the peaceful vibe. There’s an adjoining rental house but no shared walls – while inside our apartment we couldn’t hear them at all.
Super friendly and responsive hosts. Great communication before arrival and when we suggested several small improvement ideas, and Lori made each of them right away.

My partner and I are currently staying in month long rentals while we can both work remote and this was one of our favorites! The interior is clean, comfortable, and well decorated, the location is great, and there is an amazing ocean view from the balcony. Lori is a wonderful host and made the whole process easy. We were sad to leave!
We were evacuated by the fires in Santa Cruz County. This property allowed us to repair our home while enjoying life at the beach. We are very grateful.
What a wonderful gem of a place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here while reconnecting with family in the area. Short walk to beach, easy drive to Capitola shopping centers and midtown Santa Cruz. Comfortable accommodations with a fully-stoked with appliances and tools kitchen. Hawaii feel was a bonus. Owners were lovely people and easy to communicate with. A great place.
This is a nice small and generally well-equipped over-garage apartment a short block from a nice beach. We enjoyed the comfortable bed, Xfinity TV and deck grill. The biggest problem is lack of laundry facilities, particularly with the Covid pandemic which makes the laundromat alternative unattractive. Lori kindly provided a Honeywell air cleaner to help with the fire smoke and musty stair carpet, but the latter should be replaced and an addditional set of nice sheets and towels furnished. There is also some road noise to contend with in the bedroom for light sleepers.
This is a great property, everything you need except a washer and Dryer, but there is a laundromat near by. One block from the beach, a quiet neighborhood and the place has all amenities you could want including bedding, glassware, BBQ on deck, etc. Lori the owner is super pleasant and very easy to work with. Strongly Recommended!
Felt right at home as soon as I walked in. Amazing balcony with partial ocean view and the sound of ocean waves. Very short walk to beach and a few shops including Starbucks. Neighborhood felt pretty safe. Communication with host was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

I travel for work and constantly live out of rental properties and hotels. Everything here was wonderful from Lori and the communication, to the amenities and location. There is no washer and dryer, but I am a long term renter, and this place is well worth it without a washer dryer anyway. Not only would I stay here again, but it was really hard to leave. Thanks
