First of all; I welcome guests to experience the best in beach living. I love anything 'outdoors' and am an active rower, hiker, skier, sailor and beach enthusiast!! I am very organized and have created a cozy, light filled, happy place to 'be'. I love sharing my oasis with guests and am very mindful of their needs, value honest and accurate communication, and trust my guests treat my home as their home away from home. The waves lapping on the shore, watching freighters from all around the world travel by, seals, orcas, and many birds, all add to the environment here and oh yes.... there is a resident eagle here and if you are lucky, you can watch him hunt the sea looking for his salmon dinner. II am a teacher in the public school system and work as a reading interventionist, principal designee, at the elementary level. I have been teaching for several years and find it to be rewarding and provides a way for me to give to our community. I adore the beach life and everything it includes; from quiet pensive moments to entertaining family and friends. The waves of the sea, the cry of the birds and views of the Olympic Mountains, Mt. Rainier, and several islands provide me with joy, serenity and happiness. A wonderful way to begin any day , a sunset walk on the beach while looking forward to the next.

Why janie wood | I welcome you to my special, uniquely, magical home chose Alki
This is, I believe, the best location in Seattle. The beach is quite private with only 6 small structures on it. The rhythm of the tide going in and out provides so many opportunities for treasure hunting, turning over small rocks to reveal little crabs, limpets, etc. I love the fact that even at high tide; there is always plenty of beach on which to walk. Many beaches are covered by the high tide, but not this one...always accessible, always walkable. Logs adorn the beach so you can always find a special spot in which to reflect and ponder. Not only can you experience the outdoors but it is also a quick 10 minute trip to downtown Seattle, by foot ferry, bus, or car. It is the best of both worlds: the hustle of the city and the quiet and solitude of the beach.
What makes this Apartment unique
The sandy/small pebbled each is private and unique to the Seattle area. The views are pretty unbeatable of the Olympic Mountains, the islands of Vashon, Maury, Bainbridge, and the ferries which travel to them. Alki beach is just around the lighthouse ( a block) and has a 4 mile long cornish ,ladened with restaurants, coffee, ice cream shops, bike and kyak rentals, and also provides a great place to bike, run, roller blade , walk. Lincoln park down the beach to the south, about 4 miles , is a great beach as well and houses the Vashon/Southworth ferry.. The stone fireplace provides a coziness to the condo and the deck offers a place to lounge, dine, read, bbq or relax. The kitchen is open to the living area so you can cook and socialize with others. I love the wide french doors which open wide to the large deck, a perfect spot for entertaining. There is a nice gas grill, a teak table and chairs for dining and very nice teak lounge chairs for relaxing. And, just a few steps to the sandy beach. It is a quiet, peaceful respite for couples, individuals and families.
